Chapter 126 - Chapter 126: Superman vs. the Destroyer (Remote-Controlled Form) [Part 1]

For some reason, when Thor, Tony, and the others saw Clark's smile, a deep sense of reassurance rose in their hearts.

"And besides," Clark said with a laugh,

"isn't Lucas here backing me up? There's no need to worry."

He stretched his shoulders casually.

"Ever since our last fight, I haven't really had a chance to go all out."

Lucas glanced around. The surrounding area was nothing but barren desert—perfect. There was no need to worry about collateral damage to cities or civilians.

He turned to Tony.

"Tony, go warn the S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel. If they don't want to die, tell them to retreat at least three kilometers away."

Hearing this, Tony didn't waste a word. He immediately turned and rushed toward the S.H.I.E.L.D. teams that were still packing up equipment.

Clark removed his suit jacket, revealing his iconic tight-fitting combat suit beneath.

Lucas couldn't help but feel curious—wearing that thing all day under normal clothes, especially in summer… wasn't it inconvenient when using the bathroom?

Clark cracked his neck and walked straight toward the Destroyer.

Facing the towering steel giant looming above him, Clark still tried to reason.

"Thor's brother—Loki, right?" he said calmly.

"I'd advise you to stop struggling. Just give it up."

"Silence, mortal!" Loki's irritated voice echoed from within the Destroyer.

"You are not worthy to speak of the gods of Asgard!"

Clark shook his head, then looked the Destroyer up and down before smiling.

"Good. Then I won't hold back."

The moment his words fell—

BOOM!

A deafening sonic boom erupted.

The ground beneath Clark's feet exploded, and in the blink of an eye, he appeared directly in front of the Destroyer.

A straight punch slammed into the Destroyer's head.

CLANG!

The massive construct was sent staggering backward more than ten steps.

Before Loki could even react, Clark was already back in front of it—another punch crashed into its head.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The metallic impact rang out repeatedly.

Thor, the Warriors Three, and Lady Sif all stared in shock.

They had always thought Thor's fighting style was primitive and brutal—but Clark's was even more raw and direct.

As for Loki, he was close to cursing out loud.

He was a descendant of the Frost Giants of Jotunheim and had received formal combat training in Asgard. Even if he preferred magic and trickery, he should have been more than enough to crush Midgardians.

Yet right now, fighting Clark felt like being a self-proclaimed FPS pro suddenly matched against an actual esports champion—killed repeatedly before even seeing the opponent.

The sheer frustration drove Loki into rage.

But Clark didn't give him a chance.

Punch after punch, the Destroyer was beaten until it couldn't even counterattack.

In the end, Loki slumped back in his seat and, utterly fed up, switched to auto-control mode.

CLANG!

This time, the Destroyer caught Clark's fist.

Don't forget—while the Destroyer looked weak in the movie, that was because of who was using it and what Thor was wielding.

It was like giving an amateur a sniper rifle while a professional used a pistol—skill made all the difference.

The Destroyer was a runic war-armor Odin used to conquer the cosmos, capable of confronting even the Celestials head-on.

Alongside Gungnir, the Eternal Spear, and Mjolnir, it was one of Asgard's three supreme weapons.

In terms of raw attack power, it couldn't rival Gungnir.

But in overall performance, the Destroyer was Asgard's ultimate weapon.

By design, the stronger the life energy of its controller, the stronger the armor became.

In theory, a sufficiently powerful user could amplify it to the point where it could battle Celestials directly.

Back to the fight.

Seeing his fist caught, Clark didn't panic at all.

He suddenly pulled back with immense force.

Even the Destroyer couldn't withstand the strength of Clark's Kryptonian body—it was yanked forward violently.

What followed was yet another straight punch.

This time, however, the Destroyer was no longer under clumsy control.

It barely dodged the punch, and the eyes in its helmet flared with searing light.

The instant it turned its head—

Two devastating beams blasted directly into Clark's face.

"It's over!" the Asgardians cried in despair, covering their faces.

They believed Clark was doomed. Those were annihilation beams capable of destroying almost anything.

"Aren't you going to help?" Tony asked Lucas.

"Help?" Lucas chuckled.

"You might need help. Clark doesn't."

"?" Tony stared.

But the moment he saw Clark unharmed, he froze in disbelief.

CLANG!

Clark smashed his head forward in a brutal headbutt, then followed up with a rapid barrage of left and right hooks—like a violent storm hammering the Destroyer.

The Destroyer was beaten senseless, completely unable to retaliate for the moment.

Still, thanks to its uru-metal body, it didn't lose combat capability.

"It won't be that easy," Thor suddenly said.

"Asgard's ultimate weapon—one of my father's greatest treasures—won't fall so easily!"

As if to prove him right, when Clark punched the Destroyer's head again, it didn't budge this time.

BAM!

The Destroyer suddenly drove a heavy punch into Clark's abdomen.

Even with a body of steel, Clark was sent flying.

HUM—!

The Destroyer's eye sockets expanded.

Two even thicker, more intense annihilation beams fired.

Clark, just stabilizing himself midair, was hit head-on and blasted away again.

But he stopped himself mid-flight.

Gritting his teeth, Clark thrust both hands forward and forcibly held the beams back.

Then his eyes glowed red.

Two blazing heat vision beams erupted from his pupils.

The energy attacks collided.

Though Clark's beams were thinner, they steadily pushed forward against the Destroyer's attack.

The Destroyer refused to yield.

Its stance shifted, its helmet opening wider, the annihilation beams intensifying.

The energy clash caused the beams to split apart.

"Watch out!" Thor shouted.

One of the beams veered toward Tony.

Thor charged forward, shoving Tony aside.

But he himself was struck directly by the beam.
