After her second Pokémon fell, Glacia gritted her teeth and sent Lapras back onto the field.
"Lapras—Perish Song!"
Having fully understood Regirock's overwhelming power, Glacia no longer hesitated. If Lapras could survive three turns without being knocked out, then under the effect of Perish Song, Regirock would lose all its stamina.
In theory, it sounded broken.
But theory and reality were two different things.
Perish Song was commonly seen in competitive battles, yet Legendary Pokémon rarely appeared in ordinary matches. If it truly worked against divine beings, then defeating Arceus would only require enduring three turns after singing a song.
Impossible.
In reality, Legendary Pokémon could shatter Protect with sheer force. No gimmick could casually erase their power.
As Lapras began its haunting melody, Regirock's H-shaped eyes flashed.
"Regirock—Lock-On."
The moment Lock-On activated, Lapras was marked.
Which meant—
Perish Song's hope of stalling had already crumbled.
"Zap Cannon."
Aiden's voice was calm. Cold.
Regirock's body glowed.
A massive sphere of yellow energy erupted forward.
"Regirock!"
Boom!
The explosion tore across the battlefield, the shockwave flipping chunks of the arena into the air. Lapras let out a furious cry as the electric blast swallowed it whole.
When the smoke cleared, Lapras lay in a crater, eyes spiraling.
"Ding! Regirock has defeated Lapras. Gained 6,100 experience points. Level increased. Current level: Lv83!"
Three in a row.
Legendary authority made manifest.
"Lapras is unable to battle! Since Elite Four Glacia has lost three Pokémon, we will now enter intermission!"
The familiar announcement echoed again.
The audience was almost numb by now.
Never before had someone made the Elite Four gauntlet look this easy.
And Aiden was challenging them consecutively—barely two hours had passed, and he had already reached the third Elite Four member, with almost no downtime between matches.
Even former Champion Steven.
Even Wallace.
Neither had advanced so effortlessly in their time.
In the stands, Steven smirked lightly. "He really came prepared this time. What about you? Confident? If you lose too badly, your title as Contest Champion might start to look questionable."
Wallace's expression shifted slightly.
He had always intended for Aiden to succeed him.
But if he were humiliated too easily, the prestige of Contests might forever fall behind standard League battles.
After a moment of silence, Wallace replied quietly, "Then I'll give it everything. As long as he doesn't use Rayquaza… I still have a chance."
Steven only smiled.
What that smile meant—
Would be revealed later.
…
When the second half began, Glacia sent out her fourth Pokémon.
Froslass.
"Ding! Froslass's current attributes are as follows:"
Pokémon: Froslass
Level: 77
Ability: Snow Cloak
Type: Ice / Ghost
Potential: Gold
Bond Evolution: Not unlocked
Mega Evolution: Not unlocked
Moves: Crunch, Ice Fang, Blizzard, Draining Kiss, Snowscape, Aurora Veil, Shadow Ball…
"Froslass, huh…"
Aiden reached for another Poké Ball.
"Claydol. Show yourself."
The next moment—
A colossal figure appeared.
Nearly fifty meters tall.
Taking up half the battlefield.
A gigantic Claydol.
The audience gasped in unison.
Some even instinctively recoiled at the sight of the towering ancient construct.
Even Glacia, Drake, Wallace, and Steven couldn't help but frown.
"How does he keep pulling out more absurd monsters…"
"Froslass—Blizzard!"
The temperature plummeted instantly as a raging snowstorm engulfed the field.
"Claydol—Psychic. Seize Froslass and crush her."
This was Claydol's first battle under Aiden's command.
And Aiden intended for it to make an entrance.
Not all glory belonged to Legendaries.
His other Pokémon deserved their moment.
Psychic surged forth.
Froslass's ghostly mental resistance was formidable—but before a being that had existed for who knew how long, with a body the size of a building—
It was insignificant.
Froslass felt searing needles pierce into her mind.
Her vision blurred.
She staggered, disoriented.
Claydol followed immediately with Extrasensory.
The second wave of psychic power obliterated her remaining stamina.
"Ding! Claydol has defeated Froslass. Gained 6,100 experience points. Level increased. Current level: Lv78!"
Glacia's remaining two Pokémon—Weavile and Piloswine—were no match.
Against Claydol's overwhelming size and crushing psychic pressure, they fell one after another.
"Since Elite Four Glacia has lost all six Pokémon, the winner is—Aiden Flint!"
Three Elite Four members down.
Only one remained.
Drake.
The Dragon master.
And beyond him—
Hoenn's Champion.
