Chapter 14 - Promises and Primacy

Chapter 14: Promises and Primacy

A week had passed since their return to Paris. The central headquarters of the Kim Syndicate—a massive, modern Gothic chateau resting along the banks of the River Seine—was bathed in a brilliant glow tonight. To celebrate the historic triumph at the Tokyo Grand Prix and the ultimate defeat of Park Hyung-suk, the syndicate had organized a lavish gala.

Inside the grand hall, Europe's most powerful tycoons, politicians, and underworld syndicate leaders were gathered. Yet, every eye in the room remained fixed on the grand sweeping staircase, where Kim Si Jin and Joon Jimeya were descending together.

Si Jin wore a regal black tuxedo, his hand resting securely and possessively against Joon's waist. Joon was dressed in an exquisite white silk suit adorned with intricate silver embroidery. The platinum cuff resting on their wrist was no longer a hidden secret; to the syndicate, it had become a definitive symbol that to even touch Joon was to invite an immediate death sentence.

Board Member 1: (Stepping forward, bowing respectfully) Director Kim, the ripples from Tokyo have yet to die down. Europe's largest museum has already sent a record-breaking offer to purchase Master Joon's masterpiece.

Kim Si Jin: (In his cold, commanding tone) Reject them. Joon's art is no longer for public display in a museum. Every single one of their canvases will remain in my private gallery. No one in the world possesses the wealth to put a price on their talent.

Joon Jimeya: (Gently pressing Si Jin's hand, a soft smile tugging at their lips) Si Jin… art isn't meant to be locked away in closed rooms.

Kim Si Jin: (Leaning in close to Joon, completely indifferent to the crowd watching them) What belongs to me is not for the world to stare at repeatedly. Whether it is your paintings… or you yourself.

The surrounding syndicate members watched in silence, witnessing how a ruthless and cold-blooded Alpha—a man who stood as an iron wall to the rest of the world—melted completely the moment Joon was near.

The Truth Behind the Glass

In the middle of the gala, as Si Jin became occupied with several high-profile business deals alongside his board members, Joon stepped out onto the chateau's massive balcony to spend a few moments alone. The crisp Parisian air brushed against their face, and the Eiffel Tower shimmered brightly against the dark night sky in the distance.

Suddenly, the quiet sound of footsteps echoed behind them. Joon turned around quickly, but it wasn't an enemy; it was Si Jin's most loyal commander, holding a velvet box in his hands.

Syndicate Commander: (Bowing with deep respect) Master Joon. Director Kim requested that I hand this to you personally. It is his private gift to celebrate your victory in Tokyo.

Joon slowly opened the velvet box. Resting inside was a beautifully crafted, intricately engraved silver key.

Joon Jimeya: (Staring in surprise) What does this key open?

Syndicate Commander: (With a polite, knowing smile) The historic mansion on the outskirts of Paris—the one you've always wanted to visit. Director Kim has transferred the entire estate under your name. A massive, state-of-the-art art studio has been built there for you. From now on, every major deal and executive decision of this empire will be made from that estate… because that is where you will be.

Joon's eyes grew misty. Si Jin hadn't just brought them back to his side; he had woven their art and their freedom directly into the very center of his empire.

For Eternity

Kim Si Jin: (Standing at the balcony doors, gesturing for the commander to dismiss himself) Do you like your gift, Joon?

Si Jin stepped forward quietly, wrapping his strong arms around Joon from behind. His solid chest pressed against their back, and the familiar, deep scent of cedarwood and amber enveloped Joon's entire being.

Joon Jimeya: (Holding the key close to their chest, turning their head to look into his dark eyes) It's beautiful, Si Jin. But I didn't need a mansion or a grand studio. Your arms are the only sanctuary I will ever need.

Kim Si Jin: (Leaning down until his lips were a mere breath away from theirs, his voice thick with a raw, primal devotion) I told you once before, Joon… what I want, I take by force. But you… you are someone I chose to win over. Now, there isn't a single piece of this empire that doesn't belong to you.

Si Jin gently raised Joon's wrist, and right next to the platinum cuff, he fastened a delicate, heavy silver locket against their skin, bearing the royal crest of the Kim Syndicate.

Kim Si Jin: You are entirely mine now, and I am yours.

Without waiting another second, Si Jin captured Joon's lips with his own. Amidst the cool Parisian night and the distant, elegant music drifting from the ballroom below, their kiss sealed a binding truth—their bond was no longer defined by captivity. They stood together now as the undisputed rulers of an empire where power and art reigned as equals.
