~LENORA'S POV
The letter had been bait, and I had walked straight into the cage Silas built for me.
Suddenly, I caught a scent which made my body relax before my mind did.
I tilted my head, and his glowing eyes found mine as they stared down at me.
His hand eased away from my mouth, settling on my waist before pulling me closer.
"Dove,"
"Lucian," I breathed without panic.
The corridor remained dim, torchlight flickering against the stones, but his blue eyes continued to glow softly in the dark.
Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around him, and pressed my face against his chest, breathing in the scent I had missed more than I realized.
"I thought something had happened," I whispered. "After the fire incident—
"Nothing happened, we are all fine," he interrupted gently.
My fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt. "I miss you," I admitted, "I miss waking beside you." My voice trembled on the last words.
