~Drake's POV~
The house was unusually quiet that evening. Normally, the calm atmosphere of the house was something I appreciated after long days away, a place where I could finally breathe and think.
Tonight, however, the quiet only made the restless tension inside me worse.
Ever since I gave my sister all the information she needed, I had been restless, hoping she would give me good news soon.
My footsteps echoed faintly across the living room floor as I paced slowly back and forth near the large windows.
Outside, the city lights shimmered softly through the glass, painting the night in distant hues of gold and white.
Everything beyond the walls of this house looked peaceful and ordinary, yet my mind refused to settle into that same calm.
Since I returned from school and asked about the progress, Daisy told me to wait a second; she would be with me.
Now, it's been over an hour waiting for Daisy.
