"What are you doing?" Severine asked, staring at the black-haired young lord who was calmly stirring a bowl of congee.
The steam hit her nostrils, and she realized her senses had sharpened to an alarming degree.
"Feeding you, of course," Killian said with such nonchalance that it made Severine wonder if she was thinking too much. Or if she had slept a long time instead of just two days, and her mind was still not working.
The spoon neared her mouth, and she subconsciously parted her lips.
It had a mild taste, without heavy spices, making it easy for her to digest. Not to mention it was perfectly attuned to her taste.
Before she could think of a reason to stop Killian from acting like her nanny, another mouthful filled her mouth.
"The doctor said you're doing great. You just need a proper diet and rest."
"Mmm," she mumbled through another bite.
She was actually feeling lighter. Almost as if all her aches had dissipated, leaving her body healthier than ever before.
