A terrifying explosion followed.
Countless meteors began raining down, as though Arceus intended to erase the entire Sinnoh region.
Upon receiving the news, Sinnoh's Champion, Elite Four members, and Gym Leaders began gathering once more.
They prepared to stop this war of annihilation.
However, Arceus had appeared far too suddenly.
The Sinnoh League had no time to react.
As enormous meteors descended, Ash, Dawn, Brock, and the others threw out their Poké Balls and ordered their Pokémon to attack.
Unfortunately, their efforts were insignificant against such destruction.
The magnificent temple was completely reduced to ruins beneath Arceus' meteor storm.
Michina Town, once beautiful and filled with the vitality of nature, was devastated.
Cities across Sinnoh were struck by falling meteors.

The number of dead and injured rose rapidly.
Then, another enormous meteor descended directly toward Ash and his companions.
With no way to escape, everyone closed their eyes and waited for death.

Rayquaza lived in the ozone layer and naturally possessed the ability to consume meteors.
Two enormous dragons appeared in the sky.
