Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: Changing sides is not shameful, it's called understanding tactics.

After the second half began, Sporting Lisbon made a tactical change.

Cristiano Ronaldo was no longer on the left wing.

He had switched… to the right.

His face was gloomy, eyes deliberately avoiding both the Bayern players and the cameras.

For Cristiano Ronaldo, this felt like a public admission of weakness.

A humiliation.

In the locker room, he had even told Coach Marques straight to his face that he would never switch sides.

"Changing wings? Doesn't that just mean I'm scared of Lahm and Schweinsteiger?"

But the experienced coach didn't argue with him.

Marques simply smiled and said, "It was Deng Kai's suggestion."

Then he casually showed Ronaldo Deng Kai's meal plan for next week.

Braised pork intestines.

Boiled sliced pork.

Stir-fried pork kidney.

Ronaldo stared at the list for three seconds.

"…Fine. I'll switch."

No way in hell he was eating that.

"Ohhh! Listen to those boos!"

"The fans are mocking Cristiano Ronaldo! All that confidence before the match — and now he switches wings!"

"Avoiding Lahm and Schweinsteiger on the left and running to the right… if that's not evasion, what is?"

Even the live commentator couldn't resist teasing him.

But soon, the boos began to fade.

Because Ronaldo on the right…

…was terrifying.

He started charging at Bayern's defense over and over, threatening the box constantly.

53rd minute.

Deng Kai lofted a pass down the right.

Ronaldo killed it with one touch, smooth as silk.

He blew past Bayern's left midfielder, accelerated down the flank, and whipped in a cross.

The left-back lunged desperately—

Missed.

Sadly, Sporting's striker Lorenzo lacked the height and couldn't win the header.

Corner kick.

61st minute.

Ronaldo cut inside from the right, spammed step-overs like a street baller, twisted the defender into knots, and drew a foul.

Dangerous free-kick position.

Deng Kai played it short.

Ronaldo rose for the header—

The ball skimmed the post and flew out.

So close.

Ever since switching sides, Sporting's attack had exploded.

Sure, Lahm, Schweinsteiger, and Hitzlsperger could also threaten down their wing.

But Ronaldo alone was creating just as much chaos.

One man, same pressure.

Sporting Lisbon's momentum surged.

68th minute.

Duarte sent a pass from deep.

Ronaldo turned and attacked again.

By now, Bayern's left-back looked mentally broken — nervous, sloppy, full of holes.

Ronaldo slipped a sharp diagonal through-ball into the right half-space.

Perfect weight.

And Deng Kai was already there.

One touch.

A flick.

He was about to shoot—

Bang!

Hitzlsperger chopped him down.

No mercy.

If Deng Kai got that shot off, it would've been deadly.

Beep!

Yellow card.

Clear as day.

Hitzlsperger tried arguing, but the referee shut him down immediately.

"Another word and you're off."

"Undisputed yellow," the commentator said.

"That's right outside the D — statistically the most dangerous free-kick zone."

"And Cristiano Ronaldo is stepping up."

"Normally Deng Kai takes set pieces, but in pure shooting technique? Ronaldo is stronger."

"He's also the top scorer in the Portugal U15 League — thirty-six goals this season!"

Ronaldo stepped back.

Ran up.

Bang!

The ball curled viciously around the wall—

Top corner.

Goal.

"GOOOOOAL!!!"

"CRISTIANO RONALDO!!!"

"A direct free kick! Sporting equalize! Two–two!"

"What a response after switching sides!"

"He and Deng Kai are causing Bayern just as much trouble as Bayern's trio caused Sporting!"

Sporting's players celebrated wildly.

Equalizing against Bayern wasn't easy.

Deng Kai quickly gathered everyone.

"Calm down. Stay steady. They're the ones panicking now."

From then on, Bayern attacked like mad dogs.

Fast. Aggressive. Almost reckless.

But Sporting dropped deep and defended with everything they had.

Shot after shot from distance.

Little effect.

78th minute.

The Bayern youngsters struck again.

Schweinsteiger broke down the wing and slipped it to Lahm.

This time Lahm didn't overlap — he cut inside and blasted a long shot.

Pilar barely tipped it over.

Corner.

Lahm delivered.

Schweinsteiger rose completely unmarked—

Header.

Goal!

But—

Whistle.

Disallowed.

Offensive foul.

A Bayern forward had shoved Angelo down during the corner, clearing space illegally.

Schweinsteiger lost his temper, arguing hard.

Didn't matter.

Decision stood.

Pilar instantly threw the ball to Ronaldo to launch a counter.

And chaos began.

Ronaldo sprinted past one player.

"Bastian!" Lahm shouted.

Too late.

Ronaldo was gone.

Wall pass with Duarte.

Past.

Quick one-two with Deng Kai.

Past again.

Bayern's shape collapsed as everyone rushed toward Ronaldo.

Then—

He passed.

The ball rolled to Deng Kai.

Heel drag.

Classic move.

The commentator started complaining:

"That heel drag wastes time… this is a counterattack, he's slowing the rhythm—"

Before he could finish—

Bang!

Deng Kai exploded forward with a sudden burst of acceleration.

Straight at Hitzlsperger.

Boos erupted instantly.

Because Deng Kai pulled out his signature "Deep-Fried Dough Sticks" move from three meters away.

Not even necessary.

Pure showboating.

Fans thought he was provoking.

"Here he goes again, showing off for no reason—"

Bang!

Instead of controlling the ball…

He poked it seven meters ahead.

Right through Hitzlsperger's legs.

Nutmeg.

Clean.

And then—

Double acceleration.

It was a straight-up race.

"A speed duel!"

"Hitzlsperger isn't slow, he—"

"Oh my God!"

"He's been smoked!"

"Deng Kai just left him for dead!"

"Hitzlsperger got absolutely cooked!"

The entire stadium gasped.

That wasn't dribbling.

That was humiliation.
