"We walk from here, Princess." Ilya spoke while opening the door for Adele.
Stepping out after him, she walked a short distance toward the road's end, drawn by the sight of the semi-frozen river. Below, the muffled sound of water striking massive boulders resonated like a roar trapped beneath a layer of blanket. The snow crunched softly under her boots, and though the air was bone-chillingly cold, her coat provided a welcome warmth.
"Wow! It's fascinating." It was simply incredible. Observing and listening to the running river made her feel she were in a peaceful dream. There was no stream in Frostfang's capital; this was a first for her.
"Yes. It is." Ilya replied, but he wasn't glancing at the river. "Let's go, Princess."
She was finding in difficult to walk on the stones. Suddenly Ilya grabbed her wrist, and she was startled.
"The stones are slippery. I don't want to risk you tripping and getting another injury on top of existing ones." Ilya said with a straight face.
