Chapter 278 -  Off to the Police Station

The other officer had originally intended to question Silver Wolf, but the moment he heard his partner shout, his expression changed.

Restricted weapons.

That was serious.

"Keep an eye on her."

After instructing the auxiliary officer beside him, he and the rest of the team rushed past Silver Wolf and onto the rooftop.

"It's real. Put your weapons down!"

He barked sharply, his hand moving to his waist.

As a local patrol officer, he wasn't carrying a firearm, but for nighttime rounds he did have a rubber baton.

At the same time, curiosity bubbled in his mind.

These two women were both stunningly beautiful, but they were fighting with restricted weapons as if they were trying to kill each other.

And those weapons were incredibly ornate.

Where had they gotten them?

Could they be involved with some criminal organization?

"Uh… what do we do now?"

Raiden Ei looked somewhat lost.

She remembered that Valerius had explicitly said the Holy Grail War had to remain secret.

Now that the police were involved, things had become complicated.

She couldn't exactly cut them down, could she?

That would create an even bigger incident.

Kafka was equally troubled.

But asking her to put down her weapon was absolutely impossible.

Who knew if the moment she lowered her spear, Ei would slash her in two?

"I'll say it again. Put your weapons down."

In the livestream chat:

Kujou Sara: "...…"

Jing Yuan: "Looks like they're spending the night in jail."

Zhu Yuan: "This is really…"

She was trying hard not to laugh.

What Holy Grail War?

At this rate, they were all getting hauled off to the station.

As a police officer herself, Zhu Yuan was certain these two were finished.

This was armed assault.

Even if they were eventually released, the seven-day Holy Grail War might be over by then.

Sparkle: "Fun!"

Yukong: "They're not going to attack the police, are they?"

She was genuinely worried.

Neither Ei nor Kafka seemed like the sort to care much about ordinary people getting caught in the crossfire.

Especially Kafka.

Firefly: "This is bad. Kafka's going to get arrested."

Firefly was deeply concerned.

No matter what happened—whether they stayed or ran—Kafka was likely ending up on a wanted list.

If Kafka still had access to Spirit Whisper, she could simply manipulate the officers.

Unfortunately, as a Heroic Spirit, that ability was sealed.

Valerius: "I only played games for a little while. How did things turn into this?"

Bronya: "What… exactly happened?"

Seele: "Armed fighting. Noise complaint. Police got called."

Bronya: "...…"

This was absurdly careless.

She was already regretting letting Silver Wolf and Kafka participate.

It was only the first day, and they were already nearly being arrested.

At this rate, what kind of disaster would they create next?

On the rooftop, the officers saw that neither woman intended to surrender.

They hesitated.

All they had were rubber batons.

Charging two armed combatants head-on was asking to get hurt.

With no better option, they called for backup.

For now, they only needed to stall.

Once reinforcements arrived, tasers would solve everything.

"We can't wait any longer."

After thinking it over, Raiden Ei made a decision.

She had no intention of being arrested.

Without hesitation, she dashed to the edge of the rooftop and leapt off.

"What the hell?!"

"Don't do anything rash!"

The police were horrified.

Jumping off a building?!

Seeing Kafka prepare to follow, one officer quickly tried to persuade her.

"Don't be impulsive! This is just a one-on-one armed fight. At most, five days' detention and a 500 yuan fine—"

He froze.

Kafka had already jumped.

"My god…"

The officer rushed to the ledge and looked down.

Nothing.

No bodies.

No movement.

No trace at all.

"Where did they go?"

They had jumped from this height and simply vanished.

Had they run away?

What were they, superhumans?

"Get downstairs!"

Without hesitation, the officers sprinted back down.

And before leaving, they slapped handcuffs onto Silver Wolf.

They were not letting her jump too.

Three deaths in one patrol would be a career-ending nightmare.

"Hey! This has nothing to do with me!"

Silver Wolf protested furiously.

"I was just watching!"

"They're the ones who were fighting!"

Valerius: "The cops are still the strongest force around."

Jaina Doe: "What Raiden Shogun? In front of the police, all she could do was run."

Feixiao: "Silver Wolf doesn't have protection now. Couldn't someone kill her?"

Herta: "Don't forget Heroic Spirits can become spiritual forms. Kafka is definitely still following her."

Feixiao: "True."

An hour later, inside the police station.

An older officer and a young policewoman sat across from Silver Wolf.

"Name."

"Uh… Silver Wolf."

The policewoman looked up, her expression odd.

What kind of name was that?

"Do you know the two women?"

"Nope. I was just there to watch."

Silver Wolf shook her head immediately.

No matter what happened, she was not admitting she knew them.

"Don't know them?"

The old officer stared at her for a long moment.

"Then what were you doing there in the middle of the night?"

"Watching… the excitement."

"What excitement? Tell the truth."

"Really. I finished gaming at the internet café and was heading back to my dorm. I heard noises from the rooftop and got curious."

During the ride to the station, Silver Wolf had carefully prepared her story.

She was just a bystander.

Nothing more.

The explanation was plausible.

The officers had already checked her identity.

She was indeed a student, and records from the internet café confirmed she had been there until late at night.

"Then what exactly did you see?"

"I saw two female bandits fighting. It was all bang bang clang clang—ow! Hiss!"

She abruptly stopped.

Her head had been smacked.

No need to guess who.

Kafka.

"Female bandits?"

The officer studied her again and saw no obvious signs of lying.

"When you arrived, was that thing on the ground already there?"

That was what truly concerned them.

The rooftop still contained the summoning circle drawn in duck blood.

It looked highly suspicious.

Possibly cult-related.

Damn it.

Silver Wolf's heart skipped a beat.

She had drawn that circle herself.

And if the police investigated further, they would discover she had purchased duck blood earlier that night.

"I was focused on the fight. I didn't really look at the ground."

"I see."

The officer nodded.

That made sense.

Most civilians would naturally focus on the people fighting rather than what was under their feet.

He slid the statement toward her.

"Sign here."

"And keep your phone on twenty-four hours a day."

"Do not leave the city. Understood?"

"Understood."

"Good. You may go."

"If you remember anything else, contact me."

"Of course."

At last, she had gotten through the interrogation.

Silver Wolf quietly exhaled in relief.

But her mind was already racing.

She needed to find the duck blood vendor before the police did.

Otherwise, she might be dragged back to the station.

And once she found him?

Simple.

A little magic to blur his memory would solve the problem nicely.
