At that moment, Yemu was closer than ever to uncovering the secrets of his own body.
Although Charlotte Linlin and Lillilu had already revealed the truth of his origins, their explanations about the secrets inside his body had been fairly general.
After all, neither of them could really be called scientists. There were many detailed things they simply could not explain. But now, with Dr. Furumi here, it seemed as though everything might finally have an answer.
Given their current situation, trying to solve this mystery here did seem somewhat poorly timed. But just as Dr. Furumi had said, rebuilding a huge laboratory like the one before them would certainly require a great deal of money and time.
Who knew what might happen by then? Yemu could no longer wait.
And so, under Dr. Furumi's guidance, Yemu's body was examined again.
Although Yemu stayed inside the giant iron boiler throughout the examination, he could still clearly hear and see the changes in Dr. Furumi's expression from outside, along with his excitement and disbelief.
After almost half an hour, Dr. Furumi's examination finally ended.
"That's enough. Captain Yemu, you can come out now..."
Yemu stepped out and saw Dr. Furumi staring at him as though he were some priceless treasure.
"This is incredible, Captain Yemu. Your body is practically a massive explosion. I've never seen physical characteristics this extraordinary before... You actually have five sets of Lineage Factors."
That stunned Yemu. Wasn't it supposed to be four?
Before Yemu could ask, Dr. Furumi excitedly began switching the images on the screen and explaining.
"Captain Yemu, please look. This is the wavelength detected when you used elementalization with the Logia-type Mera Mera no Mi. This violently fluctuating wave should be the wavelength of the Mera Mera no Mi."
The image changed, and a second image appeared.
"This is the wavelength detected when you used the Paramecia-type Atsu Atsu no Mi. This violently fluctuating wave is the wavelength of the Atsu Atsu no Mi."
Then the third image appeared.
"This is the wavelength detected when Captain Yemu used Armament Haki. These two violently fluctuating waves are the wavelengths of your body's Lineage Factors. This alone is already astonishing. For one person's body to possess two sets of Lineage Factors at the same time is incredible enough, but it doesn't end there."
A fourth image appeared.
"This is the wavelength detected when Captain Yemu used Conqueror's Haki. Under normal circumstances, Conqueror's Haki and Armament Haki reach the same destination through different paths. Both are powers of the body's Lineage Factor. The violently fluctuating waves should only be the two from the previous image. But look. Here, a third one suddenly appears. That means when you use Conqueror's Haki, Captain Yemu, another set of Lineage Factors actually emerges."
Finally, Dr. Furumi placed those four images together with the first image on the screen.
"And then something even more interesting appeared. Captain Yemu, have you noticed what's unusual about these five wavelengths?"
Without waiting for Yemu to answer, Dr. Furumi began explaining excitedly.
"Ever since I started working for Nicholas sixteen years ago, in order to unravel the mysteries of Devil Fruits, Nicholas has provided me with all kinds of human test subjects. Whether it was the rarest Giants, rare races like Fish-Men and Dwarves, or ordinary humans, I've gained some understanding of the wavelengths emitted by their Lineage Factors. But this fifth one in your body, Captain Yemu, is something I have never heard of or seen before."

That means the Lineage Factor contained within this wavelength may represent something entirely new, a Lineage Factor that transcends every species in this world. It goes beyond my understanding."

"Could you be the true descendant of the God-kin, Captain Yemu? That would be the only way to explain everything."
But at that moment, the answer Yemu thought of was not that.
Could this set of Lineage Factors be because he was a Transmigrator?
"I don't know either. Were there any other findings?"
Yemu spoke calmly.
Dr. Furumi froze, then seemed to remember something.

Dr. Furumi looked at Yemu, his eyes carrying a trace of worry.
"Captain Yemu, I'd like to ask you something. Are you truly confident that you can defeat the Great Pirate Shiki?"
Yemu looked at Dr. Furumi curiously.
"Why are you asking that?"
Dr. Furumi answered with a hint of excitement.
"Because I don't want you to be the one who loses, Captain Yemu. The reason I worked for Nicholas was not only because I'm too old to endure prison and too afraid of dying. There was another reason. As a scientist, I also want to become someone who can unlock the secrets of this world."
At that point, Dr. Furumi seemed to remember something.
"And besides, I don't want to lose to a young man."
"Is that so? Then if my answer is that I'm not confident either, what can you do?"
"That depends on whether you're willing to make a gamble with this old man, Captain Yemu."
As Dr. Furumi spoke, he pointed at the other two waves among the five, the ones that had not been mentioned.
"In order to complete the work Nicholas asked of me, the awakening of Zoan-type Devil Fruits was also one of my research topics. And for a Zoan-type ability user to awaken, there is one essential condition. They must have a body strong enough to support that awakening."
"But obviously, that is no easy thing. So I interfered with the wavelengths inside the ability users' bodies, temporarily breaking the shackles of their Lineage Factors and stimulating the potential of their bodies."
