We left Bloomsburg by four pm. The paranoia was there with me every step of the way as Bender drove the car. He was more relaxed now after having slept for a few hours. I couldn't say the same for myself.
We were mostly silent all the way to Hempstead. Before leaving the house of Bender's sister, they'd shown me the map with a big red dot where the Blood prison was and where they were going to drop me off—right outside of the town's borders. According to Bender, I was going to have to walk for about six minutes until I reached the building, but that nobody would suspect anything because the town wasn't strictly for Blood witches.
Other paranormals passed by there regularly, so I would be fine, right until I attempted to break into the prison. By that time, he and Wayne would have started the fire on the other side of town in those fields we'd seen on the map, so hopefully, I wouldn't have too many people to get past. Hopefully.
