Eric and Mia sat at their desks in their office at Hood Hill. He sighed, looking out the window at the clouds building in the distance. "It will hit any day now." He grumbled, his eyes tracing the golden lightning flickering in the distance. Over the past few days, they had been getting brief showers of mana and rain, but so far, those did not affect anyone caught in them.
"Didn't Milano say he would order a 'shelter in place' today?" Mia said. She closed her laptop and stretched her back, yawning.
Eric nodded. "Yeah. In this morning's brief, he told me that President Nieto, the Mayor of Austin, the Dragon King, and Remory have already told their citizens to shelter in place. We don't have that luxury right now because we are still moving people."
Mia groaned. "Can we just have one day where nothing crazy happens?" She said, looking out the window.
Eric laughed, hugging her from behind.
"Yesterday was sane compared to what happened at Freedom town."
