News of this reached Konoha, and Hiruzen Sarutobi's expression grew even darker. He had almost reached his limit.
"Order! Anbu Third and Sixth Squads, Root 'Kō' Squad, proceed to the southeast coast. Annihilate the invading Kirigakure ninja!" Hiruzen's voice carried a hint of weariness. He was deploying both the village's "shield" and "sword" simultaneously.
The battle against the Hidden Mist was not the vast positional warfare seen on the northwest front, but a dangerous, high-speed special operations war. Forests, swamps, and coastal caves became the stage. The Mist Ninja appeared and disappeared like ghosts in the fog. Konoha's Anbu and Root countered with excellent coordination and unique secret techniques.
However, on this chaotic battlefield, a green figure began to rise with astonishing speed, breaking the deadlock. He was Uchiha Shisui, barely ten years old, yet already an elite Anbu. He possessed a composure far beyond his age.
In battle, Shisui was an elegant dance of death. His Uchiha Shurikenjutsu was unparalleled; blades collided in mid-air, changing trajectories to hit vital points from impossible angles. His Three-Tomoe Sharingan could not only see through the Hidden Mist's invisibility, but his Genjutsu was impossible to guard against.
But what made the Kirigakure ninja feel most despair was his unpredictable and ghost-like Body Flicker Illusion Technique. Unlike Minato Namikaze's space-time ninjutsu, Shisui's was a Taijutsu that combined extreme Body Flicker speed with Genjutsu.
Ao tried to use his Byakugan to pinpoint Shisui's real body, but the switch between the real body and the illusions had no delay. Even the Byakugan struggled to capture it. In a crucial encounter, Shisui's figure flickered, creating over a dozen lifelike illusions. The Mist Ninja fell into chaos, and Shisui's real body appeared before Ao, activating his Sharingan Genjutsu instantly.
Although Ao barely broke free due to his Byakugan's resistance, his command system was disrupted. Konoha's Anbu seized the opportunity and defeated the elite unit. After this, Shisui's name resounded throughout the battlefield: "Shisui the Body Flicker."
As long as that green figure appeared, it was as if an uncatchable wind of death had arrived. His presence curbed the Mist's offensive, forcing Ao to adopt a conservative strategy. Konoha, after enduring storms from the west, north, and east, finally had a solid barrier in the southeast propped up by a genius youth.
