Chapter 137: Fighting the Dragon III
As the two attacks draw near, Elyssia's sword approaches its mouth; it simply snaps its jaws hard and uses its teeth to lock Elyssia's sword tight; the sword still stabs deep inside but great friction forces it to stop. The dragon just like that swings a leg, knocking Elyssia down into the forest to her surprise.
The whole group standing below immediately changes complexion, clearly showing worry. They quickly run and head toward the position where Elyssia was just struck.
The dragon immediately dives downward; it senses four energy directions rushing in, but it does not care as it truly wants to destroy Elyssia first.
Whoosh!!!
Ayaka's arrow is fired, wind howling and roaring. The dragon still maintains a certain focus, turns its head, and launches a fireball from its mouth; it had calculated just enough by feel. The fireball thus confronts Ayaka's arrow. This arrow she fired did not have interference energy; partly she wanted to test if her attack was effective, partly she also thought Elyssia was still fine, not too worrisome.
The armor on Elyssia's person is smashed to bits, but it is recovering again. She stands clutching her right waist, a feeling of pain reaching the bone; although she can recover, the pain is still very unpleasant. Two pairs of wings have retracted into one flexibly.
On her hand, the sword is no longer there; that sword was pulled away by the dragon. But she is the master of the sword, so she is not at all afraid of it being lost. The sword currently on a distant treetop immediately dissolves into white energy particles then disappears. Right after that, the sword appears in her right hand.
The dragon dives down; it opens its mouth as red-hot fire that had been accumulated for a long time glows brilliantly red-hot; looking from the outside, its neck can be seen clearly showing a red color. Immediately it spits a large fire toward Elyssia; this fire has a range that can wipe out an entire village with just one blow, leaving only fire and empty ground.
But even if the fire power is great, Elyssia is an Angel; she is inherently stronger than this dragon cub for certain; even against several mature dragons, though she might not win, she has more than enough strength to escape and preserve her life.
Twitching her lips into a smile, eyes like milk marbles narrowing, she braces herself. Actually, even if injured, moving is still possible, but she is not afraid and also wants the dragon to approach closer head-on, to let the dragon think it has the advantage to find an opening, while actually this fire is still quite slow and can be evaded.
Widening her right shoulder, her right hand swings the sword. A large-range energy slash is launched.
The dragon is terrified; it did not expect this slash to have such pressure, nor expect that she did not want to fight with all her strength. Immediately Elyssia's large-range slash flies over and blows away the fire, then just like that strikes the dragon making it roar once, mouth opening wide in pain. Such a wide-range slash makes its person injured across a large area. The slash presses tight against the body making the skin—thicker than iron—also crack in many places. The dragon thus loses balance, instinctively flaps wings chaotically, and falls to the ground.
The dragon collapses onto its back legs, front legs trying not to fall; the slash strike had great power as its meat was as if crushed. Its mouth has a lot of blood, same on the ground, seemingly just spat out; one of its teeth was also unfortunately broken.
But Elyssia's energy is not yet purification energy; it is simply very pure. It also does not have too great destructive power when attacking, only slightly stronger than all other creatures. If she ascended to six wings, she would have the capability to purify souls or certain curses, as well as most especially, her energy would be pure and raw like energy just absorbed and not yet transformed to become her own.
The dragon narrows its eyes; because they are two different races, pushing out energy will be a bit harder, but with good skill, it is also simple.
Elyssia quickly darts away; with her capability, recovering is too simple for these minor bone-crushing injuries; only if internal organs were injured would it be harder. But who that fights doesn't cover their internal organs to protect them; not to mention her energy is strong, so protecting the internal organs is good and she suffers no shock.
The dragon sees Elyssia rushing in with astonishing speed, rocks and dirt kicked to the rear. The dragon stands up; although still injured, moving is possible. It stomps a massive, bumpy dragon-scaled leg down; the leg larger than a tree trunk makes the ground crack open running vertically toward the front of Elyssia.
But Elyssia does not need to avoid; she just like that jumps up to approach this large dragon. Its red-hot eyes are also not too afraid; it opens its mouth wide biting in, simultaneously the mouth is also reinforced with energy and is glowing red because fire wants to spit out.
Elyssia is still not afraid, left hand gripping the sword tight, the slender but firm arm like a block of muscle crossing over from the front to the right to take momentum. Just like that she sweeps the sword across; though her eyes do not clearly show much expression, they show she is like iron and stone, not afraid at all, also partly knowing she will not lose.
Sweeping the sword across, the fire in the dragon's mouth is extinguished. Power great as if tearing the air, just like that the sword cuts through two membrane layers at the dragon's mouth edge; inside the throat is also shocked by the great power.
The dragon cries out, reeling back as Elyssia's power is disparate compared to it; two sides of the mouth are sliced wide, but quickly stopped the bleeding, it's just that the meat is still exposed outside.
Elyssia does not stop attacking; she swings the sword covered in her white energy strongly from top to bottom, the slash strikes straight into the upper chest part of the dragon and creates a large deep wound. That massive body is heavily shocked and falls toward the rear; two wings—instinctively closing due to losing balance—then spread out trying to want to flap.
Immediately in her hand is created a quite large white energy sphere. She throws it straight toward the dragon's chest she just slashed. But the dragon has quickly flapped wings and darted up into the sky, despite the wounds still remaining.
Elyssia lowers her feet to the ground then the left hand holding the sword passes it to the right hand. She is ambidextrous so she is very flexible, even ambipedal. Platinum hair is tossed by the strong wind; she knits her platinum eyebrows tight, knowing that fighting in the air is not something she likes much.
Suddenly she senses everyone's energy and walks over.
Elyssia transforms back to normal, the eye on the back of the neck closes, the one-color white eye switches back to her ice-colored eye. Back at Velmoura Castle she also told everyone that if she transformed it would be quite weird, but everyone encouraged her. But now she is still quite worried and afraid seeing everyone's reaction.
Airi runs over; as for her, she isn't surprised. Though in the clan she hadn't seen an angel before—she is a vampire princess who rarely got outside—but every book mentions them and has drawings, as well as having seen many weird things so she isn't very surprised.
"Are you okay?"
Elyssia nods, a bit worried in her heart, but outside still acting normal.
"Um... okay."
Right after that Kazuka, Takeshi, and Aoto run over.
Aoto is not surprised; he also knew like Airi. Takeshi is also very surprised but truly he doesn't know how to react, only knows to praise:
"You are strong."
Kazuka's eyes clearly show curiosity as he approaches.
"Didn't expect you to be that strong, tell me some secret."
Takeshi although not knowing how to react, is also very interested and instinctively steps closer.
"I'm curious too."
Elyssia smiles shyly, the feeling in her heart lightening a few parts when no one disparages her form.
"Um, I don't know."
Aoto turns over, crossing his arms.
"She is an Angel so she is definitely stronger."
Kazuka nods in understanding, but still asks:
"So that's it, so that is the form of an Angel."
Elyssia suddenly feels tickled in her heart; she also doesn't want to be reminded, not because of hating anyone but because of fear everyone will feel it looks like a monster.
Kazuka puts two hands behind and wiggles them, like a pair of tiny wings.
"I also want to be an Angel like her, crazy strong."
Elyssia as if remembering Ayaka looks around. Not sensing Ayaka's energy, she knows Ayaka is far away but still asks:
"But where is Ayaka?"
Airi shakes her head, pointing toward the low mountain.
"Probably she is sitting in a corner somewhere, don't worry."
Takeshi uses his power; he flips his hand up, a block of earth protrudes with a smooth surface. Immediately he jumps up to sit on it, crossing his arms.
"A pity, we are still too weak. To have Elyssia—who just came along—have to fight like that is truly not good."
Elyssia is startled, thinking everyone wouldn't mention it, didn't expect this to be a compliment; her face suddenly blushes redder as Kazuka also nods saying:
"That's right, standing and watching like that we are not worthy to be friends."
Aoto shakes his head, sighing in rebuttal.
"It's not that much, Kazuka; we can't be compared after all."
Kazuka bursts out laughing, trying to correct because he saw Aoto misunderstood the meaning. Actually, he used words a bit wrong so it was misunderstood like that, also because he only knows letters, mostly talks to the brothers so he doesn't use difficult or different words carrying high profound meaning.
"Hahaha, my meaning is that we should support better than her fighting alone."
Airi sees Elyssia blushing in embarrassment from being praised; she turns over and pinches Elyssia's cheek once and smiles with narrowed eyes.
"So cute, oh my god."
