Chapter 224 - Chapter 224: Next Time...

From the bed to the floor, Lucas, who had rolled into Ninetales' arms while holding Mime Jr., felt like he couldn't breathe and opened his eyes.

He found Ninetales resting its head right on his chest.

Lucas struggled to escape from under Ninetales' head, taking deep breaths of air.

Since Ninetales could only sleep on the floor after evolving, Lucas had specially installed carpets on the room's floor to make it more comfortable for it.

Ninetales was awakened by Lucas's movements, opening its fox-like eyes to look at him in confusion.

What's wrong with you?

Lucas gave it a flat look, "Don't you know your own weight? And yet you still rub your head against my chest."

Ninetales giggled.

Then it extended its fox head and gently nuzzled Lucas's chest.

Lucas grabbed the fox's head and gave it a good rub.

"You're so cute, Ninetales."

Ninetales became even happier.

Mime Jr. also woke up, crawled up from the floor, came to Lucas, and opened its small hands.

Lucas smiled and picked up Mime Jr.

"Mime Jr., oh Mime Jr., how can there be such a cute and sensible Pokémon? If it weren't for you, our Breeding House would probably go hungry."

Lucas held Mime Jr. up high and said with a smile.

"Gurgle~"

The Gengar nearby "pretended" to play along, its stomach making a sound.

Lucas glanced at it, and it sheepishly patted its little belly.

Hehe.

The room was instantly filled with happy laughter.

Lucas stood up. Snorunt was not in the room. As the weather got colder, Snorunt preferred spending the night outside, so it had gone to the Lake area to stay with Lapras and the others; the nighttime temperature suited it better.

Once winter arrived and it started snowing, it would probably be even better.

Lucas went to the balcony, took a deep breath, stretched, and thought.

"Morning, Cynthia. What do you want for breakfast?"

Lucas asked as he greeted Cynthia, who was sitting opposite him reading a book.

Cynthia smiled sweetly, "Porridge."

"Alright, got it."

After finishing breakfast, Lucas sat on Ninetales' back and took milk to send Shauna to school.

Carrying the ingredients he bought back, Lucas put them in the kitchen, went to the Lake area, jumped onto Big Brother's back, and came to Cynthia's side.

"Winter is coming soon. Shall we make dumplings for lunch?"

"dumplings? Is that another food from Kanto?"

Cynthia closed her book, took off her glasses, and asked.

"Yeah."

Lucas nodded, "It seems like since I arrived here, I haven't eaten dumplings either."

Lucas lay on Lapras's back, looking at the sky and muttering to himself.

Looking at him, Cynthia felt a strange pang of sympathy.

"Sure, I'm looking forward to it. It seems like all food from Kanto is delicious; there doesn't seem to be anything that isn't good."

O

Lucas sat up instantly, "That's for sure! Let me tell you, the Kanto—"

When Lucas spoke to Cynthia about the Kanto region, he became more and more excited, moving on to other topics.

Cynthia didn't find him noisy; she just listened quietly, occasionally asking questions or showing great interest.

The Sinnoh region and the Kanto region were separated by an ocean. Perhaps Lucas was homesick.

Cynthia thought to herself.

Then she sat there, listening quietly.

After Lucas finished, he looked at Cynthia listening quietly and felt a bit embarrassed, scratching the back of his head, "Sorry, was I too noisy? Did I disturb your reading?"

Cynthia tilted her head and asked in confusion, "Why apologize? I was already very interested in the Kanto, and after hearing you talk, I'm even more interested. This is knowledge you can't learn from books."

Hearing Cynthia's words, Lucas was stunned for a long while before he laughed.

"Thank you, Cynthia."

"You're welcome, Uncle~"

Cynthia intentionally elongated the last word.

Seeing the expression on Lucas's face, Cynthia laughed happily.

Along with Lilligant and the others.

Lucas feigned a punch at her, then patted Big Brother's little head.

"Want to try making dumplings?"

Cynthia's eyes lit up, "Can I?"

"Come on, I'll teach you."

Cynthia jumped onto the shore, handed her book and glasses to Garchomp, and followed Lucas to the kitchen.

After Lucas did the prep work, he took a piece of dough in his hand, rolled it with a wooden pin that Gengar had bought but never used, then put in the filling and pinched it.

Mission accomplished.

"See? It's simple."

Cynthia nodded, "Move over, let me try."

Lucas stepped aside, and Cynthia tried to imitate him. In the end, because she put in too much filling, she had to patch it up here and there, resulting in a complete mess.

Lucas held his breath, trying hard not to laugh.

The Garchomp nearby accidentally let out a laugh. Cynthia narrowed her eyes, and Garchomp instantly bared its scythes, holding them against Lucas's neck.

You still dare to laugh?

Lucas: ————

Oh, Great Magistrate, I've been wronged!

Finally, after watching Lucas make a few more and practicing for a while, Cynthia was finally able to make decent-looking dumplings.

"That really wore me out."

Cynthia looked at the dumplings she had made, nodded with satisfaction, and said with her hands on her hips.

"It really wore our Miss Cynthia out. Leave the rest to me."

Satisfied, Cynthia handed the main spot to Lucas and Mime Jr., then took Gengar and the others to another spot to make dumplings together.

By the time Lucas finished the last dumpling in his hand, he breathed a sigh of relief. The entire kitchen was piled with dumplings.

Mime Jr. wiped the sweat from its forehead, leaving three white lines on itself. Lucas couldn't help but laugh. Seeing that Cynthia and the others were still making dumplings, he picked up Mime Jr. and walked over.

He was shocked by what he saw.

All sorts of bizarrely shaped dumplings were lying on the table.

There was a pig, one shaped like Gengar, one like Ninetales, and even one shaped like Guo Bao Rou————

Garchomp's was even more excessive.

It was simply a dumpling as big as a face.

It was entirely filled with meat.

"kao!"

What are you looking at? Got a problem?

Lucas shook his head, no, no.

Cynthia finished the animal-shaped dumpling in her hand and looked up. Lucas saw that her face was covered in flour.

Gengar and the others were the same, especially Gengar, who had already reached its Mega Form.

Lucas took a deep breath and then exhaled.

Can't get angry, can't get angry.

"Finished?"

Lucas asked gently.

"Yeah."

Cynthia nodded.

"Gengar gar—"

Yay!

"Lilli~"

"Ni~"

Then let's boil the dumplings~

Glug, glug.

The dumplings were ready, and all the people and Pokémon ate very happily.

"It really is delicious."

Cynthia was content, eating a dumpling shaped like Guo Bao Rou.

Garchomp sat to the side, eating its own giant dumpling.

Seeing that Cynthia seemed a bit reluctant to leave, Lucas smiled and said, "Should I pack some for you to take back?"

"Yes."

A bright smile appeared on Cynthia's face again.

After the meal, Lucas packed some dumplings and gave them to Gengar to take to Gothitelle and the children in the daycare to try. Then he had Lickitung take some to share with Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy, Grandpa Manny and Grandma, and Grandpa Yask.

Finally, Lucas brought several insulated boxes in a bag to Cynthia and handed them to her.

"Next time you come over, we'll make steamed buns together."

"Okay."

Cynthia took the dumplings and jumped onto Garchomp's back.

"Cynthia."

Cynthia looked down at Lucas.

"Next time—"

Lucas stopped.

"What's wrong?"

Cynthia asked.

Lucus laughed, "Nothing, I look forward to your next visit."

Cynthia: "Okay~"

With that, she disappeared before Lucus like a jet fighter.

"I still need to become a bit stronger," Lucas muttered to himself.

Finally, he returned to the Breeding House.

Cynthia stood on Garchomp's back, feeling the warmth of the insulated boxes in her hand.

"Garchomp, I'm really looking forward to it."

"kao!"

Defeat me first.
