Afterall, every single one of them was a talented Awakened exceeding Level 80. They all had the talent, the ability and the experience to use their Domain Expansions already, and yet, they refrained from using it till now.
This is because first, every use of a Domain Expansion drains a big chunk of an A Rank powerhouse's qi.
This is why it's a battle-ending tool more than anything. Considering that most A Rank Awakened can only use their Domain Expansion once or twice in a single battle, they always hold back till the battle situation becomes either favorable or unfavorable.
Also, another reason why they didn't use their domains was because of the tendency of domains to either cancel each other out or compete for dominance with one domain overpowering the other.
This tendency becomes even more prevalent when the overlapping domains are more than 1.
