"Heh… an Undying body?"
Bai Yue sneered as he watched the Lightning Eel Undying reassemble itself in the distance. "Let's see how many times you can put yourself back together."
The Lightning Eel had no intention of answering.
The instant its divine body stabilized, lightning-law god power surged violently, arcs of blue electricity crackling across its scales as it turned and fled without the slightest hesitation.
For an Undying, survival came first.
Unfortunately for it, Bai Yue had no intention of letting military merit run away.
A vast Domain spread outward.
Earth-yellow brilliance intertwined with sharp golden light, forming an oppressive force that slammed down upon the Lightning Eel. Its body jerked violently as if an invisible mountain had been dropped onto its back. Space ahead of it stiffened, folding layer by layer, each step suddenly costing immense effort.
Its speed plummeted.
Before it could even react, a destructive force descended.
The gray Hun Yuan Staff tore through space and smashed into its divine body once more. The Lightning Eel exploded into scattered divine power, then forcibly reassembled not far away.
Two consecutive blows.
Nearly twenty percent of its divine power vanished.
There was no pause.
Bai Yue's staff descended again and again, each strike precise and ruthless, hammering the Undying body apart repeatedly. Undying divine power was continuously consumed, shaved away in visible chunks.
At last, the Lightning Eel dispersed once more.
This time, reconstruction was painfully slow.
Its divine power reserves were nearly exhausted. One more solid blow—and its consciousness would collapse into eternal slumber, never to awaken again.
Despair flooded its eyes.
It had only just stepped into the Marquis rank, had not yet even earned a title or displayed its might before the race. To die here—at the hands of a Human World Lord—was unbearable.
But if it was going to die—
Then it would drag its enemy down with it.
Madness flashed through its pupils.
The Lightning Eel surged forward, closing the distance with reckless abandon, then ignited every remaining fragment of its divine power.
BOOM—!
The self-destruction shook the void.
When the violent shockwave faded, Bai Yue stood calmly in the center, entirely unharmed. The high-grade treasure armor absorbed the residual force effortlessly.
He waved his hand and calmly collected the remaining spoils.
His gaze swept across the battlefield.
The situation was stable. His teammates were gradually gaining the upper hand. There was no immediate danger.
Then—
A sharp warning rang out from the high-level detector he carried.
Bai Yue's expression changed.
Within a radius of two hundred million kilometers, numerous foreign-race squads were suddenly appearing—rapidly converging on their location.
Understanding dawned instantly.
A trap.
No wonder the enemy had not retreated earlier. They had deliberately stalled, transmitting their coordinates and calling in reinforcements to complete an encirclement.
Without hesitation, Bai Yue acted.
Invisible soul attacks descended like silent guillotines.
The five Monster Race World Lords collapsed simultaneously, their life cores extinguished in an instant.
"Something's wrong—end it now!" Bai Yue transmitted urgently.
The Undying being besieged by Black Yuan and Lan Lin was already on the brink of collapse. At Bai Yue's warning, the two no longer conserved divine power. Their attacks surged explosively.
Moments later, the Monster Race Undying fell.
Black Yuan and Lan Lin regrouped beside Bai Yue at once.
"What happened?" Black Yuan asked grimly. He had never seen Bai Yue look this tense.
"We're surrounded," Bai Yue said calmly, sharing the detector data. "This was bait. And judging by the scale… it's aimed at me."
Ao Tun still wore his gentle smile. "Looks like we'll be fighting to the death."
"Walker," Fengliu Fei said softly, eyes serious for once. "If you can escape later, don't worry about us."
Bai Yue chuckled. "They're here for me. Do you really think they'd let me go?"
Then his gaze sharpened. "Relax. No one here will die. It'll be them."
The foreign-race forces arrived swiftly.
At a distance of one million kilometers, countless figures disembarked from their spacecraft and advanced in formation.
Hundreds of Undying Spiritual Gods.
Killing intent filled the void like a storm.
The members of the Black Yuan Team felt their hearts sink. Against such numbers, survival seemed impossible.
They did not truly believe Bai Yue's reassurance—only taking it as comfort.
"You all enter my world ring," Bai Yue said firmly. "You won't be able to participate in what comes next."
Black Yuan shook his head. "Lan Lin and I will stay. We can still help. The rest—obey orders."
Lan Lin nodded.
Bai Yue did not refuse. With Undyings present, even if things turned dire, he could retrieve them at any time.
Ao Tun and the other World Lords, however, could not remain outside. If even one enemy specialized in soul attacks struck, they would die instantly.
With a thought, Bai Yue stored the remaining World Lords in his world ring.
At that moment, the foreign-race leaders arrived.
At their head was Marquis Fankong Astar.
His gaze swept over the three humans before locking onto Bai Yue.
"So you are the Human World Lord they speak of?" Astar's voice dripped with contempt. "Such a weak body. You should feel honored—to die by my hand, and to witness my true form."
His humanoid figure vanished.
In its place appeared a colossal silver-white serpent, nearly one thousand kilometers long, wings like blades spread from its back. Its golden pupils glowed with malice, and its gaping maw twisted space itself, as though ready to devour the void.
The surrounding space distorted violently.
"This… it's over," Black Yuan whispered, despair flooding his eyes.
Astar's aura alone was terrifying.
"Move," Astar commanded coldly. "I'll handle the human World Lord. Kill the other two Undyings."
The battlefield erupted.
Then—
An incomparably terrifying aura burst forth from the human side.
Black Yuan and Lan Lin froze.
Astar and the approaching Undyings stiffened simultaneously.
All eyes turned.
Floating before Bai Yue was a golden plant, resembling aquatic grass—lush, radiant, and alive. One hundred vine-like stalks swayed gently.
"Bloom," Bai Yue said softly.
The golden Undying Star-Eating Grass erupted.
Like grass surging into a forest, its vines expanded at insane speed. Each stalk thickened and lengthened, saw-toothed leaves unfolding endlessly.
In an instant—
Each main vine stretched tens of thousands of kilometers.
One hundred such vines spread across the void, forming a colossal existence whose volume rivaled a sun.
The battlefield vanished beneath golden foliage.
The foreign-race army—still advancing—was swallowed whole.
Like small fish trapped in endless aquatic grass, struggling was meaningless.
This—
Was true despair.
