Chapter 182 - Chapter 182: The Breeding House's Shop Plan

Lucas opened his eyes in the morning and reached out, only to touch Vulpix, who was still fast asleep.

Vulpix, carrying the moltres feather, made the whole bed feel warm and cozy.

The morning chill when he got out of bed woke Vulpix up as well. Seeing Lucas's back as he headed toward the bathroom, it sat up, yawned, stretched its body, and followed him in a daze.

It skillfully hopped onto the washstand and sat there obediently, waiting for Lucas to wash its paws.

After its little face was rubbed with a towel by Lucas for a while, it followed behind him downstairs.

Lucas found Mime Jr. and Shauna having breakfast. Seeing Lucas come downstairs, they greeted him.

"Ni Ni~"

"Uncle, Gengar, good morning."

"Laji~"

Ever since Mime Jr. started running the canteen, it had been getting up early every morning to prepare for the canteen's affairs.

Although it was tiring, looking at Mime Jr.'s expression, it seemed to really enjoy it.

Lucas was also happy to see this; as long as Mime Jr. had something it wanted to do, it was fine.

"Uncle, I'm going to school now."

Shauna, carrying her small schoolbag, finished her last sip of honey goat milk and ran out the door after speaking.

"Okay, be safe."

"gengar sound"

Shauna's voice drifted back from outside.

"Mom and Dad, I'm going to school."

As soon as she finished speaking, the Laji of horse hooves rang out outside.

Gothitelle had helped process the fresh milk early in the morning and loaded it onto Rapidash.

Therefore, after finishing breakfast, Shauna only needed to ride Rapidash to school and deliver the fresh milk to Principal Sachi along the way.

After finishing breakfast, Lucas went to the backyard to handle the Breeding House's affairs. Gengar took out the lawnmower and started weeding, while Lucas, with Gothitelle's help, checked the physical condition of the Pokémon staying at the Breeding House.

Afterward, Lucas went to the planting area. The vegetables looked fresh and succulent; the cucumbers were large and thick, and there were various other vegetables like wax gourds, tomatoes, and eggplants.

Lucas had only recently discovered that the Breeding House's "smooth weather" blessing allowed out-of-season vegetables to grow as well, as long as the preparations were made.

Some of the Chinese herbs had also matured. Lucas looked at the varieties and realized the herbal tea business could start again.

There were also berries; it was truly a bountiful harvest, though unfortunately, there were no rare berries.

He wondered if he could find a way to get some seeds for rare berries to plant in the planting area.

When the time came, all the berries from the Pokémon world would be planted by Lucas in the Breeding House—a complete berry collection!

Unfortunately, his Golden Finger wasn't very helpful and rarely gave him rare berries.

Lucas shook his head.

There were too many berries planted, and plus the forest Pokémon brought some gifts every day. When Lucas went to clear the wooden crates daily, berries accounted for ninety percent of the contents.

Combined with the berries he grew himself, the amount was truly significant.

Lucas didn't like to waste. Perhaps it was because he lived in the Flower Kingdom in his previous life, with Grandpa Yuan as a role model, or perhaps he was influenced by his Grandma in this life, so he was thinking about how to use these berries in large quantities without wasting them.

Using them to make desserts was a good idea, but no one could eat that many desserts.

Lucas suddenly remembered the dessert shop he saw on his way back to the Breeding House yesterday. If the Breeding House also set up a dessert shop in Twinleaf Town, given his own dessert-making skills and those of Gothitelle and Mime Jr., it should sell very well, right?

At that time, herbal tea could also be sold directly there, along with Chinese medicine.

Thinking of this, Lucas took Gothitelle back to the front lounge area and discussed the matter with Gothitelle, Lilligant, and Mime Jr.

Afterward, he also asked for Mr. and Mrs. Fujino's opinions. After all, they were more familiar with these things—at least more than Lucas was.

Mr. Fujino felt that buying a shop wasn't worth it; given the Breeding House's current situation, it would be best if they could rent one.

However, if the shop really opened, the Breeding House would need someone to go over and watch it, and he was afraid Lucas wouldn't be able to manage.

Lucas thought for a moment and felt it wasn't a problem. He could let Gothitelle and other Pokémon stay there to look after and be responsible for the shop while he remained at the Breeding House.

Because items like herbal tea and Chinese medicine needed Gothitelle to be there for better processing and sales.

After the vote decided to proceed, Lucas called Mayor Quinn to ask if there was any vacant space he could rent to open a small shop belonging to the Breeding House.

Mayor Quinn said there were many, but he wasn't free to take Lucas for a site visit right now. After he finished his work in the afternoon, Lucas could go to Twinleaf Town, and he would take him on a site visit, and then Lucas could choose his preferred shop.

Lucas nodded. After hanging up, he led a trainer who had come to pick up their Pokémon from the Breeding House back to their Pokémon. Then, Lucas lay down in the lounge area and turned on the TV to watch.

Today happened to be the live broadcast of the Pokemon Contest in Veilstone City.

Glancing over it today, Lucas seemed to see a few familiar faces.

He had Gengar switch the channel back and found a flamboyantly and gorgeously dressed red-haired woman performing with a Wobbuffet.

After the performance, this woman successfully advanced.

Others might not recognize who she was, but Lucas recognized her at a glance.

Jessie of the Team Rockets trio.

Next to appear was Dawn, who also advanced with Piplup.

Gengar also recognized these two. It wasn't in a hurry to watch cartoons; seeing that Lucas was watching the Pokemon Contest with great interest, it floated to the kitchen to get some snacks and placed them in front of Lucas.

Lucas took a look and pinched the corner of its mouth.

"The more I look at Gengar, the cuter it really gets!"

"gengar~~"

Gengar's big tongue gave Lucas a direct lick.

Subsequently, Lucas's movements became stiff, and his eyes widened.

Seeing this, Lilligant quickly got down from her stool, picked up a Cheri Berry, ran over to Lucas, and stuffed it into his mouth.

"Laji~"

Here comes the berry~

Having regained his mobility, Lucas gave Gengar a flick on the forehead, then bit onto a golden berry stick. He pulled Lilligant to sit in the chair next to him and, in passing, called Roselia over to sit and watch the Pokemon Contest together.

It had to be said that the styles of Pokémon raised by different types of Coordinators were different.

Lucas also saw Anzie, the girl who had come to ask him for an answer, on the TV.

She commanded Glameow to use Swift, making a rain of stars fall on the scene, which was quite a romantic style.

She also advanced to the next round.

Soon it came to the duel between Dawn and Jessie.

A battle in a Pokemon Contest is different from a normal battle; that health bar is the Pokémon's appeal points.

Whichever side runs out first loses. If time runs out and neither side has run out, then the side with more remaining wins.

Lucas could see from the TV that Jessie really enjoyed the stage of the Pokemon Contest.

Thinking carefully, it seemed Jessie's Pokemon Contest level wasn't weak at all; her style was different from most Pokemon Contest contestants.

Her style involved her and her Pokémon blossoming in beauty together; she would complete various movements alongside her Pokémon, showcasing a charm that was not at all inferior to the Pokémon.

At the same time, she thoroughly enjoyed every stage, perhaps because of her original intention to become an actress.

Unfortunately, in the end, Jessie's Carnivine lost to Dawn's Buneary.

Jessie walked off the stage unwillingly, while Dawn continued to advance.

Lucas watched very seriously, and Roselia beside him watched just as intently.

It was also attracted by the charm exuded by the various Pokémon on the TV.

"Can I be like that too?"

It thought silently to itself.

Recalling when it first arrived at the Breeding House—fearful, uneasy, and shy.

Up until now, after spending time with Lilligant and the others, it had begun to become confident.

The flowers on its hands bloomed even more vibrantly.

"I can definitely do it!"

Lucas was drawn by its floral fragrance and turned to see its serious expression.

He reached out and patted its small head.

"As expected of Roselia, known along with Lilligant as the Two Flowers of the Breeding House. You're very beautiful~"

Roselia's face turned red, and it lowered its head shyly.

Lilligant, who was beside them, couldn't stop covering her mouth and giggling.

Roselia and Lilligant were called the Two Flowers of the Breeding House by many guests, and they, along with Gothitelle, were called the Three Golden Flowers of the Breeding House by Lucas.

They were the visual centers of the Breeding House, weren't they?

Standing there, who knows how many Pokémon's eyes they would attract.

"If you want to evolve into Roserade, don't be afraid; you can tell me."

Hearing Lucas say this, the head-lowered Roselia looked up at him and then nodded heavily.

"Ni Ni~"

Okay~

Snatching the snack Gengar was about to put into its own mouth and tossing it into his own, Lucas chewed and continued watching the match on TV.

Gengar: "?!"

"You're so great, you're so noble, you stole my snack!"

"Hmph!"

Gengar shifted its bottom toward Lucas, moving a bit closer.

Lucas was accustomed to Gengar's movements.

In the end, it wasn't Dawn who took the Champion title of this Pokemon Contest.

Instead, it was Anzie, who had visited the Breeding House, who took the Champion title in one fell swoop with her Arcanine.

When she held up the Contest Ribbon, her tears couldn't help but flow.

She had finally obtained a Contest Ribbon too.

"Thank you, Lucas!"

"Thank you, Pachirisu, Glameow, Aipom, and Arcanine."

"Thank you all, I love you."

Seeing this, Lucas nodded with satisfaction.

Then he handed the remote to Gengar, letting it continue watching cartoons.

He himself closed his eyes and rested for a while.

Opening his eyes to check the time, he asked, "Do you want to come to Twinleaf Town with me?"

Without hesitation, Gengar turned off the TV, then did a catapult start from the chair, floating in the air.

Lucas stood up and stretched his waist, "Vulpix~"

Vulpix quickly scurried out from behind the counter and jumped into the arms of the crouching Lucas, lying there quietly.

"Gothitelle, let's go. We're going to find a shop for you to sell herbal tea and Chinese medicine."

"Goth." (Gothitelle Laji)

Coming.

Gothitelle finished the work at hand and floated to Lucas's side.

Since evolving into Gothitelle, it had been using mental power to float in the air just like Gengar.

After asking a Gogoat for help, Lucas sat on the Gogoat holding Vulpix.

"Lilligant, Roselia, I'm counting on you to look after the Breeding House."

"Laji~"

"Ni Ni~"

Passing by the canteen, Lucas shouted toward it.

"Mr. Fujino, Mrs. Fujino, I'll leave things to you. And Mime Jr., keep up the good work."

"Okay." "Don't worry."

"Mime Jr.~"

Lucas then leisurely rode the Gogoat straight toward Twinleaf Town.
