Azura's POV
The great hall had never looked like this before.
Every torch on every wall was burning at full height, throwing warm gold light across the stone and the faces and the banners hanging from the rafters above. Flowers lined the walls in deep reds and whites. The ceremonial runners on the floor gleamed from the polishing they had received all day. And the people. Every single person in this pack was here, pressed together in the warmth and the light, shoulder to shoulder, filling every available space from the front of the hall to the back walls.
I stood near the children with Liona beside me and tried to breathe normally.
