"Move!"
My voice tore out of me before the command had fully formed in my head.
The chamber around us was collapsing faster now that the source had been exposed, and standing still was no longer an option.
Stone rained from above in massive chunks, ancient pillars cracked down the center, and the blood-red light pouring from beneath the ruined floor had started swallowing the lower level piece by piece.
This was no longer a battlefield.
It was an execution ground.
Zade caught my arm before a collapsing beam could crush me, shoving me hard enough to send me stumbling forward.
"If you die before we finish this, I swear I will drag you back just to kill you myself."
"You say the sweetest things."
I twisted, drove my blade into the throat of a Covenant brute lunging from the smoke, then kicked his body straight into the crimson fissure splitting through the chamber floor.
He did not even scream all the way down.
