After laughing for a good while, Carl regained his composure, put the gun away and ran off at full speed, if anyone saw him with a gun, Lori would undoubtedly take it away from him, just like in the original series.
Soon he arrived at the camp, exchanged a glance with Lori who was sitting among a group of children in the distance and entered the tent.
"System, open the legendary level card!" Said Carl after sitting down, rubbing his hands.
|[ Legendary Level Card: Dimensional Door to Minecraft World
• Description: The user can open a dimensional door that leads to the world of Minecraft ]|
Carl was smiling excited to know what the reward would be this time, but upon seeing the result, he could not help but curse.
"Holy shit!" His jaw almost dropped to the ground and his mind took several seconds to process what he was seeing.
Just thinking about the literally infinite possibilities almost made him hyperventilate, a stupid smile formed on his face while his eyes curved into crescent shapes.
"I can get infinite food, infinite iron, materials, enchanted tools, weapons and even a zombie cure!" Exclaimed Carl with blood pumping through his veins uncontrollably.
To say he was excited would be an understatement, after all, getting this ability in a modern world would be great, but in the apocalypse, it can only be called the holy grail.
|[ Do you wish to integrate your rewards? ]|
He nodded and the memories of how to open a dimensional door flooded his mind, doing it became as easy as breathing.
With a simple thought, a completely white rectangular portal appeared in front of him, thanks to the system, he knew he could increase the size up to one kilometer if he wished.
He took a breath and entered without hesitation, once his whole body passed through, everything turned black, a sudden burst of bright light forced him to close his eyes, when he opened them again, he found himself in a world made completely of blocks.
The first thing he did was look at his hands, indeed, they had also become square, but at least he still has fingers, square, but he has them.
He looked around, the sky was a clean and flat blue with some square clouds floating, the square sun hung motionless over a forest of perfectly aligned oak trees, the grass stretches like a uniform green carpet.
"The design looks quite similar to the movie and it is even better, it is just how I imagined Minecraft would be in reality." Murmured Carl nodding satisfied.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, first, he checked something essential, he opened his mental inventory and took out his gun, after confirming that he could shoot using his square fingers, he put it away.
Then he tried to access the Minecraft inventory, a translucent grid appeared in front of him, four basic slots and the simple crafting option.
He closed the inventory and ran toward a tree, beginning to punch it, after a few hits, he got a log, at the same time a magical scene happened as the rest of the tree remained standing as if nothing had happened.
After cutting down the tree completely, he opened his inventory and crafted sixteen wooden planks with the four logs he had gathered, with those planks, he created his first object, a crafting table.
After placing it, he crafted sticks and made himself a wooden axe, with that ready, he gathered more wood and crafted another basic tool he needed, a pickaxe.
"Basic tools, ready, now I need to find something to eat." Said Carl noticing that he was running out of energy even to run.
He quickly saw a few cows in the distance, he walked toward them without hesitation, after getting close enough, he apologized and raised the axe with hunger clouding his judgment.
With a dull sound, the cow died in a single hit, the other cows simply stayed there, mooing as if nothing had happened, Carl killed the three cows quickly, gathering their meat and leather.
"Good, I have the meat, but raw will not work." He said and took the pickaxe to start digging.
Shortly after, he had enough to craft a furnace, which he used to cook the meat with wood as fuel.
When the food finished cooking, he took it out and looked at it, drooling, it looked delicious and smelled wonderful.
"Let us see what it tastes like." Said Carl opening his mouth to take a bite.
"It is delicious!" Carl had to admit that it tasted like glory, this is even without seasoning, now imagine what would happen if it were seasoned.
Carl finished the last piece of meat and felt the energy return to his body immediately, the hunger bar in his interface filled completely and a warm sensation ran through his limbs.
After satisfying his hunger, Carl decided to build a cabin, he also took the opportunity to make crops, mainly wheat and potatoes using seeds he found after killing a zombie and breaking tall grass, fortunately, there was a lake nearby.
He also found more cows and sheep, built a large fence next to the house and attracted them with wheat, he also brought some chickens and locked them in separate pens.
As night fell, the sky gradually changed to dark tones and the square stars began to appear, he entered the cabin determined to test the sleep function.
As soon as he clicked on the bed, he lay down and lost consciousness, morning arrived as soon as he fell asleep, yawning, he opened the door and went outside, in the distance there were some zombies wrapped in flames.
"I wish the zombies in the world of the walking dead were like this, we would not have to worry about being bitten during the day." Said Carl complaining out loud.
"Oh, shit!" Cursed Carl remembering that a day and a night had passed in this world, he quickly opened the portal and returned to the real world.
But when he returned, everything still seemed calm, he glanced outside, Lori was still playing with the children, he raised his head and looked up, where the sun seemed to remain in the same position.
With a sigh of relief, Carl went back into the tent, closing it from the inside, it would be bad if someone saw him appear suddenly, now calmer, Carl searched through his things and left a watch on a small wooden box next to his sleeping bag.
"I still need to check the flow of time in both worlds." Murmured while carefully adjusting the position of the hands, when he finished, he returned to Minecraft.
"Although I do not know what the exact flow of time is between both worlds, it seems that it is 1:1 but the night does not count or I should say it passes too quickly." Murmured Carl analyzing his situation.
With plenty of time, Carl prepared to make a mine, the ideal location would be right under his cabin, just as he was about to get to work, a system notification assaulted his sight.
|[ Mission: Like a Good Miner
• Cobblestone: 0/100
• Coal: 0/20
• Iron: 0/20
• Gold: 0/10
• Reward: Silver Level Card
• Penalty: None
• Status: Incomplete ]|
"I do not understand this mission system.." Complained Carl frowning.
Shrugging, he decided to ignore the system, the only thing that matters to him now is getting iron tools, the rest, is irrelevant.
He took the pickaxe and got to work, in a short time he had almost finished the mission, he only needed ten pieces of iron and five of gold, so he kept mining for a while longer until the mission was finally completed.
[ Mission: Like a Good Miner
• Cobblestone: 100/100
• Coal: 20/20
• Iron: 20/20
• Gold: 10/10
• Reward: Silver Level Card
• Penalty: None
• Status: Completed ]|
"Great, finally, now let us take a good look at the reward, system, open the Silver level card!" Ordered Carl excited to know what he will get this time, maybe it is a superpower or something like that.
|[ Silver Level Card: Hammer Mod
• Description: Allows mining a 3x3 block area at the same time, greatly speeding up excavation, includes different variants depending on the material.
• Note: They can be combined with special cores to increase their excavation power ]|
"Mm, I did not think mods could be added, now this is great, with hammers, pickaxes are practically obsolete." Murmured Carl happy to be able to speed up the mining process.
Without hesitation, Carl placed the crafting table on the ground and crafted two stone hammers, any other material would be a waste of resources, at least until he has his iron farm running.
According to the description, hammers of different materials change mining speed, durability and the types of ores they can mine, an iron pickaxe and stone hammers will be enough for now.
With such good tools, Carl did not even feel tired and began mining once more, he raised his hand and with just mining one block, a hole appeared in front of him.
Exactly three blocks up and three blocks to the sides, if it were an upgraded version with cores, he could have mined even three blocks deep, even five if it were the super version.
Carl smiled like a little child with a new toy, he spent the following hours mining, he mined various ores, from coal, redstone, iron and thirty diamonds, with such a good haul, Carl prepared to return.
"This.. where was the exit?" Asked Carl to no one in particular as he realized the multiple paths that had formed almost a maze behind him.
