Chapter 76 - Chapter 76 -- Wanbao Secret Realm

After fully understanding the composition and combat style of Black Yuan's team, Bai Yue made his decision without hesitation.

He would join them.

The army had its rules.

Anyone who stepped onto the Outside Territory Battlefield carried mandatory military merit requirements, and Bai Yue was no exception. Before accumulating enough merit to act freely, he had to be registered under an organization and follow military orders.

Since that was unavoidable, joining an elite World Lord team was the most rational choice.

Moreover, with his current strength, this arrangement was merely transitional. Bai Yue was confident that he would soon accumulate sufficient military merit to leave the team and operate independently. Before that, staying with an experienced squad would allow him to quickly familiarize himself with the Ninth Battlefield, gather intelligence, and—most importantly—continue investigating clues related to the Sky Horn Ant.

"Welcome to the team, Walker," Captain Black Yuan said with a satisfied smile after Bai Yue accepted.

Through divine power transmission, Black Yuan summoned the rest of the team members who were gathered in a corner of the hall.

Soon, seven figures approached.

Their appearances varied greatly—some towering and imposing, some elegant and alluring, others cold and sharp with killing intent, and a few wearing faint, inscrutable smiles.

Among them was a Nine Sha Tribe warrior over six meters tall, his body resembling reddish-black stone, a curved horn jutting from his forehead, eyes brimming with battlefield ferocity. There was also a Fox Race woman, her figure wrapped in faint mist, charm radiating from every movement.

They pulled up chairs and sat around the table.

Captain Black Yuan began the introductions.

"This is our new member, Walker," he announced. "He has just arrived and was evaluated by the Virtual Universe System as a Sector Lord War General. From today onward, he'll be fighting alongside us."

Bai Yue smiled lightly and nodded in greeting.

Black Yuan continued.

"This is Captain Lan Lin, the second Immortal God in our team."

Lan Lin was a Feathered Human woman, her bearing calm yet resolute, faint wings of light folding behind her back.

"Yao Lin, Illusionist," Black Yuan gestured toward the Fox Race woman. "You all know Fox Race charm techniques—most World Lords don't last long against her."

Bai Yue glanced over. Yao Lin was indeed breathtakingly beautiful, her curves accentuated by her battle attire. Even with his mental fortitude, Bai Yue unconsciously lingered for half a second longer than necessary.

"Tie Zhu, warrior of the Nine Sha Tribe."

The massive horned warrior grinned honestly and nodded.

"Lei Siren, warrior of the Lightning Flash Tribe."

"Yu Xuan, Mental Master."

Yu Xuan's physique was close to that of an Earthling, except that pale blue scales covered her body from the neck downward. She gave Bai Yue a polite nod.

"Fengliu Fei, Mental Master."

A noblewoman with long blue hair smiled faintly. When Bai Yue's gaze passed her, she deliberately shot him a teasing look.

"Ao Tun, Illusionist."

An elderly man with a kindly appearance, but sharp, calculating eyes.

Black Yuan, Lan Lin, Yao Lin, Tie Zhu, Lei Siren, Yu Xuan, Fengliu Fei, and Ao Tun—this was the full roster.

Every single one possessed combat power at or above Sector Lord War General level, and each had survived countless life-and-death battles on the battlefield.

After listening, Bai Yue introduced himself briefly.

"I mainly cultivate as a Martial Artist, with some training in Mental Master techniques."

That was enough.

No one asked further questions. On the battlefield, strength spoke louder than background.

After completing the formal application, Bai Yue officially became a member of the elite squad.

For the next ten-plus days, the team remained stationed within the barracks. Bai Yue used this time to absorb battlefield experience from the veterans—deployment patterns, ambush warnings, alien race habits, and countless lessons paid for with blood.

Even he did not take this lightly.

Fearlessness was not recklessness. There was no reason to die needlessly.

Finally, after more than ten days of preparation and adjustment, the team received deployment orders.

At the assembly point, a disc-shaped universe spaceship rested silently in the open area. Its pitch-black hull radiated a cold, oppressive presence.

An E9-class warship.

Bai Yue entered through the open hatch. Everyone except him and Fengliu Fei had already arrived in the control room.

Not long after, Fengliu Fei entered as well.

At this moment, all members were fully equipped. Once they left the barracks, combat could erupt at any time. Some alien race assassins deliberately lurked near military bases, targeting squads that were insufficiently alert.

"Attention," Captain Black Yuan said solemnly. "We're about to depart. Once we enter the battlefield, no matter what you're doing, maintain at least three layers of situational awareness. Unless absolutely necessary, remain inside your protection cabins."

Around the control room were several compact cabins—each a personal protection chamber forged from F9-grade metal, capable of withstanding terrifying levels of attack.

Through the external projection, Bai Yue watched as the spaceship slowly departed the interior of the military base, passing through a heavily guarded transit corridor.

Thousands of ships were coming and going.

The entire base buzzed with activity.

Only around a hundred passages were open at any given time. During a full-scale war, all channels would be activated—but that would signify a decisive battle.

Once outside the base, the ship's defensive systems fully activated.

Bai Yue glanced back.

The massive war fortress was now fully visible.

From the outside, it was wrapped in a dazzling multicolored energy barrier, layered with solidified law patterns. Mechanical cannons hundreds of kilometers wide lay dormant along its surface, countless energy nodes flickering faintly.

A man-made weapon of war elevated to the level of art.

Soon, the spaceship accelerated to sub-light speed, leaving the base behind. After entering a cleared region of space, it surged forward and slipped into the Dark Universe.

Inside the ship, the onboard intelligence projected a rough star map.

Ninth Battlefield: Wanbao Secret Realm.

Originally, this place had been the territory of the Lian Xing Clan, a race renowned for treasure refinement. At their peak, they could even craft high-grade treasures, coveted by powerhouses across the universe.

But prosperity never lasted forever.

When rumors spread that the Lian Xing Clan was secretly forging a top-tier treasure, the entire race vanished overnight.

In the aftermath, the four great racial alliances clashed endlessly over the remnants and inheritances left behind. The conflict escalated until it grew uncontrollable.

Eventually, the region was designated a race battlefield.

Thus, the Wanbao Secret Realm became the Ninth Outside Territory Battlefield.

Even today, treasures still surfaced from time to time. In the past ten thousand epochs alone, two confirmed high-grade treasures had been unearthed.

Where treasures gathered, blood followed.

As a result, the Wanbao Secret Realm had one of the highest mortality rates among all Outside Territory Battlefields.

Bai Yue's eyes narrowed slightly as he studied the projection.

This battlefield…

was going to be interesting.
