~Jade's POV~
I barely made it out of the training hall before I felt that someone that familiar, cold prescence.
"Jade."
I stopped, then turned. I found Xander standing a few steps behind me in the hallway. His posture was relaxed, but there was nothing calm about the way his eyes were fixed on me.
It was worse when he was like this, quiet, because it meant he was thinking… and when Xander thought too much, someone usually paid for it.
"Xander."
He didn't respond immediately. Instead, he stepped closer, closing the distance between us until I could feel the weight of his aura pressing against mine.
"Who is he to you?" he asked straight to it.
I swallowed. "He's the exchange student, as you know."
Xander's jaw tightened slightly. "Do not insult me, Jade."
My fingers curled slightly at my sides. "I'm not—"
