[3rd POV]
While she was making sure the food was all right and ready, Haley was staring at her phone, waiting for her family to text her that they were coming up, so she could greet them. Thankfully, it had not taken much longer before they had sent her said text, and before she was at the front door, waiting for them to knock.
She had only stood there for around a minute, before she heard the door get knocked on, and she opened it. On the other side was her entire family, Santa hats on, smiles on their faces (except Jay who looked like he'd prefer to be asleep), with even Alex looking excited.
Probably because she really liked Christmas, and because she thought their apartment was awesome.
"Merry Christmas!" Haley cheered with a bright smile on her face. She had not yelled it out too loud, as there was still neighbors and such. Even if the neighbors weren't really that close since the apartment took up so much space.
""Merry Christmas!"" They all responded with their own excited voices, with only Jay not being as excited he had still said it, but not nearly as upbeat as they had.
"Come on in. You can put the gifts over under the tree with the rest of them" Haley said, as she stepped into the apartment as the family began to follow after her. They instantly noticed the Christmas ornaments and other beautiful decorations around the place.
That and they noticed the smell. The smell caught their attention more than anything, as it was incredible.
"Whoa, what are you making in their Billie? It smells amazing!" Claire asked, as she looked over to the kitchen where Billie was humming.
"Breakfast. I've got sausage, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, beans, toast, and some other stuff. I've also got everything needed for coffee and hot cocoa" Billie responded to the woman as she flipped the bacon, seeing that they were about to be finished.
"And you're making this all by yourself?" Claire asked, wide eyed as she noticed all of the food that was currently in the process of being cooked. It had to be over a dozen different dishes cooking at the same time. And it was only possible for her to do this thanks to the kitchen being big, and having several ovens inside of it.
"Mmhmm. Most of it is just simmering and cooking low and slow. It's not too much of a problem. That and I'm keeping to my grandmama's strict recipes, so I can't make any mistakes with them" Billie replied, as she took the bacon out and onto a plate.
"Do you need any help, honey? This seems like far too much for you to do alone" Gloria asked with slightly concerned eyes.
"Oh I'm fine Gloria. Once the breakfast is done the rest will be easy. Speaking of, what does everyone want?" Billie asked, looking at the family as they each gave their answers, and she made their plates.
At the same time Phil and Jay were putting away the gifts underneath the tree, and had noticed the large gifts already put away. One of them had a rather...interesting shape, that made Jay narrow his eyes.
After all of it was put away, Billie had finished with the breakfast, and coffee and hot cocoa had been handed out to those that wanted it.
And now, finally, Billie was sat on the couch next to Haley, eating as they all began to decide who would open the first gift.
"I say we let Billie do it first, since she is the one that is being kind enough to host Christmas this year" Cam suggested, with Claire nodded in agreement.
"Just let Lily start, she looks like she's going to rip your hair out if you don't let her" Billie said, noticing the look on the little girls face. She hadn't really spoken much to the little girl, but she hoped to. She was adorable.
Cam looked at his daughter and noticed the expression on her face.
"...Alright, is that okay with everyone else?" Cam asked, as Mitchell bit into the piece of sausage and let out a pleased sigh, as it was delicious.
He was letting Cam deal with this one.
Seeing no denials, Cam gave Lily the go ahead to open her first gift.
Said gift was from Billie, and the little girl had let out a low squeal when she had ripped it open. It was a rather large, beautiful doll set with all sorts of toys and items that went with it. It was a high end doll at that, so it was well made, and had more than a dozen costumes to go with it.
Lily was rearing to rip the box open to grab her new doll, but Cam stopped her and whispered in her ear.
Moments later Lily got up and ran over to Billie, making her blink in surprise "Thank you Aunt Billie!" Lily said with a bright smile on her face, as Billie looked down at her. A warm smile soon forming on her face.
"You're welcome hon" Billie replied, as the little girl ran back to play with her doll, while the others smiled at the interaction.
Humming, Billie noticed the look on Jay's face, and grinned. She decided it was time to give her gift to him, and not wait, as he looked really interest, especially since he could see that it was for him.
"Hey Jay, why don't you go next?" Billie suggested, as the man blinked.
"Start with the big one at the front, the one you've been glancing at this entire time" Billie added, as the man was about to deny her offer, but upon seeing no complaints, he grumbled and got to his feet.
Walking up to the box, he slowly ripped open the wrapping paper, only for a genuine gasp to leave him. He looked at the item in front of him, his jaw dropping slightly for a few moments, as he had never expected to get something like this from Billie.
Hell, he hadn't even known it existed in the first place.
"Jay? What is it? What did she get you?" Gloria asked, as the man stepped out of the way, and her face fell instantly. While Jay had a wide grin on his face.
"She got Barkley a girlfriend! Rebarka!" Jay said, before turning to Billie.
"I knew I liked you for a good reason kid!" Jay added, as Billie snorted while Gloria was giving her a death glare that she chose to masterfully ignore. She was thankful that it was Christmas, so Gloria couldn't kill her.
At least not until tomorrow.
"...Do I even want to know how you got that, or why you got that?" Claire asked.
"Nope" Billie replied, as soon it was Luke's turn.
For Luke, she ended up getting him the newest console, as well as over a dozen games for said console, and some other stuff. Which had gotten her another hug.
For Alex, she had let out the loudest squeal she had ever heard from her, as she had gotten her a signed book from one of her favorite scientists, as well as some other rare books that were hard to get.
For Gloria, she had gotten her several new luxury makeup's, some new clothes, and signed posters of her favorite actors. It was rather hard to buy for her.
But, Gloria fussed over her gifts and gave Billie another bone breaking hug, it was time for Claire.
Watching as Claire moved forward to open her gift, Billie smiled, inwardly she had only one thought on her mind.
'I really hope she likes this'
