Chapter 191 - Adding Another Fox to the Ranks

Since Yakumo Ran joined them, the night had been very lively.

The girls, having fully experienced the life of a Kamen Rider for a whole day, returned to the resort hotel. There, they saw the fluffy little fox in Sora's hands.

Ran's adorable appearance completely captivated them; they stared at her, mesmerized.

Yukino, especially, being a cat person, could not take her eyes off of her.

"Cute, isn't she?" Toya came to Yukino's side, a teasing glint in his eyes. "Don't worry, you can pet her. She won't bite."

"This little fox is very gentle, an absolutely top-tier sweet personality."

Yukino shook her head, struggling. "No, I don't like foxes."

Toya let out a light chuckle. "Really? But your eyes are screaming that you can't bear to look away."

No girl could refuse the charm of a little white fox and a nine-tailed one at that.

Especially when this fox had eaten a bit too much, lying lazily on the table, not moving.

Its simple-minded, lazy posture even made a guy like him want to rush up and give the fox's head a good rub.

With Toya's persuasion, Yukino's gaze wavered even more.

She really liked this little fox, especially since it looked so much like a little cat.

There are so many people here, I can't let them know I like cats…

Toya smiled slightly and turned to leave.

"You won't be able to escape," he said.

After speaking, he found a spot with an excellent view and sat down to appreciate the beautiful night sky of the Mountains.

Toya savored some red tea, his brow furrowing slightly. He recalled that Yakumo Ran was seemingly skilled at all kinds of housework, and was particularly excellent at making tea.

I should try her tea another day.

To the side, Ran's nine large, fluffy tails gave a slight shake. She suddenly felt a strange chill.

This feeling is so dangerous, like Yukari-sama is watching…

But Yukari-sama isn't in this world, so why do I feel this way?

Then, Ran unintentionally noticed Toya's smile and understood immediately.

Toya sensed Ran's wary gaze and was utterly confused. "Ran, what's wrong?"

"Kawashima, did you just have some very bad thoughts?" Ran didn't hide it, asking in a voice only she and Toya could hear.

"How did you know?" Toya once again marveled at Yakumo Ran's keen perception. "I heard you're a shikigami with all-round domestic skills."

"Since you can't be certain when you'll return home for now, how about you act as a maid first?"

Sending Ran back to Gensokyo was a distant dream; it would take at least ten years.

In the meantime, he might as well enjoy the services of a fox maid.

He was sure that Ran's master, Yakumo Yukari, wouldn't say anything.

Ran was silent for a moment. "Fine, but on one condition."

"You are not allowed to pull my tail."

"I can't promise other things, but this point alone, I can guarantee." Toya's smile grew wider. "I'm not Yakumo Yukari, and I won't engage in her behaviors."

"The work every day is guaranteed to be within normal hours; there won't be any overtime work."

"Whether you want to eat fried tofu or any other food, just mention it, and it will be prepared the next day."

In Gensokyo, Yakumo Yukari could be described as having exploited Ran to the limit.

All sorts of household chores were completely thrust upon Ran, and she even made all kinds of troublesome demands.

This resulted in Ran frequently being under immense stress, which is how she came to have the title 'Sugo-Tenko'.

From time to time, her nine large, fluffy tails would shed fur, and there were even cases where she would go bald.

"Since you agree to my condition, I can temporarily act as a maid." Ran nodded slightly, agreeing to Toya's condition.

She needed Toya's help to return to Gensokyo; she couldn't just eat and drink for free indefinitely, it wasn't appropriate from any perspective.

The next morning, Toya had lost interest in appreciating the beautiful scenery, lazily lying in the resort hotel's exclusive sightseeing area.

Kasugano Sora and the others had begun to have a snowball fight, and all sorts of playful activities had completely commenced.

Toya watched the girls' games, feeling emotional in his heart. "As expected, boys can't fit into girls' games."

"Only video games can pass the idle time."

Saying that, he took out his high-tech smartphone that he hadn't used in a long time and logged into a game he hadn't played for a while.

Beside him, Yakumo Ran lay on the table like an exquisite and adorable pet.

She would need to wait until she followed Toya back to Japan to turn back into her human form.

The spiritual energy of the Country had completely dried up; turning back into human form would only increase her burden.

Toya expertly logged into the game that he hadn't played for a while, looking with great interest at the one after another messages constantly being sent.

"Gabriel?"

"It's been so long, and yet you still hold a grudge?"

"Tsk tsk, she's completely a trash angel now."

Although he hadn't logged into the game for a period of time, Gabriel's emails were persevering.

At least two per day, and the content was very simple.

[Get out here now. I've beaten the best gear and have the highest level. Let me crush you. —Gabriel]

"What's the use of that?" Toya took a look at Gabriel's equipment and sneered disdainfully. "Let me show you the ultimate life-altering cheat for luck!"

The game he and Gabriel played was highly free and grand, but there was one point that was very significant.

And that was changing your fate through microtransactions or sheer luck.

In the game, there were paths of gacha for equipment or collecting items to use in the gacha for microtransaction equipment.

A normal player could completely be on par with top-tier players if their luck was just right.

[System Notice: You have acquired: 'God of Luck' (1 Minute). Cost: 10 Origin Points.]

Toya sneered as he watched Gabriel's character, who had already raised a blade and was rushing towards him. "Let me show you the power of sheer luck."

He quickly claimed the items that the system had provided for free, and completely exchanged them into items for the gacha.

As he clicked the gacha button, golden legendary light after another continued to emerge.

The entire server of players instantly exploded, looking at the most prominent announcement.

"What is this?" Gabriel's character stood dazed on the spot, unable to believe the scene she was seeing.

The hated character named 'Trash Fox' was continuously radiating flashes of golden legendary light.

The first… the second…

Ten lights in a row, all of them were the dazzling golden legendary light.

"Not bad, all the equipment is completely sorted."

"The 'God of Luck' cheat from exchanging ten Origin points, as expected, is very effective."

Toya nodded with immense satisfaction, putting all the equipment on.

In the next second, the entire game server's only set of the strongest equipment was completely equipped.

"Gabriel, is it? Angel, is it?"

His power was sufficiently strong, and Toya no longer needed to worry about Gabriel's threat, so he began to mock.

With one sword strike, Gabriel's character's health bar was completely emptied.

Toya controlled his character to move beside Gabriel's character and continuously laughed mockingly. "Please, is this what you call a duel?"

"And to think you said you'd let me take a hit, you're too weak."

In an apartment somewhere in Tokyo, Japan.

An apartment room, dark and without light, with only a computer screen emitting light.
