The last path of survival was mercilessly severed.

When Akimichi Torifu led Konoha's headquarters elite crashing down like an iron gate, driving a wedge into the waist of the retreating Suna main force, the entire battlefield was set in stone.

Hope, like a candle in the wind, was abruptly extinguished.

The Suna army—this elite force carrying the Village's final ambition and strength—was now completely encircled on the scorched earth beneath Kikyō Mountain.

On the right was a death zone formed by the frigid Orochimaru and his summoned Manda. Constant hissing, toxic mist, and every sweep of the titanic tail shook the ground. Elder Chiyo and Ebizō were drenched in blood, their Chakra nearly spent, their puppets in tatters. They could only hold on through sheer will and experience—defeat was a matter of time. Orochimaru's icy serpent eyes already glinted with cruel amusement, savoring the prey's final struggles.

On the left, Akimichi Torifu stood like a mountain. The Konoha elite under him were in perfect formation, morale soaring. The Nara clan's shadow techniques bound and strangled like ghosts; the Yamanaka's mental barrages disrupted Suna's command and coordination; the Akimichi's expansion jutsu crushed every breakout attempt with unstoppable force. They were a red-hot brand, searing Suna's escape route shut.

Ahead, on Kikyō Mountain's walls, Konoha's defenders counter-attacked with increasing fury. Below the walls, that golden figure—the yellow flash, Minato Namikaze—remained the deepest nightmare of every Suna Ninja. His teleportation-like slaughter never paused. Even with the Fourth Kazekage Rasa straining to shield and hamper with Gold Dust on a vast scale, he could only restrict part of the yellow flash's movements, unable to stop the reaping of common Suna Ninja. Every desperate interception was accompanied by more subordinates' screams, a helplessness that nearly drove the Kazekage insane.

Sky, ground, left, right, front—enemies everywhere. Every chance of life was sealed. The Suna army was compressed into an ever-shrinking ring, casualties mounting, morale shattered. Wails of despair, groans of agony, and death rattles replaced battle cries, echoing across the field.

The Fourth Kazekage Rasa hovered mid-air, the luster of his swirling Gold Dust noticeably dimmed. His handsome face was twisted with unwillingness, fury, and deep powerlessness. He had wagered the nation's fate and led in person, only to meet this end! As Kazekage he must bear the disgrace of defeat—and watch his Village's elite bleed to the last drop. His heart felt plunged into the coldest abyss.

Elder Chiyo and Ebizō stood back-to-back, the few remaining puppets circling them like loyal hounds, all battered and broken. The two elders exchanged a glance, eyes full of exhaustion and sorrow. They had seen Suna's rise and now seemed destined to witness its fall to the deepest valley. All schemes, all struggles, seemed so pale before absolute strength and flawless design.

Down below, Sayo—covering the retreat—piloted the battered "mirage," gazing at the hopeless scene as his heart sank into the abyss. His puppet forces had suffered crippling losses; the spider puppets were nearly spent, medium and large puppets badly damaged. His own strength felt as tiny as a grain of sand in this total rout. The faint energy flow from the pocket body cultivation furnace on his wrist seemed to have lost its warmth, unable to dispel the bone-deep chill.

The outcome is sealed.

Those four words clamped like the heaviest fetters on every surviving Suna Ninja's heart. From supreme commander Fourth Kazekage Rasa to elders Chiyo and Ebizō, to mid-level commander Sayo, down to the lowliest Suna Genin, all were shrouded in ashen despair.

Anger, unwillingness, fear, grief—all feelings finally congealed into deathly numbness. They still fought mechanically, swinging Kunai, releasing their last dregs of Chakra, but it was instinct, not the will to win.

Kikyō Mountain City—once seen as a symbol of wealth and glory—had now truly become Suna's Waterloo, a vast grave slowly closing. The war's end seemed irreversible.
