The armies and pirates arrived at Marix's safe house, lifting their legs high in the air as they traveled through the tall grass.
Marix's eyebrows twitched as he stared at it. The windows were blown out, broken glass littered the porch and a large portion of the roof was missing.
He lifted his hand and motioned for his army to create a perimeter. They drew their weapons and nodded, heading off in various directions to secure the area.
Marix signed for the rest of the group to wait as he cautiously approached the front door. He drew his sword and pushed the door open with his shoulder. He waited a moment, listening for any moment inside before fully stepping in.
There were smoke and ash marks on the walls towards the ceiling. What was left of the furniture they'd dismantled for Eilownia's cart were piled in the center of the living room, black and charred as if they had been used for a bonfire.
