The final ten victors were quickly confirmed.

"Bolan, Qianshui, Luo Feng, Jiang Mo, Wuka, Aichen, Long Yun, Opalatra, Rong Jun, Bai Yue. Congratulations to the ten of you."

Venerable Nine Swords stood calmly in midair, his gaze sweeping across the arena. "Next, five will be selected from among you. From those five, first and second place will be determined."

A brief pause followed before he continued, his tone unhurried yet carrying unmistakable weight.

"As for the matchups—according to the rules prearranged by the Virtual Universe System, the grouping will be based on the time taken to win your previous battles. The fastest will face the slowest, the second-fastest will face the second-slowest, and so on."

The words had barely fallen when a wave of shock spread across the entire venue.

The 1,008 Undying overseeing the event reacted almost simultaneously, many of them narrowing their eyes. Among the 990 geniuses watching from below, gasps rippled through the crowd. Even the ten finalists themselves stiffened.

Because this arrangement meant only one thing.

Bai Yue would face Bolan.

The "Heavenly Emperor" versus the "Death God."

And this was the arena stage—no resurrection, no retries. One would fall here.

Originally, everyone had tacitly assumed that the two slots in the Primitive Mystical Region would belong to these very two individuals. No one had said it openly, but it was an unspoken consensus. Now, with this single announcement, everything changed.

Luo Feng and Yi Feng both reacted almost instantly. Their gazes turned toward Bai Yue, realization flashing through their eyes.

So that's it.

Seeing Luo Feng look over, Bai Yue gave a slight nod.

Yes—he had done it deliberately.

In order to face Bolan, he had intentionally delayed his previous arena battle until the very end, ensuring his victory time aligned perfectly with this outcome.

In Bai Yue's view, Bolan's talent was unquestionable—perhaps the greatest of their generation. In the original path of fate, however, Bolan had chosen the wrong direction early on, slowing his ascent. Even though he corrected it later, the gap between him and Luo Feng had already become insurmountable.

Bai Yue had no intention of letting that repeat.

If Bolan needed to recognize reality earlier—then so be it.

From that perspective, Bai Yue almost felt he was doing Bolan a favor.

Whether Bolan would understand… that was another matter.

After a brief rest period, the decisive battles began.

Top Ten Matchups

Five exquisite arenas rose from the plaza, replacing the earlier platforms. Translucent light shields enveloped each one, refracting brilliant seven-colored light under the luminous spheres above. The scene was magnificent—worthy of the climax of the Genius Battle.

On their arena, Bolan stared at Bai Yue, his expression cold.

"You did this on purpose," he said. "Why?"

"Yes," Bai Yue replied plainly. "No particular reason. I thought of it, so I did it. Maybe standing too high too early isn't a good thing."

Bolan's eyes darkened. "What gives you the right to decide that for me?"

Bai Yue answered calmly, his voice steady and unhurried.

"Probably because I'm stronger than you."

The words struck like a hammer.

Bolan froze for a fraction of a second—then fell silent. No more questions. Only battle remained.

Heavenly Emperor vs Death God

There was no prolonged exchange.

Bai Yue moved first.

The moment he unleashed his power, the surrounding Space seemed to solidify. The dark golden long staff in his grasp extended visually, its far end resembling a pillar capable of propping up the heavens themselves.

With a single, unadorned swing—

Boom.

The arena shook.

The battle that everyone expected to be a brutal, evenly matched confrontation ended in an instant.

When the dust settled, Bolan lay defeated.

Silence engulfed the plaza.

Awe filled every gaze directed at Bai Yue. This wasn't just victory—it was absolute suppression. If even Bolan fell so cleanly, then what did that say about the rest of them?

From another arena, Luo Feng—who had just been worn down and eliminated by Long Yun—let out a breath. His initial frustration faded the moment he saw Bai Yue's result.

"Lao Bai… that was brutal," Luo Feng muttered. Somehow, his own loss felt a little easier to accept now.

Top Five Confirmed

The final five were quickly determined:

Bai Yue, Qianshui, Aichen, Rong Jun, Long Yun.

Three men. Two women.

"An excellent showing," Venerable Nine Swords said, smiling faintly. "Next comes the round-robin. Each of you will fight the other four once. One point per victory. Final rankings will be decided by total points."

The remaining battles passed swiftly.

Bai Yue won all four matches without exception, securing first place beyond any doubt.

Long Yun claimed second.

Rong Jun, whose saber technique still lacked the final refinement to breach Long Yun's defense, placed third.

There was some murmuring about Long Yun's entry into the Primitive Mystical Region, but it was inevitable. Whoever replaced Bolan would have drawn similar skepticism. In the end, luck itself was a form of strength.

Aftermath

Next came registration and reward allocation. The Virtual Universe Corporation finalized prize distributions and prepared F-grade Universe spacecraft to retrieve each genius and transport them to headquarters.

They would cultivate in Primordial Chaos City for 30 years—nearly a century in the Primordial Universe.

This waiting period became the last stretch of time most of them would spend with their families.

Fortunately, the Virtual Universe ensured that separation was never absolute.

Bai Yue, having no immediate family, returned to Earth alongside Luo Feng to settle matters and reunite with friends.

Earth — West Lake Manor

On the lawn beside West Lake Manor, a lively gathering was underway. Former Falcon Squad members and their families sat together, laughter mixing with the aroma of expertly prepared dishes. Bai Yue had spared no expense, inviting master chefs for the occasion.

"Dad, I want that one!" a chubby-cheeked little girl pleaded, pointing eagerly at a lobster.

"Alright, alright," Lieutenant General Zhang laughed, fully the doting father now. He carefully prepared the dish for his daughter, ignoring everything else.

Bai Yue approached, holding two glasses of wine. Seeing Zhang's hands occupied, he set one down and smiled.

"Mengmeng started school yet?"

"She has," Zhang replied proudly. "Senior class this year. Primary school next."

After clinking glasses, Zhang's smile softened. "You'll be gone a long time this time, won't you?"

"Yeah," Bai Yue answered honestly. "Over a hundred years."

For a moment, the atmosphere quieted.

Then Li Xiao and the others joined them.

"Don't worry," Li Xiao said with a grin. "We'll protect Earth while you're away. And with the Virtual Universe, we can meet anytime."

Captain Cold Army raised his glass. "Stay safe out there. We'll be waiting for the day you come back—and we'll drink then."

Bai Yue raised his glass in return.

Time really did fly.

From a newcomer once seen as a burden… to the guardian standing behind Earth itself.
