Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Is the Executor Really Female?

Under everyone's gazes.

March 7th's pink-blue eyes widened.

She wiped off the moss, then glared furiously at Zeig.

March 7th: (Just you wait)

Zeig: "…"

Zeig immediately changed the subject, complaining about the vegetable soup:

"It's supposed to be mixed vegetable soup—how come there's moss in it?"

Seele waved her hand matter-of-factly:

"Please, this is the Underworld. We're lucky to have anything to eat. Besides, vegetables are green, moss is green—what's wrong with calling it mixed vegetable soup?"

Zeig picked up a piece of meat, poked it in his bowl. "Is this chicken?"

"That's rock-baked geomarrow salamander. It looks a lot like chicken, but it's not the same species." Oleg smiled.

Zeig tasted a piece, chewed it, swallowed, and immediately exclaimed:

"This is really good."

He quickly picked several pieces for Bronya and put them in her bowl: "Miss… ah no, Commander, try this—it's delicious."

Bronya nodded slightly, picked up a piece, put it in her mouth, and chewed carefully:

"Salamander meat—it really is quite tasty."

Zeig then picked a strange piece of meat jelly for March 7th. "March, try this—what kind of meat is it?"

March 7th put it in her mouth suspiciously, chewed, and said puzzled:

"Huh, I can't tell. This meat has such a weird flavor."

At that moment, Gertie brought bowls and chopsticks for Oleg and Seele and placed them in front of the two.

Oleg smiled, picked up a piece of meat jelly, ate it, swallowed, and said:

"This is called flavored meat jelly. Before the name change, it was also called rat meat jelly."

March 7th: "…"

She glared at Zeig, eyes practically splitting with rage.

"!!!"

Zeig immediately kicked his leg out, sliding himself and his chair backward a distance, and said innocently:

"What? I didn't know what meat it was."

Seele speechlessly picked up a piece. "It's just rat meat—what's the big deal? We're lucky to have food at all."

Soon after, Gertie brought more delicious dishes.

These were extras and weren't charged to Bronya or Zeig.

It was Gertie's way of supporting Wildfire.

As Bronya ate, her hunger eased a little, and her mind cleared.

She set down her chopsticks and asked:

"So, how do we get back to the Overworld now? I'll report the situation in the Underworld to Mother and persuade her to lift the lockdown order soon."

Oleg shook his head helplessly. "Little miss, we want to go up too, but there's no way. The cable cars between the Overworld and Underworld stopped running long ago."

Bronya murmured:

"What about the furnace core? I remember that can also be used to travel between the two."

Oleg and Seele exchanged a glance. Seele said unhappily:

"The furnace core? It's occupied by a robot called Svarog. He doesn't allow anyone to use it to go to the Overworld."

Seele waved her hand. "That robot is incredibly strong and completely unreasonable. We've clashed with him many times."

Bronya's delicate brows furrowed slightly:

"That's troublesome."

March 7th suddenly asked:

"What about that blue-haired guy? How does he go back and forth between the layers?"

Oleg smiled. "We don't know Sampo's method either. It's his secret—he never shares it with anyone."

Zeig nodded, picked up the salamander meat plate, and poured the rest into his own bowl:

"Yeah, looks like if we want to get back, we'll have to deal with that robot."

March 7th raised an eyebrow: "You were brought down by Sampo too?"

Zeig ate his meat and said seriously:

"Of course. Do you think I, Zeig, could dig my way down?"

Actually, he had left a beacon in the Overworld.

But he was a spy.

With no Silvermane Guards in the Underworld right now, it was better to let Bronya experience the local life properly and leave a good impression on the Underworld people.

With Zeig here, lifting the lockdown between the layers was a sure thing.

What was the rush?

"Hey, you're just scarfing down meat non-stop—can't you think about others? You've almost eaten the whole table yourself." March 7th complained.

Hearing this, Zeig snapped out of his thoughts and looked up:

"Oh, if we finish it, we can just order more. With our commander here, are you going to go hungry?"

Bronya nodded, pulled out more Winter City Shields, and prepared to order again.

"Little miss, hold on." Oleg stopped her with a cheerful smile. "Hey, you're guests—it's only right that I treat you. I'll pay, hahaha."

With that, Oleg had Seele stop Bronya while he got up to talk to Gertie.

Seele pressed Bronya's shoulder and pushed her back into the seat beside Zeig. "Today Chief Oleg is treating—give him face and let him pay."

Bronya sat there, feeling very uncomfortable.

Now that she was in the Underworld—clearly far poorer than the Overworld—others still had to treat her and Zeig to food.

She felt a little guilty:

"Once the lockdown is lifted, I'll treat you all to a meal in the Overworld too." Bronya murmured.

Seele pressed her lips together and nodded nonchalantly. "Sure, though I'm too lazy to go up anyway."

"Why?"

"I don't like the Overworld." With that, Seele returned to her seat.

Soon, Gertie brought more steaming dishes, but Oleg was nowhere to be seen.

Seele asked: "Huh, where did Chief go?"

Gertie smiled and answered:

"He went to handle something. He told me to tell you to eat well and not wait for him."

Seele was silent for a moment, then picked up her chopsticks and began eating furiously.

Devouring like a wolf.

Bronya and March 7th watched in stunned silence.

And Zeig beside Bronya did the same—eating like a beggar who hadn't eaten in three days, chomping nonstop.

Soon, after Seele felt full, she quietly set down her chopsticks.

She wiped her mouth, stood up, and said:

"You guys wander around on your own. I'm going to check on Chief."

Without waiting for anyone at the table to react, she rushed out on her own.

Zeig, meanwhile, was still chomping away.

This annoyed March 7th so much that she stood up and smacked the back of his head:

"Stop eating—Seele's already gone."

Zeig looked up blankly again. "If she's gone, she's gone. She probably has something urgent—why should we get involved?"

Bronya asked blankly: "Executor, are you finished eating?"

Zeig set down his chopsticks, nodded. "Mm, I'm completely full now."

He stood up and said to the two:

"Commander, you keep eating. I'll go look for the other fugitive."

Bronya immediately stood up and hesitated:

"Then… I'll go with you. There are only the two of us from the Overworld down here—it's better not to split up."

Zeig quickly waved his hand:

"No, no—it's fine. You saw the attitude of that Wildfire leader earlier. They won't touch us. Commander, take this chance to properly interrogate this pink-haired one."

March 7th asked curiously:

"Do you know where Dan Heng is? I still haven't found him. He woke up earlier than me and I don't know where he ran off to."

"What's so hard? He's so conspicuous—it won't be difficult to find him."

With that, Zeig left Bronya and the Entanglement behind and walked out of the Goethe Hotel.

March 7th blinked and looked at the silver-haired girl across from her.

She said awkwardly: "Uh, do you have anything else you want to interrogate me about?"

"…"

After a moment of silence, Bronya asked:

"Is Executor Zeig really female?"

"…"
