Thessian looked genuinely puzzled by the question. "Because she'll need them."
Marcus blinked. "All of them?"
"Perhaps."
The Beta stared at him for several long moments before trying another approach. "Alpha," he said, lowering his voice as though attempting to reason with someone particularly stubborn, "Her Majesty will recover."
"I certainly hope so."
"Which means these bandages won't last forever."
"They won't."
Marcus nodded eagerly. "So," he said, spreading his hands triumphantly, "she doesn't require twenty ceremonial gowns."
Thessian regarded him thoughtfully. "What if she dislikes nineteen of them?"
