When Aiden Flint left Sootopolis City, a call from J forced him to change his route.
Originally, his next destination was meant to be his final Gym—Sootopolis Gym itself—but this new information was far more tempting.
"Boss," J reported, "Tabitha and I have finished transferring all of Team Aqua's assets. We've also begun absorbing the remnants of Team Magma. From their top-secret files, we obtained information about a Legendary Pokémon."
"We need you to come to this coordinate personally and deal with Courtney."
Aiden smiled.
J truly lived up to her reputation as a former Hunter leader. With Shelly's inside connections, they had already emptied Team Aqua's vaults and even moved against Team Magma. And on top of that… they had found another Legendary.
Compared to money, technology, or bases, nothing mattered more to Aiden than Legendary Pokémon.
After all, Sky fall existed for one reason—to hunt down every Legendary in the world and bring them under his command.
And now, only one month after founding it, a new target had already appeared.
Without hesitation, Aiden activated Teleport and vanished.
…
J, Shelly, and Sky fall's operatives had already completely surrounded Team Magma's last remaining base.
Thanks to Shelly's insider knowledge, J had systematically seized every Magma hideout, turning them all into Sky fall branches. Only one was left—their core headquarters.
And Courtney was inside.
"Courtney," Shelly called out coldly, "you should surrender. Once our boss arrives, even death might become a luxury."
Courtney's eyes burned with rage.
If it weren't for Shelly betraying them, Sky fall would never have found all their bases so quickly.
"Don't even think about it," Courtney snapped. "I will never surrender!"
Just as she prepared to activate the base's mechanical defenses, space distorted.
Aiden appeared beside J and Shelly.
Both women instantly tensed—but when they saw him, they relaxed.
"Boss."
Shelly glared at him playfully. "You really should announce yourself when you appear like that. I almost attacked you."
Aiden chuckled. "What's the situation?"
J answered seriously. "All of Team Magma's branches have fallen. This is the last one. Courtney is inside, trying to activate the base's defense systems. Once we take this, Sky fall will completely dominate Hoenn's underworld."
Aiden reached for a Poké Ball.
Sometimes, a leader had to show his power.
"Rayquaza, come out."
Green light exploded into the sky.
A colossal dragon emerged, its body stretching across the clouds, divine pressure crushing the battlefield below.
The Sky fall members were stunned.
"So the rumors were true… Boss really has Rayquaza…"
Even among criminals, following a god was something else entirely.
"Rayquaza," Aiden said calmly, "Dragon Breath. Aim at the base."
Before the attack even fired, Team Magma's morale collapsed.
Courtney rushed out with her men.
"Wait! Please hold!"
"There is information about a Legendary Pokémon inside the base! If Rayquaza attacks, everything—including the coordinates—will be destroyed!"
Aiden lifted his hand.
Rayquaza halted.
Then Aiden's eyes glowed violet.
His psychic power pierced Courtney's mind and rewrote her loyalty completely.
Her devotion to Maxie was erased.
She knelt.
"Courtney… greets the boss."
"Good," Aiden said. "From now on, you're Sky fall's second captain. You'll lead your former subordinates just like Shelly. Your mission is to locate Legendary Pokémon."
"Yes, boss."
Inside the base, Aiden personally accessed Magma's core database.
The Legendary was sealed in an ancient ruin.
And it was located within Hoenn.
"Shelly, you're coming with me. J, Courtney, gather everything from Team Magma and wait for my next order."
"Yes, boss!"
Aiden released Pidgeot.
He and Shelly mounted it and flew toward the ruins.
Far away, trouble was already finding Cynthia.
