Chapter 358 - Chapter 358: Eternatus, Lord of the Distortion World

Early in the morning, Lucas walked out of his room and heard the dull sound of fists hitting flesh coming from the yard.

Lucas walked over and found Bea sparring with Dash, trading punches and kicks back and forth.

Lucas: ————

"Master Lucas, you're awake?"

Bea asked politely when she saw Lucas come out.

"Ni-keh!"

"Don't look around!"

Then, a fist the size of a volleyball came hurtling toward Bea. Crossing her arms in front of her chest, she blocked the punch with sheer physical force.

After taking a few steps back, Bea shook her hair and assumed a karate stance. "Yes!"

She then kicked out at Dash.

Lucas: ————

Lucas knew Dash's strength all too well. Yet, Bea was able to trade blows with Dash barehanded, using only her physical body—was she even human?

I get it now. Bea, you're actually a Machamp too, aren't you?

Lucas watched as the battle reached a fever pitch. Dash took on Bea and her Pokémon all by herself, yet she easily held the upper hand. After knocking Machamp and the others down with her fists, she resumed her one-on-one duel with Bea.

Lucas remembered that the last person who could go back and forth with Dash was Ash, who had literally thrown Dash. Now, Bea was the second, trading blows with Dash barehanded.

Even though Dash was holding back, still—

This is completely unscientific.

Lucas thought.

Dash broke through Bea's guard and kicked her, sending her flying back.

"Ni-keh."

"Don't forget that you can also attack with your legs."

Bea laughed as she stumbled to her feet, wiped the dirt off her face, and responded loudly, "Yes!"

Seeing this, Dash withdrew her fists, satisfied.

Today's special battle training was over.

Bea let out a sigh of relief. Machamp, Machoke, Machop, and Grapploct, who were all collapsed on the ground, also let out a collective sigh of relief.

The next second, Dash walked over to them, looking down with cold eyes as she delivered their death sentence.

"Ni-keh!"

"You guys are still not up to standard. Get up and keep training!"

Machamp and the others let out painful wails.

Highly displeased, Dash slammed her four fists together, creating a powerful shockwave and a loud boom. Instantly, smiles plastered themselves onto the faces of Machamp and the others.

"Ni-keh."

"At the Breeding House, even Gogoat is stronger than you guys. How do you have the nerve to rest? Even the milk-producing Miltank can trade blows with me, but what about you guys!"

Lucas: Of course they're strong. Their daily routine is basically producing milk, wrestling, eating, wrestling, wrestling, wrestling, and sleeping—

Or being dragged by you to act as sparring partners.

Machamp and the others stood up, shouting back defiantly.

Without another word, Dash launched an attack on them.

Bea walked over to Lucas. "Lucas."

The butler nearby handed Bea a towel, which she took to wipe the dirt and sweat from her face.

This was in Stow-on-Side, at the martial arts dojo run by Bea's family, where they taught karate.

Bea had not yet received her Gym Leader certification, so the Stow-on-Side Gym had not been established yet.

At Bea's suggestion, Lucas had come to stay at the dojo for a couple of days to let Dash give Bea some proper guidance.

"How is it? How are the results of training under Dash?"

Lucas asked with a smile.

"Yes, it's highly effective! Master Dash pointed out the flaws in my combat style and even taught me her unique fist techniques. Just now, Master Dash was helping me integrate her techniques into my own martial arts. As long as I keep practicing, I believe I will definitely become stronger."

After speaking, Bea demonstrated the results of today's training to Lucas.

Just as Bea's fist was about to graze him, a chubby purple hand pulled Lucas back.

Gengar squinted its eyes at Bea.

Bea quickly apologized, "I am so sorry, I didn't mean to!"

Lucas wiped the sweat from his forehead. If that punch had hit him, wouldn't it have hurt like hell? Especially a punch that could trade blows with Dash—

"It's fine, it's fine. Just be careful next time."

Lucas said.

"However, Master Dash's fist style seems different from other martial arts. I once trained under Master Chuck for a period, and Master Chuck showed me other schools of martial arts, but this is the first time I've seen a style like Master Dash's."

Bea said.

"That's because I taught it to Dash. It's a Martial Arts style."

Lucas raised an eyebrow and said.

In truth, he had simply told Dash stories from wuxia novels—things like the Eighteen Subduing Dragon Palms and Iron Sand Palm. Over time, Dash had figured out her own style through day after day of rigorous training.

"I see. Is Lucas a martial arts master as well?"

Bea was deeply astonished, then sighed with regret. "It's a pity there isn't a tournament dedicated to martial arts. If there were, powerful martial artists from all over the world could gather to exchange their techniques and styles."

Dash, who had approached them at some point, heard this and her eyes lit up.

A martial arts tournament? I want that so much—

Seeing Dash staring at him expectantly, Lucas sighed.

"Look, there's nothing I can do. I don't know any of those famous martial artists either—"

Dash drooped her head.

(Tough girl feeling wronged)

Realizing that Dash had almost never asked him for anything, and since she wanted so badly to spar with other famous martial artists and Pokémon, he figured he might as well give it a try to make her happy. After all, she was one of his favorite Pokémon and an indispensable part of the Breeding House.

"Alright, alright. After spring comes, if things aren't too busy, I'll coordinate with Cynthia and the others to try and host a trial tournament, okay?"

Dash snapped her head up.

"Let me warn you beforehand, it might not succeed. So if it falls through, you can't blame me."

Lucas gave her a preemptive warning.

Dash grinned, then suddenly lunged forward and pulled Lucas into a tight embrace.

Lucas: ?!

Gentle... suffocating... I'm suffocating—

Gengar on the side: ∑(OA|1I)

Dash used Crush Grip on Lucas! Chotto matte! Let go! Or we're going to be dead meat in a second!

Gengar frantically slapped Dash's arm from the side.

Dash let go and scratched her head.

My bad, I got too excited.

Lucas gasped desperately for oxygen.

He had almost suffocated to death.

Just as Lucas was about to speak, he saw Dash fly through the air and land headfirst in the dirt.

Gengar followed immediately after.

Gengar: ?! Me too?!

Before Bea could register what was happening, she saw Gothitelle float over.

With eyes full of murderous intent, Gothitelle raised her hand, powerful psychic power gathering in her palm.

Lucas quickly placed his hands on Gothitelle's shoulders and said with a smile, "I'm starving. Is breakfast ready? Let's go eat."

Distracted by Lucas, Gothitelle dispersed her psychic power, gave him a look, and then led him away to have breakfast.

Taking advantage of Gothitelle not looking, Lucas turned back and gestured to Bea.

Bea: ???

She turned to the butler beside her. "Did Lucas want to tell me something just now?"

The butler hesitated before speaking, "Perhaps he wanted you, Milady, to pull... dig Master Dash and the other out?"

Realizing what he meant, Bea quickly ran toward Dash and Gengar.

"Ni-keh?!"

"Master Dash, what's wrong?!"

Bea's Pokémon returned from their run and found Dash and Gengar planted straight in the dirt. They quickly rushed over and, together with Bea, dug them out.

Dash patted her head to brush off the dirt, showing a smile.

Gengar: ————Damn you, Dash!

Hmph!

Gengar shook the dirt off its body, floated through the wall, and headed toward the dining table.

After breakfast, Lucas sat in the yard and watched Dash guide Bea for a while until lunch was over.

Lucas walked into the yard just as Bea's guidance session ended. He walked over to Bea and patted her shoulder.

"We're leaving now."

Bea: "Has it been two days already?"

Lucas nodded. It had been several days since he came to the Galar region, and it was time to head back to Sinnoh.

"Alright then."

Lucas gestured to Dash, who patted Bea on the shoulder.

"Ni-keh."

"Make sure to train hard!"

Bea nodded firmly. Over the past two days, she and Dash had built a deep bond. Perhaps because they were both girls and shared a love for martial arts, they got along very well.

"Listen to your Master Dash. Train your martial arts and fist techniques well, and pass the Stow-on-Side Gym exam to become a Gym Leader. Otherwise, if I do host a martial arts tournament, I won't invite you."

Bea's eyes widened. "Lucas, are you really going to host a martial arts tournament?"

Lucas didn't give her a direct answer. "Perhaps.

"Yes! Machamp and the others will definitely practice hard! Then, we'll go participate in the tournament."

Bea straightened her posture, and Machamp and Grapploct did the same.

Seeing this, Lucas nodded in satisfaction. He recalled Machamp and the others into their Poké Balls and mounted Latias.

"Take care. If you ever feel lost in the future, you can come to the Breeding House between Twinleaf Town and Sandgem Town in the Sinnoh region. I'll be waiting for you there."

When the time comes, I'll have Dash, Machoke, and Vex all take the field. A good beating will clear up any confusion.

"Alright, I'll remember that!"

Lucas nodded, waved his hand, and Latias soared straight into the sky.

Bea stared at Lucas's vanishing figure for a long time. Then, she looked down at Machamp and the others. "We must continue our training too. We can't let Lucas and Master Dash down!"

Machamp and the others roared in agreement.

Just then, her phone rang.

"Hello, Miss Oleana."

Bea greeted, and a female voice came through.

"Is this Bea?"

"Yes."

"Have you prepared for the Gym exam today? If you are ready, someone will pick you up shortly for the assessment. If not—"

"I'm ready!"

The caller was clearly startled by Bea's loud response before replying, "Alright, I'll send someone over to pick you up."

With that, she hung up the phone.

Bea: "Great! We must succeed today. Let's show them the results of our training over the last two days!"

"Ni-keh!"

Lucas sat on Latias's back, burying his face in his scarf to shield himself from the cold.

While flying over a massive mountain, the sky suddenly grew dark.

Thick dark clouds quickly gathered, bringing with them an extremely oppressive atmosphere.

Lucas looked up. "No way. Are we really that unlucky? Is it going to rain?"

Lucas wailed.

Latias, however, scrunched up her face and steadily increased her speed.

The Poké Ball on his belt shook slightly, transmitting some information to Lucas. Instantly, his face fell.

Meanwhile, in a conference room on the other side...

"Report, an energy signature from Eternatus has been detected."

A staff member wearing glasses looked up and reported.

"Lock onto its position."

A blonde woman with a somewhat high hairline said calmly.

"Yes."

Not long after, "Lock successful. Wait, there's someone there."

Oleana instantly walked over to the screen, staring at the figure. She discovered that Lucas, who had been running away, had suddenly stopped and was looking up at the sky.

"Is he crazy? Why isn't he running?"

Oleana gritted her teeth and said, then asked: "Is there any way to go and pick him up?"

The conference room fell into silence.

Oleana sighed, looked at Lucas on the screen with some regret, then stood up and returned to her seat.

Lucas watched the figure looming in the clouds, patted Latias on the head, and Latias stopped, hovering quietly in the air.

Lucas looked up, staring intently at the figure looming in the clouds.

He clutched the pendant he had pulled from around his neck, his expression calm.

The three names flickered in his mind.

A massive dragon-like Pokémon poked its head out from the clouds, staring at Lucas below.

At the first sight of Eternatus, Lucas inexplicably held his breath.

Eternatus, both in terms of size and appearance, exerted an overwhelming sense of pressure, especially with the seemingly violent energy swirling around it.

Immediately after, Eternatus's body emerged from the clouds, its massive form fully revealed before Lucas's eyes.

Lucas stared at the Eternatus before him.

It was composed of a substance emitting a red glow, with attached deep purple matter resembling an exoskeleton or armor, giving it the appearance of a dragon skeleton. Its head was triangular, a translucent red membrane-like structure with five long, backward-extending spikes attached to it.

On the front were a pair of eye-like spots made of three white circles, and a slender, toothed lower jaw made of deep purple matter. Its body and tail were thin and long, covered in deep purple, spike-bearing, vertebrae-shaped matter, resembling a spine.

Eternatus...

Eternatus stared at Lucas. It didn't understand why Lucas wasn't afraid; it couldn't sense any fear from him, which made it very displeased.

It was even more displeased when Gengar and Gothitelle appeared beside Lucas.

It opened its mouth, preparing to gather the power to destroy everything.

Suddenly, it felt several complex auras emanating from the human in front of it. Even the red-and-white Pokémon he was riding had changed into a purple-and-white body, looking like a fighter jet and emitting an aura that made it somewhat wary.

(Plane Sister)

(So you're the one called Eternatus?)

"Wait! The Pokémon it's riding has changed. Is that a Legendary Pokémon? Latias?"

Oleana returned to the screen, watching the Mega Evolution of Latias.

"Can Legendary Pokémon also perform Mega Evolution..."

Meanwhile, Lucas was locked in a death stare with Eternatus.

Lucas clenched his palm.

Eternatus instantly raised its head, looking into the distance.

That guy from the sea? Why is that guy here?

???

Eternatus's confusion grew. The aura of time and space?

Why are those two here?

And where did that shadow aura come from?

Where did the aura of the forest come from?

"Well, do you want to fight?"

Eternatus lowered its head, looking at Lucas who had spoken.

"Eternatus, want to have a fight?"

Eternatus remained silent for a long time, looked up at the seaside, then flew into the clouds and left just like that.

You should have said earlier that you knew so many Pokémon...

Especially that madman who attacks everyone on sight, and those two from time and space—who would dare to fight them?

Remembering what it had seen on the sea, Eternatus sped up its departure.

Conference room.

"Et...Eternatus, left?"

Oleana was shocked, and immediately after, she saw a Legendary Bird descend from the sky.

Lugia descended with Aeroblast, looking left and right.

"That guy ran away?"

Lucas nodded, and then Latias returned to its original form.

"Tch."

Lugia clicked its tongue, canceled the Aeroblast state, and shook its head.

"It got away again, otherwise I would have beaten it up this time."

Lugia said.

Lucas rode Latias and headed toward the seaside with Lugia.

"You really hate it?"

"Ask those guys; how many of them don't hate it? An outsider, only daring to hide in the Galar region."

Lugia's voice rang out.

"Do you believe that as soon as it goes to the Sinnoh region, those two from time and space, and that guy from the Distortion World, will join forces to beat it up immediately? Even Regigigas, who offended Arceus, would wake up to give it a slap. Even if it doesn't go to the Sinnoh region and goes to the Hoenn region, Groudon and Kyogre could put aside their hostility to fight it together. Even that guy in the sky would return immediately, not to mention the one on the Tower of Resurrection, and the others sleeping elsewhere."

Lucas was thoughtful, "What about that one in space?"

Lugia didn't react for a moment, "Necrozma?"

Lucas nodded.

"That one in the sky is watching."

Rayquaza?

It seems the Pokémon in this world aren't very welcoming to outsiders.

Lucas thought.

Meanwhile, in the conference room in the Galar region.

"That is... the Sea Guardian, Lugia? Who exactly is he?"

While Lucas and the others were rushing back to the Sinnoh region, in the Sinnoh region.

Beside a quiet Lake.

A bright blue quadrupedal Pokémon suddenly emerged. It had been on its way to the Galar region, but who knew Lucas would cancel the summon halfway through.

Dialga let out an angry roar.

It was already annoyed from having fought Palkia. It had thought it could go over and fight that guy, but it had given up.

(Famous scene: Dialga drinking water)

Damn Lucas...

Dialga suddenly remembered the scene where it and Palkia had been beaten into a pit. After thinking about it, it lowered its head to drink water.

In the bushes nearby, a green Pokémon was hiding, watching the giant Dialga, trembling.

At the bottom of the Lake, in another dimension.

A Pokémon stared at Dialga drinking water on the mirror-like surface. Its body kept swimming, and then, catching Dialga off guard, it lunged out and bit Dialga's neck.

Dialga felt the pain, roared angrily, and wanted to break free, but it was tightly constricted by this Pokémon and dragged back beneath the mirror surface.

"Roar!"

Dialga disappeared into the mirror surface, and the Lake returned to calm.

The bushes were empty.

Dragged back into the Distortion World, Dialga shook off Giratina and roared angrily at it.

"Roar!"

You damn bastard! You're coming to bully me too?!

Already frustrated from not getting a fight, Dialga angrily rammed into it, sending Giratina flying and crashing heavily into the ruins of the Distortion World.

Beneath the ruins, a green Pokémon was fleeing in terror.

As the God of Time, Dialga was very strong, but this was the Distortion World, the territory of the Lord of the Distortion, Giratina, so it was continuously beaten by Giratina.

"Roar!"

If you have the guts, come out and we'll fight again!

Giratina lurked behind Dialga and struck a heavy blow.

"Roar!"

Just wait until I get out!

Boom!

"Roar!"

You damn...

Boom!

Dialga crashed heavily beside Shaymin. Shaymin was so scared that a strong light erupted from its body, and then it forcibly opened the gate to the Distortion World.

Shaymin tumbled a few times and escaped the Distortion World.

Dialga followed behind, wanting to leave, but was again constricted by Giratina's body and dragged back. Dialga struggled to break free, and catching Giratina off guard, used Roar of Time to escape the Distortion World.

Giratina followed closely behind, but every time it touched the entrance, it would instantly return to the moment it was hit by Dialga.

The most useful episode of the God of Time.

Giratina was trapped in its own time by Dialga.

A night passed, and Lucas was still happily chatting with Lugia.

"Ahead is the Sinnoh region. I miss it so much."

Lucas said with a smile: "Finally, I can slack off properly."

While crossing the Mt. Coronet range, Latias's voice rang out.

"Lucas, look, there are so many flowers below."

Lucas looked down, "Oh, you're right, a whole field full of flowers."

Latias's voice rang out again: "I really miss the flowers at the Breeding House, too."

"Then let's fly lower and let you see them."

"Okay."

Lugia watched from high in the sky as Lucas and Latias played in the flower field.

"Shaymin, don't worry, we will take you to the flower field."

A familiar voice.

"Shaymin..."

Shaymin cried out weakly.

The next second.

Ash and the others were directly dragged into the Distortion World.

Latias in the flower field carried Lucas straight into the sky, flying toward the Breeding House, when suddenly a void appeared before them. Latias couldn't brake in time and crashed straight into it.

Lugia: ???

Just as the opening was about to close, Lugia transformed into a Legendary Bird and crashed inside.

The Legendary Birds of Sinnoh watched as Lucas and Lugia suddenly disappeared.

Moltres: ???

Zapdos: What happened?

Articuno: Where are the boss and Lucas?

Distortion World.

Lucas looked at the environment he was in and fell into silence.

When you're down on your luck, even drinking cold water hurts your teeth.

Lugia took a look, "Oh? We've come to that guy's world?"

Lugia looked around curiously and said with a smile.

Lucas: ...

"Giratina... I have no grudge against you, why did you pull me in here..."

Lucas gritted his teeth.

Giratina had been chasing Ash and the others and Shaymin, when suddenly it felt several unfamiliar yet familiar auras in the Distortion World. It looked back.

???

Why did that madman come here?! And that guy, isn't he the human who solved the Palkia and Dialga issue? How did he suddenly appear in the Distortion World?

Oh no, I pulled the wrong person...

--

Dialga, you remember this; I'll settle this score with you later.

Having said that, Giratina abandoned Ash and the others and rushed toward Lucas and Lugia, using the Distortion World to set up a series of illusions for Lucas.

Just stay there for now; I'll apologize to you after I deal with Dialga.

Giratina thought of those three Legendary Birds and couldn't help but shiver.
