Chapter 136 - Invading Stansfield's Villa Alone

The FBI arrived much slower than expected, nearly an hour later.

Only then did Hunter hear a knock at the door.

By this time, the intruders who had broken into Mathilda's home had been gone for almost half an hour.

Hunter opened the door to the knocking and invited the two FBI agents he had met that afternoon into his home.

About a dozen other personnel arrived with them.

The vast majority went to Michael's apartment.

A small number went around knocking on doors, questioning residents about god knows what.

Both Hunter and Mathilda were questioned by the FBI for a while.

He naturally answered whatever was asked, but kept his answers vague.

After all, as a neighbor, it wasn't strange to hear gunshots and see something while hiding behind a door.

But if he knew every little detail...

That would be what aroused suspicion!

Mathilda didn't know who had broken into their home, but the FBI's interrogation techniques were superb.

They still managed to extract from her that her father, Michael, was helping someone hide things in the house.

Consequently, the FBI took a bunch of photos inside Mathilda's home.

After someone left with three body bags... not long after, they started rummaging through Mathilda's home again.

Hunter wasn't sure if they eventually found anything.

But judging by their appearance, they probably did.

Anyway, when the FBI agents finally withdrew...

Hunter saw smiles on their faces to varying degrees, clearly indicating they had found something significant.

As for Mathilda, she was taken away by the FBI.

She was the daughter of the victim, Michael. The FBI clearly had ideas about extracting more information from her.

Hunter didn't stop this, nor could he.

However, after Mathilda was taken away...

Hunter quickly pretended to pack a few clothes and left the apartment as well.

Using the multiple deaths in the building within a single day as a pretext...

Hunter finally moved out of the apartment monitored by the FBI, openly and legitimately.

Moreover, he had just reported to the FBI during the day...

That Michael in his building was hiding drugs for Stansfield. By night, Michael had been "handled" by Stansfield and his men.

Although the FBI didn't catch Stansfield red-handed when they arrived after Hunter's call...

They must have found useful information or evidence in Michael's home.

Connecting this to the fact that an FBI agent monitoring Hunter was shot dead during a home invasion earlier that day...

For the coming period, their energy would likely be mostly diverted by Stansfield.

The majority of Hunter's plan had already succeeded.

Riding his motorcycle, he soon arrived at the hotel he had booked for the good neighbor lady, Margie.

Hunter wasn't sure if the FBI didn't have Margie's contact information...

Or if there was some other reason.

In short, when Hunter arrived at the hotel and entered the room he rented...

He was greeted by a barrage of complaints from the usually enthusiastic neighbor lady.

Immediately after, the two took a shower together and began their "deep communication" as usual.

Several hours later, looking at Margie, who had finally fallen asleep from exhaustion after having her fill of fun...

Relying on his physical fitness, which was now three times that of an ordinary person, Hunter didn't feel tired at all. He got up and took a shower in the bathroom.

He hesitated for a moment but didn't tell Margie what had happened at her home just yet.

After showering, Hunter quickly changed into fresh clothes.

After applying a layer of mosquito repellent all over his body...

Hunter quietly left the hotel and vanished into the night.

Under the cover of darkness, he stealthily made his way near Stansfield's residence and lay in wait.

This wait lasted the entire night.

Perhaps because he had done several big things in succession over the past few days...

Stansfield woke up just past 6:00 AM. Not long after, he drove away.

After he left, Hunter waited for another half hour.

Only then did he emerge from his hiding spot and quickly infiltrate Stansfield's property.

As a drug lord, Stansfield was both high-profile and low-key.

He seemed to be unmarried, living alone in this house for long periods.

According to Hunter's investigation, he hired a cleaning company to tidy up his place every Thursday.

Most of the time, Stansfield lived alone in this rather large villa.

Quickly approaching Stansfield's villa, Hunter examined it patiently.

He found that aside from surveillance cameras at the main entrance and the garage...

Stansfield's villa was "very clean."

Avoiding the cameras, Hunter circled the villa closely to inspect it.

He soon determined that unless he forcibly broke the glass of several doors or windows, it would be difficult to enter.

So, he walked to a side wall.

There, a window on the second floor wasn't closed tightly.

Hunter estimated the height to be about five meters.

Because there were some protrusions on the exterior wall, climbing up wasn't difficult given his current climbing skills.

He took out some magnesium powder for rock climbing from his Personal Inventory and applied it to his hands.

Then, Hunter stepped back a few paces, accelerated, and jumped.

Using both hands and feet, grabbing onto the protrusions on the wall, he quickly climbed up.

Stansfield's villa was an old-style house built during the Cold War, about forty or fifty years old.

It was located in an ordinary residential area in the old district of Los Angeles!

It looked unremarkable, except for being slightly larger than the surrounding villas.

Including the garden, it covered an area of nearly 500 square meters.

And unlike the wooden structures common in LA, this was a rare brick and concrete structure.

From the outside, you couldn't tell there was anything special about this villa.

Hunter had scouted the area several times beforehand.

He had also tracked Stansfield and investigated him for over a week.

Hunter didn't know if Stansfield owned other properties.

But currently, this villa was the most suspicious.

So, Hunter prepared to probe the reality while Stansfield was away.

Stansfield had been a corrupt cop for so many years; the black money he earned from ripping off other criminals and drug trafficking must be substantial.

Black money couldn't see the light of day.

There was a high probability it was either stored in banks like those in Swiss with client confidentiality measures...

Or, it was hidden right under Stansfield's nose.

Hunter suspected that this villa likely hid the black money Stansfield had earned in the past.

Although he couldn't be sure how much... even if it was only a few tens of millions, or even just a few million dollars...

To Hunter, it was all extra income.

It was black money earned by Stansfield anyway; Hunter would take it with a clear conscience.
