Chapter 255 - Encounter with the Giant Tentacruel!

While traveling toward Ice Island, Aiden had originally hoped to catch a few powerful Water-type Pokémon.

Unfortunately—

He had found absolutely nothing.

After wasting hours fishing and achieving nothing but complete humiliation, he finally gave up.

If fishing wouldn't bring Pokémon to him—

Then he would find them himself.

With that thought, Aiden released his psychic power.

Like an invisible net, his vast mental force spread across the ocean surface and plunged deep beneath the waves.

Instantly—

His eyes lit up.

About thirty meters below Lapras, an enormous blue Pokémon was staring upward.

Its gaze was locked onto Lapras.

Like a predator observing prey.

The moment Aiden saw it, a grin appeared on his face.

What luck.

Just when he had stopped looking.

The massive creature lurking beneath the sea was—

A Tentacruel.

But not an ordinary Tentacruel.

This thing was colossal.

Its main body alone stood nearly fifty meters tall.

And if its countless tentacles were included, its total length stretched several hundred meters.

The Giant Tentacruel!

Aiden immediately recognized it.

Back in the day, Jessie, James, and Meowth had accidentally created an enormous Tentacruel using a strange chemical formula.

The resulting giant had led countless Tentacool in an assault against a coastal city.

There couldn't possibly be two Pokémon like that.

So this was undoubtedly the same Giant Tentacruel Ash had once encountered.

Turning toward Lorelei, Aiden smiled.

"There's something huge beneath us."

"And I think it's targeting Lapras."

Lorelei chuckled.

"Then let's bring it out."

"Lapras, Ice Beam!"

"Lapras!"

A beam of icy blue energy instantly shot into the ocean.

The surrounding waters rapidly froze.

The Giant Tentacruel immediately sensed danger.

Dozens of enormous tentacles erupted from beneath the sea.

Crash!

The ocean exploded upward.

Lorelei's expression immediately changed.

"That's huge!"

Lapras quickly accelerated, trying to avoid the attack.

Unfortunately—

There were simply too many tentacles.

Just as they were about to be surrounded—

Aiden acted.

A Master Ball appeared in his hand.

"Kyogre."

"Your turn."

A flash of red light burst across the ocean.

The next moment—

The Sea God appeared.

"KYOOOOOOOGRE!"

A majestic cry echoed across the sea.

The ocean itself seemed to tremble.

The Giant Tentacruel instantly froze.

Then—

It panicked.

The moment it sensed Kyogre's terrifying divine aura, it immediately withdrew all of its tentacles.

Run!

That was the only thought left in its mind.

Unfortunately—

Aiden had no intention of letting it escape.

"Status."

A translucent panel appeared before him.

Aiden nodded.

Just as expected.

It really was that Giant Tentacruel.

Its favorite thing being a clean ocean was somewhat surprising.

Then again—

Humans were experts at destroying ecosystems.

Sometimes animals cared more about nature than people did.

Aiden pointed toward the fleeing Tentacruel.

"Don't let it get away."

Kyogre lazily glanced at the giant jellyfish.

Then it released a low whale-like cry.

"You chose the wrong prey."

The ocean responded immediately.

Boom!

A gigantic wave surged upward.

The Giant Tentacruel was launched straight into the sky like a cannonball.

Watching this, Aiden suddenly realized something.

Why had he never traveled on Kyogre before?

Kyogre was literally the God of the Sea.

It could grow to enormous size.

It could control ocean currents.

It could keep water away from its own body effortlessly.

Compared to Lapras—

Wasn't Kyogre basically a luxury cruise ship?

He immediately decided that future travels around the Orange Archipelago would be conducted on Kyogre.

Far more comfortable.

With that settled, Aiden finally turned his attention back toward the Giant Tentacruel.

The poor creature now floated helplessly above the ocean.

Unable to run.

Unable to fight.

Unable to hide.

Originally it had only wanted a meal.

Then it had accidentally provoked the God of the Sea.

Its life choices suddenly seemed questionable.

"Tentacruel."

"Let's talk."

The giant jellyfish immediately activated a form of telepathy.

"Big brother."

"Misunderstanding."

"Complete misunderstanding."

"I'll leave right now."

"You let me go, okay?"

Aiden burst out laughing.

"So you've dealt with humans before."

"That makes things easier."

"Unfortunately, you're the one who attacked us first."

"So you're responsible."

Tentacruel immediately wilted.

"That's fair."

Aiden continued:

"Still, I'm not unreasonable."

"If you can defeat those two Pokémon—"

He pointed toward Lapras and Kyogre.

"I'll let you go."

The Giant Tentacruel stared at Kyogre.

Then at Lapras.

Then back at Kyogre.

Then back at Lapras.

Only now did it realize something horrifying.

Lapras wasn't weak either.

The pressure radiating from Lorelei's partner was tremendous.

One Sea God.

One elite Champion-level Pokémon.

And itself.

Level seventy-five or not—

This wasn't a fight.

This was an execution.

The Giant Tentacruel immediately surrendered.

"I can't win."

"I admit defeat."

"Whatever punishment you want."

"I accept."

With that—

The enormous jellyfish simply flopped onto the ocean surface.

Completely giving up.

Aiden and Lorelei couldn't help laughing.

"Relax."

"I don't intend to kill you."

"I want to capture you."

"Become one of my Pokémon."

"How about it?"

The Giant Tentacruel stared at Kyogre.

Then stared at Aiden.

Then stared at Kyogre again.

After several seconds—

It made the only sensible decision.

"Can I even refuse?"

"Excellent."

"Very cooperative."

Aiden pulled out a Heavy Ball.

"Go."

The ball struck the Giant Tentacruel.

A flash of red light erupted.

Its massive body vanished into the Poké Ball.

Click.

No shaking.

No resistance.

No struggle.

A white light immediately flashed.

Capture successful.

Aiden smiled.

Giant Tentacruel—

Captured.
