Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: Korin

Splash!

Qin Yan and Xiao Liya flew swiftly through the air, gradually approaching the martial arts sanctuary, Karin Tower.

Their figures darted over the vast, dense forest. Flying at high speeds, they left two white, curved streaks in their wake.

A long, winding river appeared directly ahead of Qin Yan, lying peacefully across the boundless plains.

Swooosh!

Qin Yan's figure suddenly came to a halt above the river.

"What's wrong, Brother Qin Yan?"

Seeing his movement, Xiao Liya also stopped. She didn't know why he had suddenly paused, so she asked with a look of confusion.

"We're going down to pick up a few things," Qin Yan explained with a slight smile.

"Wha... what? What are we getting, Brother Qin Yan?" Her confusion deepened, wondering what Qin Yan could possibly want to get from the river.

"Fish!" Qin Yan uttered simply.

"Fish? Why are we catching fish? Are you making something delicious again?" Xiao Liya's eyes immediately lit up and she began to drool, assuming Qin Yan was going to cook again.

"Eat, eat, eat! All you think about is eating. You just finished a meal and you're hungry again? This time, it's not for you." Qin Yan shook his head helplessly with a smile. This girl was a total glutton.

"Hee hee! Fine!" Xiao Liya felt a bit embarrassed by his words and gave a silly grin, showing off her pearly white teeth.

"Haha! Once we've finished our business, I'll take you to get something good." Her cute, dorky demeanor amused Qin Yan, and he laughed.

"Yay! Brother Qin Yan is the best!" She jumped for joy. That girl!

The two dove down toward the surface of the water. The river was like a sparkling blue ribbon winding across the vast land. Like a giant dragon, it snaked forward, the soft sound of the water murmuring like a tale from a thousand years ago.

The clear water shimmered under the sunlight, looking as if countless pearls were pouring downstream. The green trees lining the banks were reflected in the surface, creating a tranquil and beautiful scene.

Under the sun's reflection, the water glistened like a golden ribbon, stringing together the scenery along its path. It was a natural painting that added infinite vitality to the earth.

Lush trees provided shade on both sides, and the green vegetation swayed gracefully, embracing the river like warm arms. It was the source of life for the plains and a witness to countless miracles.

Splash!

Qin Yan and Xiao Liya leaped straight into the river. They moved through the water as nimbly as fish. Whenever Qin Yan saw a plump fish, he snatched it up. Before long, they had gathered a large basket full of fresh fish.

After stowing the fish away, they set off once more for the martial arts sanctuary, Karin Tower. After flying for a while over the great forest of the Sacred Land of Karin, a massive stone pillar appeared in their sight. It was towering and majestic, piercing straight into the sky. Its base was rooted deep into the horizon while its top was lost in the thick clouds, hiding its true face.

"Brother Qin Yan! Look!" Xiao Liya spotted the pillar in the distance and pointed toward the horizon with a look of joy. "That's Karin Tower!"

They accelerated and soon reached the base of the tower. Qin Yan gazed up at the structure, which looked exactly like the Karin Tower from the Dragon Ball anime. He was filled with awe; seeing it with his own eyes was even more shocking than the animation.

He wondered just how tall it was. The stone pillar disappearing into the clouds looked like a celestial column connecting heaven and earth. It was a magnificent sight, grander than he had imagined.

He couldn't help but wonder who had built such a miraculous tower what kind of genius could have designed it, and what material could keep it standing for so long without collapsing? It was a literal miracle.

"Let's go. We're going up." Despite his awe, Qin Yan didn't linger at the base. He spoke to Xiao Liya, and both of them flared their energy, flying directly toward the summit.

...

"They're here!"

Atop Karin Tower, Korin stared through his Water Jar, watching Xiao Liya soar toward him. He frowned, his expression solemn. He paced to the edge of the tower and looked down beneath the clouds.

Pffft!

To Korin's shock, two small figures pierced through the clouds. It was Qin Yan and Xiao Liya.

The top of Karin Tower was a hemispherical building, looking like two plates joined together. A dozen tall white jade pillars supported it, and the interior was vast, covering several acres.

Standing by the railing was a fat white cat, roughly the same height as Qin Yan, leaning on a cane and watching them. Qin Yan looked at the white cat, confirming it was indeed Korin, the immortal who guarded the tower day and night. Judging by his calm demeanor, he had known they were coming for a while. It seemed Korin was no ordinary cat.

Korin was also sizing up the two newcomers.

"Such powerful auras! Where did these monsters come from? Especially that boy he feels mysterious and unfathomable. It's terrifying."

Korin was inwardly shaken. He could feel a great power within Xiao Liya, but Qin Yan felt like an endless abyss terrifying, mysterious, and impossible to read. It was that very sense of the unknown that made him even more frightening.

Korin maintained a calm face, but his heart was a raging sea of shock.

"Hello!"

"Hello!"

Qin Yan and Korin looked at each other and exchanged greetings, with Qin Yan speaking first and Korin following suit.
