Chapter 119 - Chapter 119: Saving the Plane

Hearing this, Tony frowned.

"What? I have to obey all of your orders?"

"Yes," Lucas shrugged.

"I created this organization. If you can't follow my rules and commands, then forget it."

"That's a problem," Tony said thoughtfully.

"What if you order me to do something insane?"

"Then it depends on whether you trust me," Lucas laughed.

Clark, standing nearby, spoke up first.

"I trust Lucas. Have you ever seen him do anything truly crazy?"

Tony thought about it for a moment.

…Actually, no.

After hesitating for a few seconds, he asked,

"Then what if I want to quit later?"

"You can," Lucas replied calmly.

"But only with my permission."

Tony grinned.

"Alright. I'm in. I'll trust you."

"There's one more thing," Lucas said seriously.

"Without my approval, you are not allowed to disclose any information about the Guardians to Nick Fury—not even a single detail."

"I never liked that guy anyway," Tony replied immediately.

"Relax. I promise I won't leak anything about the Guardians."

Lucas stood up and extended his hand.

"Welcome to the Guardians."

Tony shook it.

"Oh, right," Clark added.

"Normally, each Guardian chooses a city to protect."

"Kara protects Central City. I protect Metropolis. Lucas should be responsible for Philadelphia."

"On a daily basis, we guard our own cities. Only when something happens that one Guardian can't handle alone do we cross into another Guardian's territory to help."

Lucas raised an eyebrow.

'When did I ever say that?'

This was definitely Kara's idea again—but now wasn't the time to argue.

Clark had likely decided to join the Guardians precisely because of these rules.

Sure enough, Tony's eyes lit up.

"As expected of Lucas's Guardians!"

"Then I'll protect New York!"

Just then, Clark's ears twitched.

He suddenly stood up and stared into the distance.

"What's wrong?" Lucas asked.

"There's a plane," Clark said grimly.

"It looks like its engine has failed. It's losing balance."

"How far is it?"

"JARVIS!" Lucas and Tony spoke at the same time.

"I can't be exact," Clark replied,

"But if I rush there, it'll take me a few minutes."

[Sir, Air Force radar confirms the aircraft is 65 kilometers away at an altitude of 8,251 meters.]

[Sir, I've connected to the aircraft's control system. The right engine has failed, and the fuel tank is leaking. Remaining fuel is below 7%.]

[Current altitude is rapidly decreasing—now at 8,124 meters.]

[Based on remaining fuel and trajectory calculations, the crash point is projected to be directly above your residence, Mr. Lucas. Margin of error: ten meters.]

"Shit!" Lucas cursed immediately.

If a plane crashed somewhere else, he wouldn't care.

But crashing on his house? That was unacceptable.

"I'll handle it," Clark said, stepping forward.

"I'll help too!" Tony jumped up.

"My armor's in the car!"

"Wait," Lucas interrupted, looking at Clark.

"Let me ask you something—have you ever saved a crashing plane before?"

Clark froze, then shook his head.

"No. This would be my first time."

Lucas sighed.

"I'll do it. I'm not risking you accidentally tearing the plane apart."

In movies, Superman made saving planes look easy—but that required mastery over his biological force field.

A rookie Superman mishandling the force could shatter the aircraft.

And Lucas had no intention of repairing his house afterward.

"You two keep up!"

Lucas vanished in a burst of speed, shooting into the sky.

Only Clark, already wearing his Kryptonian combat suit, managed to follow closely behind.

At hypersonic speed, Lucas soon spotted the passenger jet—its engine smoking heavily as it spiraled downward.

"You don't have a bio-field," Clark said anxiously.

"How are you planning to stop it?"

"Lucas, your strength is insane," Tony's voice came through the comms.

"If you intercept it directly, the front half of the plane will collapse from the force!"

"No bio-field doesn't mean it can't be done," Lucas replied calmly.

In the next instant, his figure flashed beneath the falling aircraft.

[Sir, aircraft length: 39.2 meters. Wingspan: 52 meters. Total mass: 62–69 tons.]

[I've displayed the gravity distribution points on your retinal interface.]

"Not necessary," Lucas said.

He pressed both palms against the underside of the aircraft.

A powerful surge of ki flowed from his body, spreading evenly across the plane's entire structure in just thirteen seconds.

"JARVIS, mark a suitable landing zone and notify local fire and police departments immediately."

[Understood, sir.]

[Landing location selected. Displaying on your retinal interface.]

A city map appeared in Lucas's vision, a red marker blinking steadily.

Lucas's eyes narrowed.

The plane's downward momentum slowed instantly.

By using ki to create a uniform force distribution, he prevented structural tearing caused by concentrated pressure points.

The total force required was only about a hundred tons—

well within his current capabilities.

Within seconds, the aircraft fully stabilized.

In less than eight seconds, it came to a complete stop in midair—

the fuselage completely intact.

Lucas guided the plane downward.

Fire trucks and emergency vehicles were already waiting below, with reporters gathering nearby.

Hovering ten meters above the ground, Lucas gently lowered the aircraft using ki.

Not even the slightest tremor shook the ground.

The surrounding crowd lowered their phones—and then erupted into thunderous applause.

Lucas frowned slightly.

Then, without another word, he turned and flew away.
