Chapter 35 - In which his support was eternal

Sullivan had been in the middle of dressing for work when Anna knocked on his door. His gaze that was fixed on the headband he took from Anna's room dashed towards the door for the briefest of seconds before his hands moved to tuck the band into his sock drawer. 

"Come in." 

The lady dragged almost half of the shopping items into his room. She was struggling with it, even pushing some with her legs.

Sullivan was fast in helping, his legs a large stride as he took most of the items from her. The tie he had been in the middle of knotting slipped off his neck onto the shiny tiles and Anna grabbed it since she had free hands. 

"Good morning." She greeted with a breath less. 

He was rooted to the spot when he responded, voice heavy with the morning vibration. "Good morning." 

The silence between them stretched as far as a minute until she shifted on her legs, the door closing with the softest of clicks. When Sullivan remained mute, she spoke, now unsure of what she had done.
