Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: Deadshot Floyd vs. Ocean Lord Orm

At the command, the weapon in Deadshot's hands—"Susie"—began to rapidly transform at the front end.

Three L-shaped metal rails unfolded around the muzzle, each tipped with a black, ring-shaped groove.

Once fully deployed, the three rails started spinning rapidly around the barrel.

As yellow energy gathered, a faint golden light film formed over the muzzle.

The faster the rails rotated, the denser and brighter the yellow energy became.

All of this happened in an instant.

The charging process took no more than five seconds.

Meanwhile, the Sea Bat flyers, even outside the ocean, were far faster than conventional fighter jets.

In less than two seconds, they had locked onto Deadshot's position and surged into firing range.

Just as their cannons began charging to fire, Susie struck first.

The moment Deadshot pulled the trigger, the rotating muzzle shuddered violently, and a semi-transparent circular shockwave rippled outward.

In the next instant, the space occupied by the eight Sea Bat flyers suddenly filled with countless flickering blue light points.

The blue points linked together in a chain reaction, arcs of pale blue electricity connecting them into a massive electrical web suspended in midair.

The eight aircraft caught within it instantly lost balance, swaying wildly like drunken men staggering through the air.

"Penetration mode."

Deadshot changed Susie's configuration without hesitation.

The three metal rails retracted back into the weapon, and the muzzle rapidly reshaped itself into a half-meter-long barrel.

At the razor-sharp tip, yellow lightning serpents crackled wildly before a spear-like beam of energy shot straight out.

In a flash, three Sea Bat flyers aligned in a straight line were pierced clean through.

The crippled flyer crashed mid-fall into two others, and under the violent electromagnetic interference already present, all eight Sea Bats detonated one after another within seconds.

Burning wreckage rained down to the ground.

[Dad, you're amazing!]

Zoe's voice rang in his ear, drawing a smile across Deadshot's face.

But that smile froze almost immediately.

A figure was emerging from the black smoke rising from the wreckage.

As the figure stepped into the sunlight, golden fish-scale armor gleamed brilliantly.

The trident in his hand struck the ground again and again, each impact echoing like the toll of a massive bell.

Deadshot had watched the battlefield long enough to recognize him.

This was the leader of the undersea forces.

What shocked him was that this leader had appeared alone—and had crossed six to seven kilometers in a straight line to reach him.

"For a surface human to reach this level," Orm said arrogantly, "I admire you. Would you consider joining me?"

"Sorry," Deadshot replied calmly. "I can't swim."

Even as he spoke, he raised Susie and pulled the trigger.

The energy beam struck Orm from over ten meters away—yet Orm merely raised his arm, blocking the shot with his dark-green forearm armor.

The same penetrating beam that shredded Sea Bat flyers left only a shallow mark on Orm's bracer.

Deadshot didn't wait to see more.

The moment he fired, he retracted the weapon, turned, and ran.

Enhanced by the Zoe armor, his initial acceleration was more monstrous than a supercar's.

This was aided by his prior training in gravity chambers, as well as the high-nutrition regimen Lucas had provided—strengthening his physical density far beyond normal limits.

Without such conditioning, his body would never have survived that level of explosive movement.

Even so, Orm slammed his foot into the ground.

Stone exploded outward as Orm shot forward like an arrow loosed from a bow.

Even on land, each step sent his speed climbing higher and higher.

[Dad, he'll catch you in four seconds!]

Deadshot's brows tightened. He planted his foot and came to an abrupt stop.

"Activate limit-release mode!"

As he turned, Susie rapidly reshaped into a large-caliber heavy cannon.

Orm, charging at full speed, was already locked in Deadshot's retinal targeting system.

Deadshot fired.

Grenade-sized energy orbs blasted forth in rapid succession.

Orm attempted to power straight through them.

The first orb struck, and violent arcs of electricity surged across Orm's body.

More detonations followed, electrical fields overlapping and compressing as the surrounding air began to ionize into plasma.

Even Orm's mighty physique stiffened under the assault.

Deadshot had already transitioned weapons.

He dropped prone, armor shifting to deploy stabilization and recoil-dampening systems.

The massive cannon split into six metal petals, forming a flower-like muzzle at the center.

Sparks danced through the air as the weapon glowed brighter and brighter, the heat intense enough to crystallize the ground beneath it.

In just two seconds, a pinpoint of light formed at the muzzle.

Countless light particles rushed toward it, creating a breathtaking sight.

Orm, relying on sheer physical power, finally tore free of the paralyzing electric field.

But before he could counterattack—

HUM—!

A golden beam tore through the air and slammed into him.

This time, Orm was blasted backward.

The heat was like a star igniting in his chest.

Even with the Sea God armor protecting him, his expression darkened.

Orm roared and drove the Sea God's Trident into the ground.

The trident's base sank deep into the earth, but the beam still pushed him backward, carving a hundreds-meter trench through reinforced concrete.

ROAR!

Orm unleashed a thunderous bellow as golden radiance erupted from his armor, colliding head-on with the energy beam.

BOOM!

A blazing sphere of light, several meters in diameter, engulfed him completely.
