Chapter 195 -  Videl’s First Stirring of Love

Videl lightly leapt onto the stage, her tied ponytail swaying in the wind as she stared firmly at Spopovich across from her.

The muscular man wore a strange smile, and the "M" mark on his forehead looked especially glaring beneath the sunlight.

Spopovich grinned, his voice hoarse and low.

"Hmph. A little girl dares to challenge me? Interesting."

Videl took her fighting stance without fear.

"Don't underestimate me. I've been training seriously…"

The referee gave the signal.

"Begin!"

Videl attacked first.

Her movements were swift as the wind, and she launched a flying kick straight toward Spopovich's face.

Spopovich was sent flying back.

However, he was still far from being knocked out of the ring.

He wiped his face, stood up, and charged fiercely toward Videl.

Although Videl was smaller, her strength and speed were not inferior to Spopovich's larger frame at all.

Her training over the years had not been for nothing. On top of that, she had occasionally received guidance from Goku, so her foundation was quite solid.

The longer Videl fought, the stronger her momentum became.

Her movements flowed smoothly, and every strike landed precisely on Spopovich's body.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A storm of rapid punches hammered into Spopovich's chest, forcing him to retreat step by step.

The audience erupted in shock, followed by heated cheers.

"Whoa! That girl is amazing!"

"She's actually suppressing that big guy!"

"So cool! Videl! Go!"

Spopovich was forced to the edge of the arena, disbelief flashing across his face.

He had originally thought Videl was just an ordinary human girl.

He never expected her to be this strong.

"Damn it!"

Spopovich roared and threw a heavy punch.

Videl nimbly dodged to the side, grabbed his wrist, used his own force against him, and slammed him into the floor with a shoulder throw.

Boom!

The stage shook.

Spopovich lay sprawled on the ground in a miserable state, unable to immediately get back up.

The audience completely exploded.

"She's too strong!"

"I thought she'd lose quickly, but this is the complete opposite! She's crushing that big guy!"

"Right? I heard her father is Mr. Krillin's assistant…"

"Mr. Krillin's assistant?"

"No wonder! Ordinary girls aren't that strong. And her moves kind of look like Mr. Krillin's…"

"That explains why she's so powerful!"

"Go, Videl!"

However—

Just as everyone thought Videl had victory firmly in her grasp, Spopovich's fingers suddenly twitched slightly.

The corners of his mouth slowly curled into a strange smile.

"Interesting…"

"Very interesting…"

His body began to emit an ominous aura, and the "M" mark on his forehead flickered faintly.

Videl keenly noticed something was wrong.

But she did not retreat.

Instead, she took a defensive stance and said coldly—

"Surrender. You're no match for me."

Spopovich slowly stood up.

His eyes became cold and crazed.

"Surrender?"

"Hehehe…"

"This is only the beginning…"

Before he finished speaking—

His figure suddenly vanished.

"What?"

Videl's pupils shrank.

Before she could react, Spopovich had already appeared behind her and smashed an elbow strike heavily into her back.

Bang!

Videl let out a muffled groan and staggered several steps forward, nearly falling.

The audience instantly went silent.

Everyone's eyes widened.

"What happened? Did his speed suddenly increase?"

Piccolo's gaze turned serious.

"Something's wrong. That guy suddenly became stronger. There's definitely a problem!"

Videl gritted her teeth and steadied herself before turning toward Spopovich.

Only then did she realize his muscles seemed to have swollen, veins bulging across his body as he radiated a deeply unsettling aura.

Spopovich grinned savagely.

"What's wrong? Where did all that confidence from earlier go?"

Videl took a deep breath and charged again.

But this time—

All of her attacks were easily blocked by Spopovich.

He even countered with a punch that knocked her back several meters.

"What?"

Videl's pupils shrank in shock.

Just moments ago, she had been suppressing him.

But now, he had suddenly become stronger.

Even her full-power strike was ineffective.

She could not understand it at all.

Spopovich laughed cruelly and suddenly grabbed her ankle before violently throwing her away.

Videl adjusted her posture in midair and barely landed.

But before she could stand firm, Spopovich had already rushed over like a wild beast and punched toward her abdomen.

Bang!

Videl groaned as the punch forced her back several steps, blood leaking from the corner of her mouth.

"What happened to Spopovich? His strength seems to be increasing!"

On the stage, Videl clenched her teeth and endured.

She rushed forward again and landed several fast punches on Spopovich.

But he seemed to feel no pain at all.

Instead, the more he fought, the more ferocious he became.

"Hahaha! It's useless!"

Spopovich laughed wildly and suddenly smashed a fist into Videl's face.

Pfft—!

Videl spat out a mouthful of blood and was sent flying before crashing heavily onto the ground.

"Videl!"

Goku glanced at Gohan nearby.

Videl had already been beaten like this, so why wasn't that foolish boy showing any concern?

Did he really have to teach his own son how to get close to girls?

At that moment—

Spopovich approached step by step.

Videl struggled to stand, but her injuries were too heavy. Her arms trembled, barely able to support her body.

Goku shouted coldly—

"Enough!"

The next second—

His figure appeared on the stage, blocking Spopovich from Videl.

"She surrenders. You win."

Spopovich looked toward the referee.

Goku quickly turned around and crouched down, gently helping Videl up.

"Don't force yourself. Admit defeat."

Videl's eyes reddened, but she stubbornly shook her head.

"No. I've trained under you for so many years. I absolutely can't disappoint you…"

Goku helped her up and said—

"You performed very well. You've already surpassed most ordinary people."

"But this guy isn't normal."

"There's no meaning in forcing yourself like this."

"Your life is more important than winning or losing."

"It's fine if you lose. Worst case, you can try again next time."

Videl stared blankly at Goku.

Seeing him nod and smile gently, she finally lowered her head and said softly—

"Alright. I'll listen to you."

"I surrender."

Only after hearing Videl personally admit defeat did the referee immediately announce—

"Contestant Videl has surrendered!"

"Contestant Spopovich wins!"

The audience burst into commotion.

Some shouted in dissatisfaction.

"What the hell? She just surrendered like that?"

"Exactly! It was just getting exciting! Why stop now?"

But Goku ignored them completely.

He lifted Videl in a princess carry and brought her down from the stage.

Because he had known what would happen today, he had already prepared in advance.

He directly took a Senzu Bean from his pocket and handed it to her.

"Eat this. Your injuries will recover immediately."

Videl took the Senzu Bean, placed it in her mouth, chewed twice, and swallowed.

In an instant—

Her injuries healed completely.

Even the pain vanished without a trace.

"This… is incredible!"

She looked up in shock, her eyes filled with gratitude and admiration as she gazed at Goku.

Goku gently rubbed Videl's head, the same way he treated Bra and his daughters, and comforted her.

"Alright, Videl."

"Now that you're fine, go find a seat in the audience and watch the match."

"Don't take that loss too seriously."

Videl's body trembled slightly.

Aside from her father, Mr. Satan, it seemed no one had ever cared for her like this.

And even her father's care had mostly been limited to when she was younger.

Now that she had grown up and her father had money, he had become obsessed with nightlife and luxury, leaving her mostly to herself.

Feeling Goku's concern, Videl nodded firmly.

But a strange emotion rose in her heart.

Her cheeks flushed slightly, and her heartbeat inexplicably quickened.

She lowered her head and whispered—

"Mm… I understand…"

"Go on."

Goku waved her off.

Videl turned to leave, but still secretly glanced at Goku's profile.

Unconsciously, her heartbeat became even faster.

She and Gohan were classmates and often trained together.

In truth, ever since school had started a few days ago, she had been at the age where feelings first began to stir.

She had a decent impression of Gohan.

But during the past month or so, her interactions with Gohan had left her somewhat hurt.

Girls were sensitive when it came to emotions.

Through their conversations, she had deeply realized that boy did not like her at all.

Or rather—

He did not understand romantic feelings in the slightest.

A few days ago, she had specially dressed herself up beautifully before coming to train.

But not only had Gohan shown no sign of being moved, he had not even praised her for looking pretty.

He had even complained that her hair was too long and unsuitable for battle, telling her to cut it short.

Fortunately, Goku had spoken up for her at the time and said her long hair was beautiful.

That was how she had managed to keep her long hair.

She still remembered what Mr. Goku had said back then—

"Long hair or short hair doesn't matter. Real masters don't fight by grabbing each other's hair like kids in a street brawl."

From that moment on, she felt that Mr. Goku was a little different.

Although he was already the father of one of her classmates, his appearance was no different from a young man's.

More importantly, his mindset did not feel old at all.

He was even more interesting than many of her classmates.

Videl realized she was thinking too much.

She quickly shook her head, trying to throw away that thought.

But her cheeks only became redder.

"If only Gohan knew how to care about people like him…"

At that moment—

Bulma immediately opened up a seat for Videl.

"Videl, are you alright? Hurry and sit down to rest for a while."

Videl looked up and saw Bulma's bright smile.

Beside her, Violet, Snow, and the others were also watching her.

She quickly replied—

"Ah, no… I'm fine…"

"Thank you, Auntie…"

Violet's expression immediately darkened.

"What Auntie?"

"Just call us sisters."

Videl's mouth twitched.

"Uh…"

Bulma laughed.

"Sit, sit. Violet's just joking with you."

Videl awkwardly sat down.

However, seeing Goku's wives up close made her feel a faint sense of inferiority.

Each of them was beautiful, with excellent figures and graceful temperaments.

Meanwhile, she was dressed in a loose martial arts uniform, her youthful immaturity making her feel completely unable to compare with them.

If Gohan were like his father…

Who knew how many girls would like him?
