Briggs raised his sword at Marix, "You know what we have to do now right? I can't let you leave here."
Marix burst into laughter as he opened his arms, his palms raised to the ceiling.
"And why not? Arlon is not here. I don't know where he is. He's in no danger right now."
"You're a formidable leader Marix. I let you leave here, you're going to come back stronger. You're too dangerous to let go."
Briggs took a step closer into the room.
Marix glanced out the window at the war waging in the streets below. Blood painted the cobblestone and walls, dead bodies littered the floor, debris from the building nearby cause smoke clouds and rubble to clog sidewalks.
"Is this really what you want? You know this war won't end until I find Arlon. Just join us Briggs. Let's bring this to an end quickly."
Briggs lunged at Marix, who quickly stepped out of the way without looking at him, "Your footsteps are much too loud," Marix said, drawing his weapon.
