"They're coming up."
On the Lookout, Kami watched Qin Yan and Liya as they left the top of Korin Tower and flew toward the sanctuary. His expression was calm as he murmured to himself.
"Lord Kami..."
Beside him, Mr. Popo's throat moved as he swallowed. He looked at the deity with a trace of worry in his eyes.
"It's alright, Mr. Popo. Judging by their behavior, they don't seem to be evil."
Kami knew Mr. Popo was worried these newcomers might be a threat, but having witnessed the interaction between Qin Yan and Korin, he felt that they were likely not malicious.
Hearing this, Mr. Popo's expression softened slightly. He nodded and stood silently, watching without further word.
Qin Yan and Liya flew steadily upward along the path of Korin Tower. Soon, after piercing through layers of white clouds, they beheld a red, hemispherical building floating in the sky.
That was the Lookout.
A moment later, two surging white cyclones reached the Lookout, the roar of the air whistling in their ears.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Qin Yan and Liya landed on the edge of the Lookout's flat plaza. Standing not far in front of them were two figures: one with green skin and one with a completely dark complexion. They were the Guardian of the Heavens, Kami, and his assistant, Mr. Popo.
Qin Yan glanced around. The air was slightly thinner here, and the temperature was relatively cool.
"They're here!"
Kami and Mr. Popo's eyes sharpened, and a light sweat broke out on their foreheads. The pressure Qin Yan and Liya exerted was simply too shocking and powerful. They watched the two with heavy expressions.
Even though Qin Yan and Liya had suppressed their auras, the Ki they were currently projecting was still immense. Qin Yan was releasing a surface-level Ki of about 5000 Power Level, while Liya showed a Power Level of around 2000.
Feeling such massive Ki from so close, a shiver ran down the spines of Kami and Mr. Popo.
"They are truly two terrifying monsters. Far too strong, far too frightening."
Kami and Mr. Popo's eyes were filled with profound shock. But since the guests had already arrived at their door, they had to brace themselves to find out their intentions.
"Welcome, young ones, to the Lookout. I am the current Kami of this sanctuary, and beside me is my assistant, Mr. Popo."
Kami took a step forward and spoke slowly, a kind smile on his face.
"Hello, I'm Qin Yan, and this is my partner, Liya."
Qin Yan responded' politely with a faint smile, gesturing toward Liya.
"I didn't expect such a miraculous place to exist here!"
Liya was internally stunned. In less than half a day on Earth, she had seen two world wonders in a row. She truly felt the magic of Earth; no wonder Brother Qin Yan spoke so highly of it.
Kami and Mr. Popo nodded slightly in response to Qin Yan's greeting.
Qin Yan's gaze fell upon Kami, scrutinizing him. He looked exactly like the character portrayed in the original anime, but seeing the real person was even more extraordinary.
Kami had green skin and stood over two meters tall. He had long, pointed ears, white eyes with black pupils, and wrinkled, aged skin. He wore a blue cape over a white robe with the character for "God" marked on his chest, and he held a wooden staff identical to the one Korin used.
In truth, Kami was not a human from Earth; he was a member of a race from outer space known as Namekians.
Among the myriad races in the universe, Namekians possessed many superpowers, such as manifesting everyday items, size alteration, stretching their limbs, flight, telekinesis, and object creation like an hourglass.
In the original story, both Kami and Piccolo used their powers to create clothes for Goku and Gohan. They also possessed the power of regeneration; as long as the head was intact, limbs could be regrown, though their stamina would not be restored. Most importantly, they had the ability to create Dragon Balls that could grant wishes.
Earth's Kami was a genius of the Namekian Dragon Clan, which gave him the power to create wish-granting Dragon Balls. In the original work, the Dragon Balls on Earth were his creation. There were seven in total, and gathering them would summon Shenron to grant a wish. Within the range of Shenron's power, any wish could be fulfilled.
Many years ago, a shift occurred on Planet Namek. The climate changed so abruptly that the planet became nearly uninhabitable. Kami was sent to Earth as a child to escape. He was very young at the time, and when his ship landed at the Yunzabit Heights,
he hit his head, causing him to forget his origins. He found a letter left by his father, Katas, telling him to wait. He waited for thirty years, but no one ever came, so he eventually left to train on his own.
Kami's name was "Piccolo," which means "another world" in the Namekian language. The word "Piccolo" was also the code used to open the Namekian spaceship. Later, Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan used this code to fly the ship back to Planet Namek.
Because Kami was an alien with extraordinary talent, the previous Kami of Earth favored him and intended to make him his successor.
However, while training in the human world, Kami was influenced by humanity and developed evil thoughts. This was noticed by the previous Kami, who then decided not to name him the successor.
To become the Kami, Piccolo expelled the evil thoughts from his body. However, those thoughts manifested into the being that brought chaos to the world: King Piccolo.
Because they remained spiritually linked, if either of them died, the other would perish as well.
In the original Cell Arc, specifically in Age 767, Kami and Piccolo fused back together. This created an incredibly powerful Namekian warrior whose combat strength skyrocketed, becoming even more powerful than an initial Super Saiyan.
Eventually, the righteous Piccolo defeated his evil rival, Garlic, and became the new Kami of Earth. He lived on the Lookout with his servant, Mr. Popo, and used his lingering Namekian memories to create the miraculous Dragon Balls that could grant any human wish.
But for the sake of greed for money, power, status, and eternal life people fought over the Dragon Balls, triggering countless slaughters. Helpless, Kami split the Dragon Ball into seven and scattered them across the corners of the world. Even so, for hundreds of years, countless collectors have continued to pursue them relentlessly.
