Seraphina's words made Lia's eyes widen.
The shock on her face was immediate.
Her lips parted slightly, as if she wanted to say something, but the words never came out of her mouth.
Even Lucian raised an eyebrow, both surprised by how quickly she had stepped forward and also concerned about the decision she had just made.
Lucian could still see that her eyes were slightly swollen, as if she had been crying not too long ago.
His heart tightened faintly as he slowly closed the distance between them.
"Are you sure?" He asked softly.
Even though he was the one asking them to do this…
Even he felt guilt.
For a brief moment, a thought crossed his mind again.
What if he didn't make them do it?
What if he just handled everything himself?
Even if they didn't awaken… he could still protect them, right?
He was already stronger than these monsters.
He had already dealt with five goblins alone.
If he kept getting stronger, if he kept fighting…
Maybe that would be enough.
