Chapter 108: Preparation
Curious asked: "But if it's just ways to empty the energy well and then absorb as fast as possible to expand the well, it truly is very difficult. Not to mention our energy gate is also considered small and still needs to absorb much to make it large. So is there no other way?"
Cunning spoke up: "I also feel it has problems and takes a long time. So in my opinion, finding energy stones would be best."
Grumpy showed an uncomfortable face at Cunning's opinion.
"Are you crazy? Going digging? Where would you find them?"
Cunning smirked and answered:
"That's what I'm saying, sitting for a long time might not absorb energy as much as a normal stone with natural energy."
Humorous with a bored voice:
"Like that, there's a possibility of having to separate from everyone. That's not fun."
Aoto furrowed his brows, thinking:
-"Now how to quickly grow wings? Energy stones? Too hard."
-"Quickly... quickly..."
Then he came up with a crazy idea, his voice hesitating as he spoke:
"I have this way."
The other Aotos were silent and listened to Aoto; they knew this might be an important idea instead of debating.
Aoto: "Did you guys forget? Elves have energy almost similar and weaker than us. But an Elf with a body full of energy might even be more than a medium-grade natural energy stone."
"I am still a young Elemental, if I meet an adult Elf, there will be much more than me for sure; an Elf's whole life, who knows if they use up all their energy?"
Anxious spoke up, as if speaking the thoughts of all:
"But is doing that okay? The relationship between the two races is currently equal, only outsiders consider it not so."
Determined slammed the table and stood up, pointing at all the Aotos.
"You guys only thought superficially and then worried? Did you forget we can work and earn money to buy slaves? We will ask them to help and we will set them free. Choose it for me."
Most of the Aotos slammed the table and stood up, as if they had unified their opinions; the ear-splitting noise rang out again, but the common point was:
"That works, choose it..."
A few Aotos like Cunning and Silent sat still but also nodded in agreement.
Aoto seeing everyone respond also stood up and nodded.
"Okay."
So Aoto decided to go work at a large warehouse and he would carry items during transport.
…
Shifting to the training of Kazuka and Elyssia…
Kazuka swung out a horizontal energy slash with an extremely large range that rushed straight toward Elyssia.
Elyssia arched her back backward and avoided that energy slash. The slash just rushed on, cutting the rock behind in half and continuing into the forest, cutting several weak trees then vanishing.
Kazuka immediately closed in on Elyssia and swung a spinning kick, but Elyssia quickly backed away and dodged it.
Kazuka did not stop attacking; he bounced powerfully forward and jumped up, both hands gripping the sword tight and swinging from above down.
Elyssia with quick reflexes and speed, immediately released a horizontal slash toward Kazuka's stomach.
She worriedly thought to herself: "Can he block it?"
But, while Kazuka was swinging his sword, he hadn't focused energy downward yet, proving he had planned ahead for defense. In front of his stomach, a very large and dense source of energy was pushed forward.
Elyssia's white energy slash immediately collided with Kazuka's thick energy layer. Kazuka had planned ahead and left a little energy behind his back and puffed out energy to push his body forward, preventing him from being knocked back while in the air.
But Elyssia's slash was quite strong; Kazuka had gathered a lot of energy in the front and the back was very weak. He was knocked far away.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Elyssia bounced into the air and kicked Kazuka, but Kazuka still reacted in time to save himself a bit; he crossed his arms and blocked Elyssia's extremely powerful stomp. Kazuka flew far into the forest.
Lin flew in the distance observing; the little girl was very surprised that Elyssia was so strong, although she had seen sparring in Velmoura castle before.
Kazuka rushed out from the forest, wanting to fight more, but Lin had flown over and blocked Kazuka.
"Alright, no need to fight anymore. If we fight to decide victory or defeat now, how long will it take?"
Elyssia stepped forward and smiled.
"You fought very well like that, Kazuka."
Kazuka sighed, not because of tiredness but still quite disappointed in himself.
"What part was good?"
Elyssia: "It's fine like that, don't be hasty."
Lin nodded.
"That's right."
"Now you must know how to set more traps during combat. Although you are consciously aware that you need to fight solidly because the opponent is also being solid. But you are still too simple."
Kazuka nodded, suddenly in his head he remembered the time he trapped Kiryuu.
"Oh oh, then I will remember."
Lin: "Now let's try fighting at high intensity, shall we?"
Kazuka nodded.
"Yeah."
Lin flew around Kazuka.
"Reminder to remember is you always need to go first and always have to trap the opponent even if it fails, then do it again. Fighting is very persistent, unless there is a power gap."
Kazuka nodded.
"Okay."
Kazuka and Elyssia stood at a far distance from each other. Both were surrounded by a large source of energy and were ready in combat stances.
Lin with a sweet, very cute voice shouted loudly:
"Start!"
Just as Lin finished her sentence, Elyssia stepped down hard; she bounced off at very high speed, making the ground beneath her feet crack greatly. Kazuka opened his eyes wide in surprise.
-"So fast."
A powerful overhead slash was released. Kazuka reacted in time and brought his sword forward, successfully blocking it. But the difference in energy made the energy surrounding Elyssia's sword penetrate through the energy surrounding Kazuka's sword.
Kazuka knew it wasn't good; he raised his right leg and flipped backward, his toe aiming straight at Elyssia's chin.
But Elyssia had backed away; she released a kick straight into Kazuka's stomach when he had only flipped halfway. Kazuka flew far and braked with his feet, his eyes with absolute focus for the battle opened wide again in surprise.
Elyssia closed in; she flew in the air and spun her body, swinging a kick in an arc toward Kazuka's neck.
Kazuka brought his hand up to his neck and blocked the blow; the great force from the kick made Kazuka grit his teeth and fly spinning away. During this, he threw his sword toward Elyssia, connected by a small energy string.
Elyssia leaned to dodge. Kazuka controlled the sword when it reached level with Elyssia, immediately shooting out three energy spears at close range.
Elyssia put her hand out and created a dense energy layer wanting to block.
Boom!!!
The three energy spears exploded, smoke flying thickly.
Kazuka pulled the sword back toward himself and pinned it to the ground beneath his feet; both hands summoned two spears, his eyes glued to the smoke:
-"Now rushing in is very dangerous."
He threw the spear in his hand toward the direction where he sensed Elyssia's presence. The two spears flew off and tore through the smoke.
Both hands summoned two more energy spears again wanting to throw more.
Suddenly, Kazuka as if froze; Elyssia's larger energy source erupted, making Kazuka sense it clearly.
Whoosh!!?
Tearing through the layer of black smoke and closing in on Kazuka extremely fast, making Kazuka unable to react in time. Elyssia swung a punch straight into Kazuka's stomach. Kazuka by reflex wanted to put his hand out, but it was too late.
Thud!!
Kazuka hunched over following the force of the punch, both eyes wide in bewilderment, not yet realizing. He flew away and rolled on the ground several times to the edge of this small clearing.
Kazuka sat up and clutched his stomach, coughing "khu khu", trying to stand up quickly.
Elyssia at a distance released an energy thrust that rushed forward like an arrow overflowing with energy.
Kazuka leaned aside to dodge; he swung three consecutive energy slashes vertically with equal distances that rushed forward, carving large grooves into the ground. Right after that, he gathered strength and released a stronger horizontal energy slash that chased after the last slash.
Elyssia also realized. She didn't dodge but jumped into the air.
When Kazuka's large horizontal slash caught up with the slash running last, it immediately exploded loudly.
Boom!!!!
He stepped hard on the ground, making the ground crack, and jumped up, rushing toward Elyssia who was floating in the air and gradually falling; his left hand summoned an energy spear as a precaution.
Kazuka pointed his sword tip forward in a direct thrust.
Elyssia opened her palm wide and pointed downward while falling. She pushed a large amount of energy outward; the great propulsion force made her body fly backward upward.
Kazuka who was rushing in stared blankly, tilting his head up to follow. He spun his body in the air and threw/pushed the spear upward.
Elyssia swung a large energy slash straight downward to confront the energy spear Kazuka threw.
Boom!!!
Kazuka had known that his spear couldn't block that slash. He had used interference energy as a precaution.
Kazuka fell; he concentrated energy down to his feet wanting to land safely. But Elyssia swung another energy slash that rushed toward him when Kazuka had nearly fallen to the ground. Then she swung a stronger blow that rushed off and caught up with the previous slash.
Kazuka opened his eyes wide upon realizing.
-"The second blow has interference energy."
Boom!!!
Kazuka flew out of the smoke with tattered clothes, his body full of open wounds after the explosion and trying to recover. His face seemingly didn't care and was observing to see where Elyssia's position was. It seemed he had been injured too much and was gradually getting used to the pain created by these battles.
Elyssia at this time in the distance launched two of her energy spears. Kazuka jumped up and his hand created an energy sphere that dropped onto the two spears.
Boom!!!
Kazuka landed behind the smoke, his eyes alertly looking toward the smoke because he had sensed Elyssia rushing over at very high speed.
-"So fast."
Kazuka gripped the sword hilt with both hands; he swung from top down awaiting Elyssia's arrival. Elyssia rushed in with a horizontal slash, immediately colliding with Kazuka's top-down slash; the two energy sources continuously neutralized each other.
Kazuka opened his mouth wide; inside his mouth, he created an energy sphere and shot it toward Elyssia's face. But Elyssia tilted her head and dodged.
During that, behind her back, an arm made of energy was created and manifested an energy spear.
Kazuka opened his eyes wide in surprise and associated it with Aoto.
-"Similar to Aoto's?"
That arm thrust the spear toward Kazuka. Kazuka tilted his head and dodged; Elyssia tripped Kazuka, making him fall backward.
But not yet finished, as he fell, Kazuka braced both hands on the ground and swung a kick straight from below up.
Elyssia backed away and opened her shoulders preparing to release the next blow. Kazuka rolled several times backward and kept his distance.
But at this time Lin flew over and cut the battle short, Lin shouted:
"Alright, fight just that much. Like that we have grasped Kazuka's situation."
Kazuka withdrew his combat stance and scratched his head, laughing.
"I couldn't counterattack at all, it seems it's not good."
Elyssia stepped forward, the sword in her hand disappeared, leaving a few tiny white specks of light then also disappeared.
"Don't worry, you fought well like that. Trapping the opponent in difficult situations in such a fast-paced battle is good."
Kazuka threw his sword toward the tree stump where his scabbard was standing. He smiled forcedly as if still not satisfied:
"What? I didn't see you being in difficulty?"
Elyssia smiled.
"This was just training so we fought a bit, can't say anything yet. If it were a real fight, the end of the battle would be intense."
Lin nodded and flew around, while flying she said with a confident voice:
"That's right... that's right. Therefore you must have a steel spirit. But don't worry about that, Lin will support you."
Kazuka nodded, his eyes looking at his hands.
"Okay."
-"The end of the battle will be very intense, I need to do better."
Elyssia braced her hands on both hips.
"Anyway, combat only has a few simple quick traps. But most are unequal battles, therefore one must trap continuously in the most sophisticated way."
Kazuka nodded, absorbing the knowledge.
"Okay, I understand."
Kazuka: "Then you rest, Elyssia..."
Elyssia nodded.
"Yeah."
…
Shifting to Ayaka…
She was standing on a tree that was quite high and had died dry. The bow she was drawing was being covered by a blue energy source. A large energy arrow was held by her.
Closing one eye and aiming her gaze toward the distance, there was a rabbit jumping and observing everywhere as if looking for food.
Releasing her hand from the energy arrow…
Whoosh!!!!
The blue energy arrow tore through the wind and rushed off with very high speed; the wind shrieked continuously.
The jumping rabbit was immediately reached by the arrow which crushed it; blood and flesh fragments scattered everywhere. The arrow just kept going, slamming into a tree with an extremely large trunk and making the tree fall over.
Ayaka with a joyful expression clearly shown.
"Great, a hit."
She drew her bow; an energy arrow was created in the meantime, shooting toward a tree. She continuously shot and created energy arrows with very high speed like a rain of arrows. Trees that were somewhat large were pierced with a hole, smaller trees immediately fell over.
…
At this time, on Mythyr's side. She was bracing her sword against the ground; she was in anger, her face grumpy and she shouted loudly:
"Fighting like that is too weak, continue for me."
Wafta hastily waved his hands; he was kneeling on one knee on the ground and panting, sweat flowing all over his body, his face clearly showing exhaustion.
"It's not possible, I can't go on. Rest a bit, Lady Mythyr."
Mythyr with an uncomfortable and full-of-contempt face.
From behind, a deep voice rang out making Mythyr have to turn back:
"So you are fixed on fighting a boy? Lady Mythyr?"
That was Cavensyl Ravencourt, 45 years old. The head of the Ravencourt family and the master of this city of Tharros.
He had blue hair, a face not too old, but rather looking quite young compared to his age. Wearing a black outfit that was somewhat simple, but all were very expensive and handcrafted by the most skilled tailors. A tall stature, his face exuding the aura of a Viscount. Walking behind him was a butler in a butler's black suit.
Wafta stood up and bowed:
"Greetings, Viscount."
Mythyr smirked.
"Are you pitying that boy's fate?"
Cavensyl burst out laughing:
"Hahaha, is there any lack of strong children? You should also be careful."
Mythyr nodded perfunctorily.
"That boy, when radiating energy, also seemed strong; I am waiting to crush him."
Cavensyl stroked his chin with interest.
"Is that so? I am also looking forward to it very much."
"So have you prepared anything for the battle?"
Mythyr shrugged and laughed.
"Of course I have, I am not so foolish as to look down on anyone."
Cavensyl again laughed out loud:
"Hahaha. Good, on that day I will come to see your battle."
Having said that, he and the servant turned away. Mythyr did not bow, but expressed through her voice:
"Then I will be very honored to have you come watch."
Selena walked toward them from the opposite direction of her father. She stopped and bowed:
"Good afternoon, Father."
Cavensyl laughed and patted Selena's shoulder lightly.
"Good, good afternoon to you."
After Cavensyl finished speaking, he passed Selena.
Today Selena wore an outfit with white and black pants quite neat; it seemed she wore it like that to fight.
Mythyr seeing Selena coming, she smiled happily.
"Waiting forever for you to come, you two come at the same time and fight me."
Selena pointed at Mythyr with curiosity.
"I heard this morning you went to buy some items? To prepare for the match?"
Mythyr nodded.
"Yeah, I went to buy and repair some items."
"By the way, did you tell the arena master about that day?"
Selena nodded.
"Yes, I told him. That guy said he would make that day packed with people."
Mythyr shrugged.
"Let those guys make money, I only need to crush that boy."
"I told my father to just buy that arena but he wouldn't; letting me up there would earn a fortune."
Selena shook her head slightly.
"Asked already, but they won't sell. I heard that arena was built by their family."
Mythyr had a disgusted expression with an uncomfortable voice:
"Those guys, whenever I meet them outside, I must deal with them all."
Selena with a curious voice: "So what did you buy? Let me see too?"
Mythyr raised her hand and shook her index finger.
"No, when the time comes you will see and know. It's also nothing much."
Selena pouted sulkily.
"Saying that makes me even more curious."
Wafta, silent until now, also spoke up:
"I find the boy I brought back is not normal at all, the feeling is very strange."
Selena nodded; she remembered the time she met Kazuka's group of five.
"They seem strong; a group of six and there is even an Elf going together. A strange point is I saw three girls with energy that seemed identical, too strange."
Mythyr also nodded in agreement and was recollecting in her head.
"I also found it quite strange, and only the archery girl uses energy, while the other two do not."
Selena nodded.
"Maybe something is hiding those two's energy."
Mythyr shook her head.
"Don't know."
Wafta with a cautious voice.
"Therefore you must be careful when fighting."
Mythyr crossed her arms over her chest.
"I know, so I have also prepared. Now just waiting and imagining the scene of me killing that boy."
Selena sighed in thought.
"So the fight still must happen? Hope that guy is also strong. No! Hope this match will be a draw and there will be no casualties."
-"With the current time, there are many problems already. If Mythyr loses it will be very dangerous, and if that guy loses, death is certain. Not to mention fearing the other side."
Wafta suddenly spoke as if cutting through Selena's train of thought:
"Now I and Lady Selena will attack from two sides, forcing you to react quickly to defend and counterattack, what do you think?"
Mythyr picked up her sword with the black blade, her face extremely excited as she broke into a wide grin.
"Good, that's more like it."
Selena nodded.
"This way is also very good; that way Lady Mythyr will practice reflexes and grasping opportunities better."
Then she lowered her voice warily:
"Now only worry that the other guy has also prepared good items to fight Mythyr."
Wafta nodded.
"Yes, there is also the possibility of having powerful and capable items."
Mythyr smirked triumphantly, bracing both hands on her hips, face tilted toward the sky, her voice full of contempt:
"What to worry? I am not afraid of those things."
Mythyr clapped her hands to get both their attention, her voice serious:
"Alright, no need to discuss further, just worry about this side first. Now train for me."
Wafta nodded, his voice as if not daring to refuse:
"Then what about tomorrow, Lady Mythyr?"
Mythyr smirked.
"Of course training with me, you don't have any work anyway. I looked into it, you have no work, don't you try to hide."
Wafta smiled forcedly with an unwilling look, but he had no other way.
"Hear... like this I will surely die."
Mythyr shook her head and laughed like a monster.
"Don't worry, you can't die."
Wafta curiously turned to Selena.
"Where is your sword, Milady?"
Selena as if remembering could only laugh it off.
"Haha, it seems I forgot it."
Mythyr remained calm.
"Go get it, anyway let this boy rest a bit more."
Wafta could only smile forcedly. Knowing that even if it was sparring with Mythyr, it was no different from a life-and-death struggle; she always released dangerous blows that could take someone's life even during practice. He could only pray hoping he would be fine.
Selena turned and ran away; she looked back and laughed shyly.
"Wait for me a moment."
