Damien didn't want to make Severine angry. He wanted to scare her.
Scare her enough that she would need someone's comfort.
So, he dragged the knife over Alina's hand.
Tiny ruby-red droplets of blood began to seep out, growing in size until they became a thick line of crimson.
"Killian won't let you off!"
Damien grew enraged.
"You keep throwing his name at me. Are you that desperate for a man? You were flirting with Emmett. Then you changed your target to Killian. Perhaps the only reason you kept refusing to bring Alina back then was so you could stay closer to me."
Severine was certain now. Damien had gone completely crazy.
Or maybe it was thanks to the push Emily had given him, distorting his mind. But even that hypnosis could only amplify what was already inside one's heart.
With a sharp yank, she managed to wiggle out of the guard's grip. Her feet crunched on the snow as she rushed toward Damien.
