At 2:55 PM, outside the assessment grounds, in the monitoring center.

"Director Vincent, we have a problem! A student has entered Ursaring's territory."

Inside the monitoring room, the staff member responsible for real-time surveillance of critical areas stared at his screen and called out urgently.

Hearing the alert, footsteps quickly approached as Vincent arrived.

"What's the situation? It's only early afternoon, and someone's already found the hidden boss we placed there. How many participants are in that area?"

Before he even reached the monitoring station, he immediately inquired about the specifics while simultaneously checking the surveillance feed.

The screen displayed real-time footage transmitted from the camera they'd positioned in Ursaring's territory.

In the video, David—who had just defeated two Teddiursa—was walking toward the supply package near the den.

"I'm not sure! There's only one person there right now. Ursaring wasn't in its den earlier, and that student appears to have defeated Ursaring's cubs."

"But Ursaring has just returned. If they encounter each other..."

"Then what are you waiting for! Quickly determine how far the nearest Safety Officer is from that location, and tell them to rush over immediately. Otherwise, we'll have a serious incident on our hands!"

Hearing the staff member's report, Vincent issued rapid commands.

It was important to understand that while Ursaring wasn't classified as a high-risk Pokémon that actively attacked humans, its temperament was extremely volatile and aggressive, which was precisely why it had earned the nickname "Forest Tyrant."

For Ursaring to discover a human in its den—with its cubs having just battled that human—waiting any longer would inevitably lead to disaster!

"Oh no..."

Suddenly staring at the screen before him, Vincent exclaimed in alarm.

In the video, a brilliant golden beam suddenly streaked across the frame, shooting directly toward the student who was reaching for the supplies.

At that moment, Vincent's heart seized with tension. He stared wide-eyed at the screen, not daring to even blink.

Fortunately, a Shiny Ralts materialized just in time, helping the student evade the Hyper Beam with a well-timed Teleport.

"Phew~" Vincent, who had been holding his breath from the moment he saw the Hyper Beam fire, finally managed to release a shaky sigh of relief.

Thank goodness... However, after witnessing that close call, Vincent couldn't remain seated. If that Hyper Beam had connected directly, it could have resulted in a catastrophic injury.

"Quick, all of you continue monitoring the situation there and contact the nearest Safety Officer to return immediately. I'm heading out now—I just hope I'm not too late..."

After speaking, he immediately retrieved a Poké Ball, turned, and strode toward the exit, clearly intending to respond personally.

As the safety supervisor for this assessment, Vincent's capabilities were naturally formidable. He intended to personally rescue the student. With the flying speed of a Gym-level Pokémon, he might still arrive in time.

"Wait, don't rush, Director Vincent. The situation appears to be... different from what we anticipated..."

Back at the assessment grounds.

David, having just evaded the Hyper Beam, was now preparing to face Ursaring's assault.

Seeing that this human—who had just harmed its cubs—had actually dodged its Hyper Beam, Ursaring became even more enraged.

"ROAR~"

Ursaring released an angry bellow, then continuously accelerated, charging directly toward David and his Pokémon.

Take Down!

Consumed by fury, Ursaring lived up to its "Forest Tyrant" reputation, smashing through trees in its path as it barreled toward David and his team.

The violent rampage even caused the surrounding ground to tremble beneath its weight.

Witnessing Ursaring dare to attack her Trainer repeatedly, however, Ursaring wasn't the only Pokémon consumed by rage at this moment.

Zorua was equally furious.

The Hyper Beam that had nearly struck David had already ignited her anger.

Now, this foolish opponent dared to continue its assault right before her eyes.

"Zorua~ (You two protect David. I'll handle this one myself.)"

The equally enraged little fox addressed Ralts and Riolu nearby, then charged forward without hesitation.

Although also angered by the situation, the other two Pokémon dutifully maintained their protective positions around David.

Even Ralts, who often competed with Zorua for dominance, didn't object this time.

The younger Pokémon understood what mattered during critical moments. Ralts had the vital responsibility of protecting their Trainer, and though reluctant to admit it, she had to acknowledge one fact.

Despite being very powerful herself, the strongest member of David's team was still Zorua.

David watched the little fox's departing form. There was nothing else he could do. Since Zorua wanted to battle Ursaring one-on-one, what could he do but support her decision!

Besides, in this confrontation, who would emerge victorious was still uncertain!

Facing the continuously approaching Ursaring—which resembled a rampaging tank—Zorua chose not to dodge or employ long-range attacks.

Instead, as if driven wild by fury herself, she charged directly forward to meet it head-on.

When Ursaring's massive figure drew closer, David suddenly realized that this particular Ursaring's size far exceeded that of typical specimens. At a glance, even while running on all fours at full speed, its shoulder height still exceeded 1.6 meters, and its total length was probably no less than 3 meters.

Compared to Ursaring—built like a heavily armored tank—Zorua's diminutive figure created a stark contrast between the two combatants.

Zorua resembled a small vessel charging into a towering wave; unless a miracle occurred, she seemed in danger of being completely overwhelmed.

In the distant monitoring room, everyone held their breath watching Zorua's approach.

Vincent, however, seemed to recall something important. This Pokémon appeared to be that unique Zorua that had competed in the Rookie Cup.

"I remember its typing was Normal and Gho—"

Before he could finish his sentence, a miracle seemed to truly occur.

"Zorua, Aerial Ace!"

Ursaring's furious Take Down, upon making contact with Zorua, inflicted absolutely no damage whatsoever. Instead, after David commanded the little fox to use Aerial Ace, Zorua borrowed Ursaring's momentum and nimbly flipped backward through the air.

"Zorua~"

Mid-flight, sharp white light enveloped Zorua's claws as she executed a follow-up Aerial Ace strike on the Ursaring below.

Her momentum exhausted, unable to defend! Zorua's Aerial Ace struck Ursaring's head with tremendous force, directly driving it face-first into the ground.

Having suffered a devastating blow to the head, Ursaring felt disoriented and dizzy, only managing to lift its head after several long moments.

After enduring that Aerial Ace, the rage in its eyes diminished considerably, replaced by a somewhat bewildered expression.

Clearly, after witnessing its full-powered Take Down prove completely ineffective, Ursaring was momentarily stunned.

However, the greatest advantage of wild Pokémon was their extensive combat experience. For Ursaring to have reached its current level, it had survived countless battles.

Although it hadn't specifically studied type matchups the way trained Pokémon did under human guidance, its vast combat experience made the solution clear: when encountering opponents immune to certain moves, simply switch to different attack types.

It had faced such opponents before. If one type of move didn't work, then it would simply use another.

Ursaring shook its head vigorously, dispelling the dizziness while also shaking off the mud and debris that had clung to its fur when it was driven into the ground. Then it rose to its feet once more, preparing to continue the battle.
