Title: "Oblivion Counter – When Space Begins to Break"
Seven Ring: First Stage Vol. 2
Chapter 48 – Oblivion Counter
The story continues from where it last ended.
Jake Lee and the golden-armored figure stood face to face, both ready to fight. Lightning crackled behind them, illuminating the battlefield with violent flashes.
The golden figure spoke calmly,
"You still have one last chance… walk away, or you die."
Before he could finish, Jake Lee unleashed a bolt of blue lightning.
It struck the exact spot where the golden figure stood—
💥 BOOM!!
A massive explosion erupted. The sky turned blue as lightning swallowed the battlefield. The ground trembled violently, and cracks spread in every direction.
Jake stared into the smoke.
As it slowly cleared… his eyes widened.
The man was still standing.
Only a slight crack appeared on his armor.
It was revealed how he survived.
Using his black aura, he had created 190 layered shields—
188 of them shattered instantly.
Even he was shocked.
Breaking even one layer of his shield was nearly impossible… yet Jake had destroyed 188 in a single strike.
But his expression remained calm.
A faint smile appeared.
"I'm starting to enjoy this… it's been a long time since I've faced someone worthy."
"Now… try to survive my attack."
Behind him, red lightning ignited.
Golden, black, and red energies fused together into a single devastating attack… rushing toward Jake Lee.
It collided—
💥 BOOOOM!!!
The impact was so immense that even the golden figure was blasted backward.
As he rose, he muttered,
"I hope you didn't die from that… otherwise, this fight would be meaningless."
"I haven't used this skill in a long time… don't fall in the first round."
The smoke slowly faded.
And then—
He smiled.
Jake Lee was still standing.
Injured… bleeding… but standing.
What shocked him more was this—
Despite taking the full force of the attack,
Jake hadn't moved even an inch.
While the golden figure himself had been thrown far away.
The surroundings were completely destroyed.
The ground had collapsed into a massive crater.
The trees had turned black.
Even the water had turned red.
Moments Before the Clash…
Jake Lee gripped his sword.
Black aura and blue lightning began to flow into the blade, merging violently. The pressure built up instantly, overwhelming his body.
His veins trembled. His bones creaked.
If he failed to control it…
his body would explode.
Then—
In a low voice, he spoke:
⚡ "OBLIVION COUNTER." ⚡
The space around his blade distorted.
It felt as if darkness itself was devouring everything.
The golden figure's expression changed slightly.
For the first time—
he felt danger.
He immediately reinforced his attack, doubling its power.
Jake roared, enduring unbearable pain—
And activated his skill.
For a brief moment—
Time itself seemed to stop.
Then—
💥 CLASH!!
The attacks collided.
A catastrophic explosion followed.
Both were thrown away instantly, unable to stabilize themselves.
The blast was so intense that cracks began to form in space itself.
Reality was breaking.
Another clash…
and both of them would be dragged into the void.
Back to the Present
The golden figure slowly stood up.
Jake Lee was in terrible condition.
Blood dripped from his mouth.
His bones were fractured.
Even his sword was cracked.
Yet—
He forced himself to stand.
To fight.
"I'm… still ready to fight…" Jake said weakly.
The golden figure smiled.
"You passed my test."
"You deserve to live, Old Man."
"I never expected someone this powerful to exist on such a small planet… someone even the Heaven's Law cannot control."
He stepped forward.
"You seem eager to die."
"Oh, and one more thing…"
"The attack you devoured… contained black energy."
"With a paralyzing effect."
"And yet… you overpowered it."
His smile deepened.
"That's why… I'm impressed."
"But now…"
"You won't be able to move your body anymore."
"You can only speak."
"Let's talk."
"You killed my student… I can overlook that."
"But first… a condition."
"Or you can call it… a deal."
He paused.
"Before that…"
"Let me introduce myself."
"My name… is Velldora."
"Surely… you haven't forgotten your old friend?"
Jake's eyes widened.
"You… you're him?"
"The one who slaughtered his own clan… just to survive?"
(Flashback – Velldora's Betrayal)
(A glimpse of his past… betrayal… blood… destruction… and a planetary explosion.)
Present
Jake lowered his head slightly.
"Velldora… I didn't think you survived that explosion."
Velldora looked at him coldly.
"And you…"
"You're the one who killed his own children… to fulfill a false promise."
"To save a young master… and still failed."
A pause.
"We're the same."
"Both of us… killed our own."
Jake Lee froze.
Memories of his child flooded his mind.
Tears fell silently from his eyes…
hitting the ground one by one.
A faint sound echoed—
Not of battle.
But of regret.
The chapter ends here. 🔥
