After I received that award, several other soldiers who were considered to have performed extraordinary actions during the battle were given similar awards by the emperor. I saw Gruzhnil, Grelmure and Mendicore also receiving awards in the form of medals. There was quite a funny moment because the emperor was confused when placing the medal around Mendicore and finally it was hung with a rope circling its disc body with the medal hanging below it.
I glanced briefly at Geriel. He seemed to act ordinary with the achievement of his created machine. In my heart I truly regretted that. He should have tried to start building a relationship with Mendicore.
The procession event ended with farewell words by Geriel and Greslan. Geriel then ascended through a portal to the ship that was still above the capital sky. Greslan left us by walking briefly to the main road and immediately running very fast accompanied by extremely high jumps passing over the tops of those buildings. All the attendees who witnessed it could only gape in amazement. I too was stunned because even though Greslan's body size was so huge, when he ran very fast, the objects around him were not affected at all.
Truly I still could not believe the figure of Greslan who devoted his entire self to David.
The attendees immediately dispersed themselves. I saw David immediately walking to enter his new house. Ohhh... I really wanted to follow him and immediately walked behind him. Apparently the others were also curious about that and followed me too.
Upon arriving inside, the priests welcomed him by bowing their bodies to David. He immediately headed toward the throne chair and sat down. David stared toward all of us. Truly he really looked like an emperor. I glanced toward Emperor Gregustus and he only looked at David while slightly smiling. Actually I wanted to know what The Emperor thought about him. Did he feel worried that someday Grivendal's power would be taken over by David? It could be because Geriel and Greslan had already acknowledged his strength.
But I'm sure David is not someone who seeks power. I feel deep in his heart he wants to live peacefully and rebuild a life like an ordinary human from the beginning. Actually this isn't the right beginning because David now has become the main protector figure of this planet. Surely he must bear that burden alone. Honestly I actually felt sorry seeing him, but everyone here places hope upon him. Perhaps only I can establish communication with David like a normal person.
I walked behind the throne chair to make sure what other room was there. It was only a casual sitting room with a fireplace and there was one more door.
"What room is behind that other door?" I asked one of the priests.
"Oh... inside there is only a bedroom and bathroom for The Great Lord David, Sir Johann..."
I only nodded because I thought there was a more special room again.
After looking around for some time, I ended the tour of David's new house. The others had also already gone out first. Before exiting, I approached David who was still sitting on his throne chair.
"May I visit your house every day, sir?"
"Visit as you want..." said David with a flat expression.
I smiled widely and thanked him. Outside, I saw Gruzhnil, Grelmure, Mendicore and Sherubiel waiting for me.
"Are we returning again to the old house near headquarters or to the palace?" I asked.
Suddenly Gruzhnil and Grelmure looked at each other while smiling and glanced back at me. I was confused why their behavior became like this.
"Ohhh... so you don't want the next gift, Johann?" Said Grelmure while smiling mischievously.
As if I knew what I would receive next, I let out a long sigh while rolling my eyeballs upward.
"Yesss... alright sir, let's go to that place now too..."
Grelmure and Gruzhnil immediately burst into laughter seeing my expression like that. I only shook my head while smiling thinly. Then we headed toward the place they meant. Gruzhnil then explained what happened when he met Greslan in that battlefield. I felt so amazed after heard that story. Indeed David was absolutely chosen by him.
"Ohhh yes Johann... Starting from now you will also stay in the same place together with Sherubiel and Mendicore. You will get your own room but still adjacent to them too." Said Grelmure after Gruzhnil told the story.
I was slightly confused because what would our new place for the three of us look like this time. I felt we kept walking crossing roads without riding vehicles again. Could it be my new place...
We crossed the road from David's new house and about three buildings later we arrived at the place Gruzhnil and Grelmure meant. When I saw my new house, honestly whether I was still dreaming or not. I even patted my cheeks quite hard while looking at that place to make sure this was not merely an illusion.
We entered a towering building resembling a luxury apartment. The capital of Grivendal indeed already looked like a Metropolitan city with its skyscrapers. Different from my old first house near the colosseum where it was located in a small and serene town.
Grelmure chuckled glancing at me who still showed my expression of disbelief toward what I would receive next.
"Hmmm... from Johann's expression it seems he has never stayed in a place like this before, right?" Said Mendicore.
Again I felt embarrassed by Mendicore's statement as if I was not from a wealthy class. It's understandable because I never told stories about my previous economic condition. For me there was no need to tell personal matters like that.
"Y-yes... because in my world too a place like this is very expensive and my job would not be able to afford it..." I replied.
"Hahahaaa... indeed if here a place to live like this would also be cheaper? Of course not, Johann... The Emperor gave you a place like this purely to appreciate your achievements too." Said Gruzhnil while laughing.
I scratched the back of my body while smiling shyly. My excuses really are something else.
We then entered the apartment. Truly the interior of this building was like a five-star hotel. Honestly I could not imagine suddenly moving into an even more luxurious residence. My previous two houses were already more than enough for me. David was more suitable for getting a residence with a sacred style.
An apartment staff welcomed us very warmly and escorted us to the elevator. Oh... on what floor will I live? It seems living on any floor would not matter because the room contents would not differ much.
I glanced at the elevator button and we kept going up until it showed the highest floor. I was slightly shocked, the three of us would live in the topmost apartment? I know that people who live in extremely luxurious apartments on the top floor means they are very wealthy figures. Is Gruzhnil serious about this?
We walked along that luxurious hallway atmosphere and finally we entered one of the doors. When I looked inside, my imagination of a luxurious residence was more or less like that. My room was more in the form of a studio. Relaxing room, work room, dining room and kitchen were united without wall dividers. Of course only then were the bedroom and bathroom separated from this room.
I stayed silent for a moment while still not believing receiving a residence like this. Grelmure looked at me and still chuckled at my expression which had not changed since outside the apartment.
"Comeee let's see outside the balcony, Johann!"
I immediately nodded and followed Grelmure. When outside, there was a fairly large balcony with various facilities such as a canopied seating area, beautiful plant decorations, a small pool that looked like a hot soaking pool and a mini bar. The bustling capital city view of Grivendal and around it there were skyscrapers too truly made me become part of the upper class.
"Is this really occupied only for me or for the three of us, Sir Grelmure?"
"Of course this is specifically for you, Johann. Sherubiel and Mendicore also get rooms like this beside yours."
"But... for me this is too much, Sir Grelmure. Do you want to stay here accompanying me?" I said while putting on a convincing smile toward him.
"Hahahahaaa... I truly understand your desire. But I also must stay beside the commander almost all the time."
"I have never visited your house or Commander Gruzhnil's at all. Can I go there another time?"
"I think there is no need, Johann... Our residences are more or less the same as your previous one. My house even resembles your first house near the colosseum."
I sighed while smiling. Actually I only wanted simply to thank the two of them who had accompanied me from the beginning stranded on this planet until I became like this with the symbolism of visiting their homes no matter what their forms were.
After chatting briefly with Gruzhnil about my impression of this residence, he along with the others left me to escort Sherubiel and Mendicore to the room beside mine. The apartment staff had also explained to me about the other facilities here which were more or less the same as other typical luxury hotels. If I wanted to eat directly, I could order by calling the kitchen section and the menu book was already available or I could directly go to the large dining room on the middle floor of the apartment.
I immediately headed toward that balcony again and stood at its edge fenced by thick and sufficiently tall transparent glass. I looked again at David's new house located three buildings away from my apartment. Honestly in my heart I wanted to live together with him under one roof. But it seems for now that still cannot be realized because Grivendal sees David as the most revered figure. That does not mean I'm looked down upon, surely if that were so I would never have gotten a place like this.
I immediately thought again about what the next possibility would be in my journey with David if currently we were in a period of "glory" that would not last long.
