Namek.
After Nappa was revived, he missed Piccolo's ship.
Everyone else forgot about him too—so he ended up stranded on Namek alone.
Namekians only drank water. They didn't stock food.
And Nappa couldn't beat Nail, so he didn't dare cause trouble on this planet.
On top of that, because Vegeta had slaughtered a Namekian village, the villagers' attitude toward Nappa was terrible. They didn't welcome him at all.
So he could only swallow his pride and live out in the wilderness—hunting game for meat to barely keep himself alive.
A few days later, while hunting, Nappa suddenly found the Ginyu Force's ship.
In that instant, it felt like his life had light again.
He rushed into one of the ships, thrilled.
"Huh… destination: Planet Yardrat?"
His rough finger slid rapidly over the control panel as he pulled up the travel logs.
"Yardrat? Wait…"
He narrowed his eyes and opened the most recent communications records.
The moment he tapped one, cold recordings from King Cold began playing through the ship's speaker.
Most were messages asking the Ginyu Force about the situation on Namek—none had been answered.
Then Nappa heard an important one.
Soldier: "Report to King Cold—Frieza's death, and the Ginyu Force's deaths, are basically confirmed.
A Super Saiyan likely appeared. They went to Earth."
King Cold: "Go to Namek first.
If Dragon Balls truly exist, I'll use them to obtain eternal life—then I'll go to Earth and deal with the Saiyans. That way, nothing can go wrong.
If those Namekian insects dare resist… let them vanish along with the planet."
Soldier: "My lord, if we mobilize for Namek, I'll arrange the fleet immediately.
At our speed, it will take only three months to reach Namek!"
King Cold: "Do it. The Frieza Force's authority cannot be questioned.
Any voice of rebellion must be erased—Even if a Super Saiyan exists."
"Yes, my lord…"
After that message, there were no more.
Hearing the recording, Nappa's pupils shrank. Cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
"King Cold… I almost forgot about that old bastard…"
He sprang up so hard his head smacked the ceiling—but he didn't even feel it.
"If he comes… this planet is finished!"
Nappa sucked in a breath, teeth clenched.
"Vegeta ditched me, the Namekians look down on me—damn it…"
His fist tightened until his knuckles cracked.
Nappa still had some strength. Most planets couldn't stand up to him.
He'd thought about taking a ship and leaving, living freely on his own.
But with Frieza gone, the Frieza Force still controlled most of the universe.
If he took one of their ships, King Cold would eventually catch him.
And as long as King Cold lived, it wouldn't be just Namek that would be destroyed.
The only real solution was letting Kakarot kill King Cold—clean and permanent.
Nappa hesitated… then his eyes lit up with an idea.
"Wait…!
Kakarot became a Super Saiyan—he's the strongest in the universe.
If he can kill Frieza, he can kill King Cold too.
If I tell Kakarot, Namek can be saved.
And Kakarot isn't Vegeta.
If I bring them this warning, it's basically me saving Namek—
he probably won't kill me… and I can finally live with some dignity."
Nappa took a deep breath.
"I'm sick of being a stray dog.
I should've died to Frieza long ago anyway—if I die now, I don't lose anything!"
That night, Nappa barged into Grand Elder Moori's village.
Nail stood in his path.
"Saiyan. Why are you here?
We didn't kill you because Namekians are kind by nature—
but that doesn't mean we won't kill you."
Nappa spoke harshly, not backing down.
"Listen!
Frieza's father, King Cold, has already set out for this planet. They'll reach Namek in about three months.
Don't even think about running. The Frieza Force's tracking is terrifying—they'll find you quickly.
If you don't want to die, contact Super Saiyan Kakarot and have him come kill King Cold before it's too late!"
Nail stared at him, shocked.
"We treated you that way… why are you telling us this?"
Nappa snorted.
"Cut the crap. I'm just sick of living like a stray.
Once King Cold is beaten, I'm leaving this bird-shit planet."
With that, Nappa left the village and went back to the ship.
At least it was more comfortable than the wilderness—no bugs biting him all night.
Nail delivered the news to the new Grand Elder, Moori.
And through the Namekian antenna link, Moori contacted Piccolo.
…
A few days later, on Goku's island.
Gohan, Bra, and Meiqi had settled into a rhythm—training, studying, resting every day…
Their Saiyan bodies were special. Kindergarten couldn't wear them out, but Turtle School training was actually fun.
The three little ones loved it, never getting tired of it.
Goku didn't need to run every drill with them anymore.
He couldn't let his own training fall behind.
So he watched them while sitting in meditation, training his Spirit Control.
Once he began, Goku immediately understood something—
why "Goku" in the past trained for a year and only learned Instant Transmission,
but later Vegeta went once and, in a few months, learned Instant Transmission and Forced Spirit Fission—while refining ki control and making huge gains.
Spirit Control's precision training favored people with sharper, more meticulous minds.
This kind of technique…
smart Earthlings might learn it faster.
But Earthlings had a lower ceiling on raw ki, so their amplification was limited—Spirit Control would be more about flexible combat for them.
Just as Goku finally made some progress—
Piccolo arrived on the island.
Goku looked up, surprised. "Huh? Piccolo, why are you here?"
Piccolo spoke bluntly. "Son Goku. Elder Moori contacted me.
He said Nappa warned them… that in a little over two months, King Cold will reach Namek.
He wants me to ask you to go to Namek…"
Goku froze. "Two months… until he reaches Namek?"
Piccolo nodded, looking slightly uncomfortable. "Just… consider it a favor I owe you—"
Before he could finish, Goku waved a hand.
"No need to owe me anything.
Dealing with King Cold is already on my list.
But if we fight away from Earth, I'll be gone for at least half a month.
That means the kids' training will fall behind.
So… how about you watch them for me for half a month?"
Piccolo blinked. "What? You want me to watch them train?"
Goku nodded like it was obvious.
"Yeah.
And if you think my training is too 'kid-level,' you can add your own drills—whatever you think suits them.
I know you can handle it.
Not right now—after I leave.
It only takes seven days to reach Namek by ship.
So leaving two months from now is fine.
When the time comes, you take over for me."
Piccolo's fist clenched, his face turning half-green, half-red.
After a long moment, he finally nodded.
"Fine. Two months from now… I'll take over."
