Chapter 105 - Apology

Third person point of view

Torin had been staring at them for a while now and they had not done a single thing worth watching. They just stood there being trees, which was exactly what they had been doing before he sat down and would continue doing long after he got up. But staring at them required nothing from him, and right now, requiring nothing from him was exactly what he needed.

His ribs ached when he breathed too deeply. He had learned to breathe shallowly without thinking about it, small careful breaths that kept everything from complaining too loudly. The cut above his eyebrow had healed clean, which was one thing at least.

The rest of it was taking longer.

Not the physical part. The physical part he could handle. He had been hit harder than that before and by things significantly less motivated than Logan in full red-eye mode. The physical part would sort itself out in a few more days and then it would be like it never happened.
